iDVD deinterlacing bad or bad handling of DVD standard?

Hello

I asked someone to look at two files that I created with iDVD from the same source.

One was 3000 Kbps, the other was 5900 kbps (iDVD seems never to use a higher bitrate!)

He said that the flows are still enough to avoid hard objects. But he said, it seems that bad deinterlace or mishandling of the standard (PAL DVD) has been made.

IDVD is not good to that or, because it's American, it may only manage PAL as well?

Here are the two iDVD encodes, if you care to have a look https://www.wetransfer.com/downloads/02aae2e65d04775a7c16a0707005743a20160119171 248/3fd95dd4642f954e992310e2b7c0383920160119171248 / 7b 0040

It's the original source (h.264) http://www.jottacloud.com/p/eichhoernchen/209b5ff1056f47f2a380d9a958180012

that made bread grilled it (custom setting, half-pel, 7 - 8.5 Mbps, audio 448 Kbps, progressive) http://www.jottacloud.com/p/eichhoernchen/94007a89aa0a469d898ae91d208e0164

(Note: Toast, too will not be allowed to use a higher flow rate than 5700 kbps for this cartoon, but I couldn't Toast to use 8mbps when I had him convert a movie HD-DVD-video.) While that iDVD uses even 5900 kbps, when given HD-content).

Any input?

The question of deinterlacing and ghosting issues side.

Someone sees that the linked files look better/best?

  • SD-R5372 will not burn DVD - bad format of DVD appears

Hi, recently I had problems with my Toshiba CD / DVD-burning device SD-R5372: I can still burn CDs but DVD burning is no longer possible, without worrying if I want to burn data, mp3, movies...

The "wrong DVD format" message keeps popping up, even if I use the same blank DVDs than ever. I tried a few other blank DVDs, but it still does not work.

What could be the problem? I may need a driver updated? Unfortunately, I can't find it on the Toshiba site or on the internet.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello

According to the description of your problem, it seems that the question of calibrating lenses.
In my view, the drive cannot calibrate the lens in the right position and that's why the drive can't handle the DVD!
Sorry to say, but this is a case value and especially the replacement of the part could help :(

May I ask what burning software do you use?
I noticed a few problems with the Sonic Software. I used Sonic and Nero together and this mixture has been a bad influence on reading and writing.

Then try to remove the Sonic program and use a single burning software!

  • Creation of blu - ray and DVD standard of same video project - issue of menus

    Hello

I have a video project, I intend to distribute on blu - ray and standard DVD. I plan create all menus and buttons for the blu - ray disc first. Can I just reduce the menus and buttons in again when I go to create the DVD standard? Or better, I'll recreate the standard DVD menus in Photoshop? Someone else to create the menus same br and standard DVDs? Any tips? I'm using CS5. Thank you.

    Cheers, Steve

I would certainly agree with Jim's response above too.

The problem with trying to use the same image is not massively different resolution (1920 x 1080 from 720 x 480), but also the size of the pixels.

BD uses square pixels and what you design is what you get in the disc - DVD on the other hand uses non-square pixels and it can be a nightmare to design if you try at the scale of the images of high Resolutiom down to SD

The SPHL button are also different - BD requires a separate layer for each State of the button to coloiurs up to 256 while DVD gives you the complete package on 2 bits of an image indexed with a total of 3 corridors.

I would definitely say to create separate menus for each project.

  • Qosmio G40-108: bad quality video/DVD playback

I have new Qosmio G40 108 loaded with Vista Ultimate and am very disappointed with the quality of video/DVD playback compared to the older machines loaded with XP. Seems insipid depth bland, not really the color and not too strong. I tried another laptop of another manufacturer and pretty much the same thing!

What is Vista's fault? You want to try XP but blocks me when I boot with XP disc in. I would like to run the two to see if there is a difference. (Sorry to all if this appears as message repeated hurry but bad touches earlier - starting!)

I don't have a notebook, G40 but I use the Vista OS and I must say that the video and the quality of the DVDs is great!
Don't know what DVD software you use, but I use the WinDVD and Windows Media Player. Two applications provide the same quality.

    > I tried another laptop of another manufacturer and pretty much the same thing!
According to your own statement I don't think that there is something wrong with the Qosmio G40 laptop because you have the same opinion on the other non-toshiba computer.

PS; I wonder why you start always different threads on the same topic:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=107067#107067

However, if you wish, you can test the XP if the same phenomenon occurs with other OS.

  • iDVD on the part of an external DVD burner

The optical drive on my mac mini 2009 died. I need to burn a project to a DVD. I have attached an external DVD burner for mac. I play DVD. How to record from iDVD please?

I had a similar set on one of my Mac mini.  My internal optical drive still works fine, but I bought an external burner because the Apple optical drive cannot burn the M-DISC.  (M DISC is what we use now.)

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/item/OWC/MR3UBDRW16/

Don't burn your DVDs from iDVD. Instead, use iDVD to create an image file and then burn the image file using the disc utilities. Utility disk will be out and find all your drives connected and it should see externally, (he does with us).

  • Tecra A8: audio stutters during playback of CD/DVD on Win2K

We recently started having the laptop Tecra A8 and we run Win2K on them. Everything works well except during playback of CD audio or DVD. Audio stutters really bad (worse with DVD to CD).
I tried to remove the silent acoustics and re - install the audio drivers but same problem.
As a test, I put the WinXP preinstalled on one, and then there is no problem. May be driver related issue, but we do not have the best experiences using XP drivers on a Win2K machine.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know on the Tecra A8 has been preloaded with a Realtek HD Audio driver.
I guess you also need the same kind of audio driver for W2k.
This unit uses a link high-definition audio, and I think you'll need driver that supports this chip.

See the Toshiba driver for W2k drivers page. In addition if you don t use the Toshiba Recovery CD you need to install all the drivers of Toshiba in the right order. Please see the installation instructions and follow this guideline.

    Hello:

If you have the installation media yourself (to download the ISO of W7), which is normally due to a bad burn to DVD or you didn't get the entire file to download even though it said full.

Check the download file size you actually, vs, which is on the download site.

Your PC didn't need special drivers to install W7 - DVD, AHCI or otherwise.

    Buy iDVD.

Yes, there are other programs that will put a movie on a DVD.   I tried most of the other substitutes.  None of them come anywhere close to the ease of use and power of iDVD. IDVD is specifically designed to work with iMovie.

With iDVD, you can easily and quickly create DVDs with menus and graphics almost on the level of what Hollywood can do.

IDVD is easy to obtain. It is available on the disc as part of iLife 11.  You can, but it on Amazon or ebay.

IDVD is a wonderful piece of software, and is worth the modest sum of $40.  (works with all Mac OS 10.5 and newer.)

It is not a software problem, because my laptop does not start the DVD, but due to the CD...

    Hello

The issue could be linked to the anomaly of the player's laser lens.
Maybe the lens can not handle the DVD because of a physical constraint.
In most cases, the lens can not calibrate properly and therefore different media would not work.
In this case there is not much to do in most of the cases that the drive needs to be replaced.

But maybe you could try to clean the drive s laser lens using a cleaning professional who could be bought from the other computer dealers.
I don't very well if this will help but it s worth to try m

  • Satellite P100 locks after inserting the DVD + RW disc

My P100 crashes after inserting the dvd + rw disc.
If I turn on the computer with the floppy disk in the drive (in general), it works.
I use the wrong type of dvd.
    Can you advise?

    Hello

There are many different models of Satellite P100, and I think that the units were delivered with different drives.
But if the laptop came with DL reader so it should also could handle the DVD + RW.

Does happen with different DVD + RW from different manufacturers?
I think that in the manual you will find a list with tested and compatible media that you can use.
This list, I found in the user manual on my satellite.

  • Satellite M30X: reader will not read the DVD-R data but plays movies in DVD-R and CD

    I have a Toshiba M30X with combi DVD/CDRW drive.
I have accumulated 12 GB of digital photo I wanted to erase but do not want the number of CDs that can be the so I bought an external DVD LITEON EZ - DUB and made 3 DVD - R burner of plenty of JPEG.
However, when I put the DVD in the drive of Toshiba combi, it clicks for a moment or two, but when I click on the combi drive in my computer, the folder is empty and it is said there are 0 bytes.
CD of still works, audio and data, DVD movies fine, reading DVD-R on my Pioneer DVD recorder (for TV - looks like a video/nothing to do with PC) plays very well, but he won't recognise DVD - r with data (JPEG or MP3) on them.

It makes no difference what software was used (Nero 6.6) and LITEON EZDUB and it's okay if the discs are completed, a single session, multi session or what - it will not play any of them.
However, these discs work perfectly in my old office to 7 years with a Sony DVD/CDRW combination of 4 years.
    I'm puzzled.
I don't particularly want to reinstall windows, in the case where it does not recognize the recovery DVDs and I remember Microsoft a Note having activated by phone with a code that is different every time you ask him to generate a.
It's a bit of pain that I wanted to make my pictures with me in my laptop bag.
I won't be carting around an external DVD burner just to read the DVD.
    I've updated the firmware for SD - R 2512.
He had no other effect freeze on a black screen on restart - I had to hold down the switch 15 minutes in this State.
The laptop is 1 year and 26 days if that counts for anything.

Anyone have any ideas? Or can I just put up with him.

    Hello

Well, I can only make suggestions.
You are able to place files many MP3 and Jpeg on DVD.
This is perhaps a reason why Explorer cannot handle the DVD.

Try to burn the DVD with photo JEPG, but do not have the full DVD with these files.
You must leave a free space on the media. Maybe it helps.

But it's very strange for me and it's just a suggestion. I've never tired it and don't know if it helps.
I had a similar problem on my laptop but I solved using compatible media. Some readers prefer different media for different types of files.

  • Problem M30 Satellite DVD - RW (drive SD-R6112)

I have a satellite SM30-106 with a SD-R6112 DVD/RW drive. When you enter the drive says DVD - RW drive in my computer. The marks on the drive itself where the eject button says dvd rom/r/rw. However, when you go into the properties of the drive of the pilot says dvd - rom info. When you put in any blank DVD disc, it does not recognize or recognizes a CDRW. I tried Nero etc, but nothing seems to write. When you put a dvd - ram disc in and click dvdform it says no disk is not inserted. Software DVD RAM supplied with the machine, but nothing seems to want to write on DVD or CD - RW. Please can anyone suggest a solution?

    Hi Clive,.

First of all, I don't think that the SDR6112 can handle discs DVD-RAM at all. According to the specs of the device, it will load only DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW. I assume it's the least format the discs you are trying.

Secondly, is this a recent problem or was it always like this? If you right click on the device in my computer, there should be an option on one of the tabs to allow digital writing please make sure of course that this box is checked.

Finally, you can reload the drivers of devices (from the Toshiba website) and see if it improves the situation.
