IdeaPad 100 bricks through Windows update [solved]

I got a 100 s the Ideapad Lenovo about three weeks. Can I have solved the problem of the SPACEBAR that some of them have folding bar PIN under this contact is therefore preferable, but he now has a more serious problem. The update failed to 10 Windows version 1511 a brick machine, probably something to do with how it doesn't have space to perform the update. Apparently she could never have enough space, even if completely wiped out personal data.

The BIOS of the laptop, or at least mine, seems almost completely disabled. I saw some people install a Linux distribution with a degree of success which would require to be able to boot from a USB device. I was unable to boot from a USB key. I'm about to try to boot from a USB DVD drive, but I suspect that it will be blocked too. It seems very strange that these laptops have a BIOS in various States of ease of use.

Useful options in the BIOS appear to be blocked - the arrow keys can not pass by them. Is it possible to Flash the BIOS to get a unlocked? Lenovo seems to have prevented people in computer science to put things right that likely their service centers will eventually have to do in the very near future.

Is there a procedure arcane that I can use to completely enable this BIOS? Or the GET to all the less back the ability to boot from a USB DVD drive? Reinstall Windows from a DVD would be quite simple then. (Is there no matter what reason it is 32-bit Windows? Can an iso 64-bit being used and still active if reinstall from scratch?)

I have my receipt from the Bank, John Lewis to the United Kingdom, but I'm not too happy about sending a machine with personal, connected data in Bank etc. stuff, as I don't know if the machine can be débriquée without destroying what currently remains on the laptop. It seems unlikely, but if there is a way I can fix the problem, I would have preferred that.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Everything is perfect now, the chipset driver Intel Lenovo web page for this model being the missing piece. I made a few changes to my posts here for others to reference later. 17 GB free on main disk too which is quite an improvement.

  • Error code 646: Windows Vista re Office 2007 SP 2 through Windows Update

I am running Vista Home Premium, SP1, 32-bit.   Office 2007 SP1 is installed.

I've restored an Office 2007 SP2 hidden (and almost forgotten) update.   Failed twice.  The error code is 646.

Since the update wouldn't install and just sitting there, looking at me with a big red FAIL on it, I hid it again.   Please let me know if there is a procedure to follow?

BTW, I ran into the same problems that other posters have recently that some updates installs successfully through Windows Update, others I had to install directly on the Microsoft site.    Once the updates have been installed manually, of course, they were not offered by Windows Update.

Should I give the Office 2007 SP2 a whirl and try to install directly from the MS Download page, or is there something else I should do/check before this attempt?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Lack of crude Windows Update SOLVED

Redefined in short problem: no single update it has been the work stoppage.  The system essentially choked on 200 + updates & automated attempts went for 4 hours at a time.

Optimal solution.  Manual update, in small doses.  Finally seemed about 60 MB worth.

Problem updates 1 taking sometimes 2 hours has never been resolved.  Sometimes, it would take 20 minutes

Original content of message left here.  Its largely irrelevant, but the fact that I did a clean install & updates there more than he could manage.

Windows Update colossal fail as illustrated in the history of the update 30/01/2016.  BACKGROUND. On about 01/09/2016, I did a clean install after virus trashed video card a few seconds on the use of Mozilla & Mozilla visit sites with multiple windows that I never asked.  Save some files but removed most of them.  Some people saved the files before I could fully virus checking due to the lack of internet use.  AVG found no virus before video card be trashed.  Kapersky found virus or rather the hacks in the folder temp of the Mozilla browser.

One installs own repeated after update fails.  Router died under warranty after that I have cut the power by mistake by pulling a power cord from wall outlet.  A PC shop & had replaced video card.  At this point, the update then the singular problem disappeared.

Almost a fortnight of use limited computer like no internet.  I was able to use the notebook & Windows Media Player only.

28/01/2016 obtained replacement router.  Windows, seemed ok of memory update.  Kapersky anti-virus installed trial version.  Kapersky update & ran full scan of the system and on attached USB drive as soon as POSSIBLE before going to anywhere on the internet.

Only applications that I have installed are VLC Media Player, Adobe Acrobat Reader & Open Office.

update 30/01/2016 went 2 hours minimum, failed & updates have been canceled for another 2 hours.

Found WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.  It takes a long time until I thought he hung.  Apparently, he was partially successful.  In the performer several times produced a list of the errors he claimed he fixed with fixed errors.  1st realization was initially fixed/no 1 to 4.  He executed several times and it seems to repeat the same conclusions, including the things he claims are fixed.

  • Impossible to install Vista Service Pack 1 through Windows Update

    Hello

Recently I had to reinstall windows vista home premium 32 bit on my old acer aspire laptop. I did a "clean install", all was well with this operation. I had to install a large number of various updates after doing, now I am notified via windows update vista service pack 1 is available for download/installation. When I try to perform this action, I get a popup window that informs me of what to know before installing sp1, then I reach a window where I have to accept the terms of the software installation. Once I click on the little square and accept the conditions, it goes to another window with two choices... install & cancel, when I click the button install... instead of windows update download and install the update, I am presented with the view of windows update, the update has been installed successfully When in fact it was not. I prefer to install sp1 via windows update, because she was supposed to be a size smaller than the stand-alone version available on microsofts website. Has anyone else had the same question, and if so how do you fix? Of course this laptop is not my main computer, but as it still works very well I continue to use it.

    Thank you
