IE 8 on Windows Embedded Standard 7 is extensible to IE9 or IE10? Is it possible to install other browsers? that is, firefox or google chrome?

I have more than 10 thin clients with Windows Embedded Standard 7 with IE8. We are running a web application that crashes with IE8. I tried the upgrade to IE9 or IE10, but during the upgrade process, it stops and fails to install. I also tried installing various other browsers such as firefox and chrome, but they fail during the instalation.

Is there a limitation with the installation of other browsers or IE upgrade with windows embedded standard 7?

Hi Billy,

  • LabVIEW Runtime engine on Windows Embedded Standard 7 P 32 / 64-bit?

Any who tried never to install and run the LabVIEW Runtime Engine (2011 or later version) on Windows Embedded Standard 7 P 32 / 64-bit?

I'm trying to figure out if this will work, for example on a CX5120 PC Beckhoff embedded. I have to have some TCP/IP communication simple to exchange information with another PC, but nothing else, i.e. drivers, etc...

I hope that someone tried to do already. I don't have the right equipment now to check it out.

As NEITHER sells touchscreens with WES7 installed here: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/210551 it's pretty safe to assume that they used the RTE on WES7.

    But yes, it is done.

  • In XP, SP2, Windows Embedded Standard 2009, system to see the CF 8 GB Extreme like disk sets.

    Hi all

I'll put up an industrial PC with reader CF card on the motherboard. The system come with a card CF 8 GB, XP SP2, Windows Embedded Standard 2009 installed. I want to keep this card as the master of the copy, so I buy a SanDisk CF Extreme 8 GB in replacement card. I managed to copy the image to the new CF card and make it bootable. However when XP is running, he still see the CF card as a removable drive C:\. Where as with the original card CF, the operating system see a fixed drive C:\. It's a way I can make the SanDisk CF card as a fixed disk, as I have a problem with the installation of the software.

Unfortunately no you can go see it as fixed disk. SanDisk sells only fixed disk via the OEM channel cards. you will need to contact one of their OEM distributors and buy a card of fixed disk mode.

  • Deploy an image of Windows Embedded Standard 7

    Hello

The company I currently outsources our computers, but in order to save money, I took it upon myself to develop our internal computers.  Right now, the company works with that offers us a computer, a hard drive (with a customized version of Windows Embedded Standard 7) and all the necessary material to hang all this.  Rather than spend me time for the redevelopment of the OS for our needs, I was wondering if I can just picture one of the drives that they provide for us (with software such as Norton Ghost) and flash the image on the blank hard drives.  Obviously, this made appear some questions when it comes to product keys, licenses, etc.  What I hope is, that once the OS image is flashed on the new hard drive, can I just change the product within the software key so that the version of windows in real and legitimate for each image I have flash.  In no case that I want to "pirate" software, just the exact configuration of the OS even for each hard drive.  Once the image is flashed on the new drive, a new product key will be purchased/provided for each hard drive that I Flash the OS.  We rely on the purchase of the exact same type/model computer that was provided for us the company, we outsource to, therefore, and this is one of the reasons why I want to do this way, drivers, etc. should not be a problem.  If someone can provide an idea would be great.
If, for some reason, this is not possible and decide us to purchase a Windows Embedded Standard 7 license and install the drive, as well as any type of software development, we need to customize the operating system, is there a way to emulate easily configuring of the hard drives that we have in our possession now?

I don't like the update Spider Solitaire in Windows 7.  Is it possible to install the version that I had in XP?

I found a way to do it myself.  I knew someone who was still using Windows XP, and with his permission, I found all the files of spiders by searching, put them on my backup stick and put the files on my computer at home.  I just put it on the desktop so it is easy to find and it works very well.  Only, I transferred the .exe file.

    4. do I need to connect directly to a database of my system?

WES7 supports saving data to a database using the LabVIEW DSC Module. Logging of database with LabVIEW DSC is designed specially for easy configuration and use. It can easily connect and connect directly to the currents a lot of relational databases such as Oracle, mySQL and Microsoft SQL. LabVIEW DSC also includes its own built-in database, Citadel, optimized for effective long-term record.

WES7 also works with the LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit, which allows more personalized creation, querying and retrieving data from any provider that adheres to the standard Microsoft AciveX Data Object (ADO), mutual FUND data base connectivity (ODBC), or linking and embedding database (OLE DB). Similar to LabVIEW DSC, the database connectivity Toolkit supports communication to common databases such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL.

Like mutual FUNDS, several methods of communication of common database are based on Windows like ActiveX technology. For this reason, the LabVIEW Database Connectivity Toolkit does not work in time applications real LabVIEW.

Learn more about the recording of data with LabVIEW DSC options.

Database connectivity is always possible by using LabVIEW Real-time, but a Windows host to the intermediate address must be used; similar to the method used to obtain access to the OPC, as well as Real LabVIEW HMI - Time capabilities. Standard communication such as TCP, UDP, and variable LabVIEW shared methods are used to communicate with this Windows separate host computer.

  • You need to remove Windows Embedded dual-boot system.

Original title: replacement of the Windows XP boot manager.

    Hello

A few days ago, I installed Windows Embedded Standard on a PC that already had Windows XP on it. But (Windows Embedded) has been installed with a lot of system files missing (Task Manager, System Configuration and even the application to activate Windows was absent).

The Windows boot manager that came with Windows Embedded could not be successful because I could not access "msconfig". It doesn't even have a "repair" advanced option.

"Windows Embedded would be useless in 30 days, so I formatted the disc that contains the" management of the computer "in Windows XP.

But Windows Boot Manager Embedded stayed with Windows Embedded as one of the options (Option low said "Earlier Version of Windows". This driver for the Windows XP boot manager).

Is there a way I can get rid of him?

    Thank you

    DOM

    Hi Dom,

Did you uninstall normal Windows XP or Windows Embedded Standard?

If you have removed Windows Embedded and normal Windows XP still installed, you can use FIXMBR and FIXBOOT from the Recovery Console to restore the boot loader.

For more information, please visit this link: Description of the recovery Windows XP for power users Console

If you have removed the normal Windows XP and Windows Embedded, you can ask your question in the MSDN forums for assistance.

  • HP Thin Client running Windows Embedded don't profile with attributes DHCP

My company has a large population of HP Thin Clients that are not attached to our AD domain and therefore cannot do dot1x because they have no certificates.

We decided to do the profiling for these devices. We present a few attributes, two of these DHCP attributes.

About 90% of our profile of thin clients, as expected, but the other 10% will refuse to work. We need to statically assign them to a group of identity to authenticate properly.

A lot of troubleshooting reduced us to query DHCP the thin client sent was not received by the strategy node. A TAC engineer looked over the config switch, IP helper address configuration and said that everything seems to be configured correctly.

The only explanation is that it seems that these specific thin clients were not finishing the DHCP process before reassigned switch the VLAN of the port. So when the dhcp request has been sent, the thin client was already in our vlan "invited" who does not dhcp to the ISE.

It's very strange, because we have so many thin clients that works properly. It's only a handful that do not. We have not been able to further refine to something specific. They are running Windows Embedded Standard 7 and a majority of them are HP t5740. I don't see Windows or HP updates available for these units and not sure if there are any registry hacks available to expedite the DHCP process.

Has anyone ever come across something similar to this?

It's pretty obvious to me, the end point isn't you get profiled before there was authenticted, which means that you do not correspond to the profiling conditions defined in rules 6 and 7, which means it will match the rule 11 (I think, having not seen your real rules). What I expected this, is that endpoint gets profiled, if ISE receives the attributes of this endpoint via dhcp e.g. forwarding help. Then, what should happen is, that it should issue a certificate of authenticity to the switch, which will lead to the passage to be re - authenticate this ending point, which now must have customization attributes you are trying to match. However if the DHCP packet never reaches ise, it won't work. That's why I think you should do a trace of package on the ise server, to see if the packets actually reach ise. If they don't you will probably need to find another way to profile, or activate dhcp for assistance on your guest virtual local network. Have you looked at the attributes of endpoint maybe after 30 seconds? They change?

  • Windows 7, IE9 and IE10, steals Focus

Before installing IE 10, IE 9 had this same problem. It seems to have migrated to my IE 10 installation.

More specifically, when I have an IE window opening and look for example, a FoxNews then I open another application like Outlook, Word or else that takes focus, then allows me to use the application, usually in 30 to 60 seconds, IE steal you the focus from the new application I have opened and started to use.

This happens not when the window is minimized.

I can be typing in Word, Outlook emails, or any other application that I would be using and has immediate focus. Then comes along the IE and steals focus, forcing me to use Alt - Tab or other method to start reusing the app that just lost focus.

This could be the cause? Any body ever meet this problem before? If so, is there a solution?

    Thank you.
