IdeaPad Y485P no boot device

Hello

I am writing this question of my cell phone because my laptop (a lenovo ideapad y485p) does not work.

Ive had some problems before with this model cause this kind of rare in Europe (I bought in a Chinese online store) and it is not much info and drivers available on the internet.

The latest issue Im having is that I bought an SSD and SATA caddy to replace the DVD and put 2 hard drives on the computer, I followed all the procedure (at the same time Ive boutght new RAM in the computer).
After changing all and according to the videotutorials (which is really very careful with all components) her dosent computer starts. None of the boot even disks bootable USB, nothing. Ive changed the hard drive to the original as well as the DVD and the same error position.
The config in the bios is supported legacy, compatible sata controller mode. MY version of BIOS is rev 3, 7.

Please let me know if anyone knows how to solve this problem. I need this computer to work and Im stuck.

Thank you

I ve put the old RAM as it was before and now it's sort of starting windows. It gets stuck in the middle of the initialiting of windows and it rises an error blue screen and restarts.
I need to solve this problem. The RAM I bought it supposed to be compatible DDR 3 2 channels. Thought it was difficult to buy the RAM as the internet has no information on this model I don't could not identify the motherboard...

Now you can go with your plan to use a SSD and SATA caddy to replace the DVD and put 2 hard drives on the computer. Temporarily forget the ram. OR

You can fix the problem starting first, then install the ram. Do not touch your plan yet to put a SSD and SATA caddy to replace the DVD and put 2 hard drives on the computer.

  • Boot camp is no boot device

    Hello community,

I used to read every forum/discuss before posting, so it's the first time here.

    My config:

    Mac pro 3.1 2008 / Mac osx 10.11 / Boot camp 5 / windows 7 update to windows 10

I have installed since a year now Bootcamp, windows told me I was able to update windows 10, and they were little good cause I managed to update without any problem, I used windows 10 for a month and have never encounter the difficulties in moving an OS x and windows.

But yesterday, I needed to format my disk HARD school wich has been used for time machine. Time machine has been disabled for months (because it was full and keeping saying that it was impossible to save) and I needed a free space to use with Windows 10.

I deleted and format FAT32, this secondary hard drive, so I could not boot into windows, keep showed a black screen with flashing white guest and not any something key.

If I go to select a restart from a drive, I can choose OS x or bootcamp.

I can see my partition boot camp on OS X with all data still there, but when I push the button option at the beginning, I have only 2 choices: - Mac OS X - or - restore 10.11 - I don't see my windows startup.

I tried to download parallels desktop to see if he is able to start my training camp. But parallel shows me "no boot device."

  • Bootcamp - no boot device

    Hello

First of all, sorry for my bad English is not my mother tongue.

I have a MacBook Pro (late 2011, i7 2, 2 GHz, 320GB HD, 4 GB RAM, Radeon HD 6750 M 512 MB, OS X El Capitan) and I tried to install Windows via Bootcamp 8.1. I changed the info.plist file because my Macbook still have superdrive and could not install bootcamp with a USB key. At this point, no problem. But when the reboot from OS X, appears a message saying: "No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key", that I was wrong? How can I install windows? Now whenever I turn on my Macbook, I must maintain option and select Macintosh HD thanks.

You must download the W8.1 ISO to your Mac from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home and burn it to a physical DVD. Your Mac 2011 is not compatible USB start correctly. 2012-2014 mac supports USB installers. Change Info.pllist will also cause driver problems.

    Hello @zoboomafoo,

Thank you for all the information!

What have been the results of physical tests?  If all the past, then it seems that you encounter problems with the operating system.  If the problem is actually related to the operating system, then by reinstalling Windows will help you solve it.  This should help to address issues with malware.  Upgrade to Windows 10 is an option, however, you don't have full support of drivers.  I hope this helps.

    Kind regards!

I have a Toshiba Satellite M50D-A-10W passing me all nuts "reboot and select proper boot device."

This has happened before and it was solved by ctr-alt-del and F12 to get into the BIOS where the date went back to some time in 2010 - after put so far and to change the boot device, everything worked fine... until the next day.

Now I get the screen "reboot and select good boot device ', but the F12 key does not; I also tried F2... the message keep multiplying, no BIOS...
    Help, please!

In some cases the BIOS is only accessible by pressing the button turn off force on the lower side of the unit.

After that you were able to start the windows system, its highly recommended to update the BIOS as BIOS update would solve this annoying problem.

  • Reboot and select good Boot Device problem - my PC does not start!

    Hi all

Whenever I turn on my computer I get the message "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key.

I checked the diagonistics material and these are the results:

    Test CPU-

Hard drive: failure of the connection Test - Error Code: BIOHD1

    Memory - past

I don't think that the issue is a faulty connection. My reason to believe so because I think that I had a virus on my computer (I was not able to confirm) I tried to delete the last time I was able to use the computer. Then I turned off the computer to restart, but unfortunately, that's when I got this error message.

I had this problem once before (about 3 years ago) and I was not able to solve this problem, so I just stopped using the PC. Then one day my Dad turned on the computer (a few months later) and it worked all of a sudden.

Anyone know what this problem is? How can I solve this problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you very much for your time and effort!

    Additional information:

It was originally a windows 7 PC, but I have upgraded to windows 10, which is the current operating system.

    Product: HP p6620f

I managed to start my PC again.

I have unplugged all connections and left it that way for about 24 hours. Then I plugged everything back in and all of a sudden the PC worked again. I don't know if it will last, but right now it works.

I'll write another post if something changes.

I don't know what to do.

I am very worried. Can you help me?

Thank you to tell me everything

    Dino, Rimini Italy

Usually, the message appears because the laptop could not boot boot device...
In most cases the disk HARD is not found in BIOS due to the fault and therefore the laptop not found system.

Question: are you able to access the BIOS F2 key?
If so, the HARD drive is listed in the BIOS?

You can boot from another bootable media such as disk or a USB key?

My laptop won't start. It is said the test of hard drive failure and the found boot device (3f0). I ran tests start, tests and test the hard disk without success. The computer is no longer under warranty. It is a HP mini.

    You are the very welcome.

Please give me the model number full of your mini, so I can watch what size HARD drive you need to buy, if a recovery media is available for purchase and for me to be able to provide the link to the service manual.

Normally, removal and replacement of a hard drive are not too difficult relatively speaking.

I would say that almost everyone can do.  I don't know that much about mini and how disassembly is required to get on the hard drive.

On mobile phones more regular sizes, it is very easy to remove and replace the HARD drive.
