If compatibility mode is allowed inside the JDE

I use JDE v7.0.  I want to prevent my application to start in compatibility mode.

I am aware that I can put "RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode: false" in my .jad file, but I'm worried that this setting will be deleted when the .jad file are written to JDE when I compile.  At the same time, I have found no way to specify in JDE If compatibility mode is allowed for the application.

Is there a way to define if the compatibility mode is permitted within JDE? If this is not the case, how should I worry JDE remove the parameter "RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode" the .jad file?

Applications built in version 7.0 BlackBerry JDE / BlackBerry Java SDK do not work in compatibility mode.  This applies to applications created in versions pre 4.7.0 (who did not have access to the touch API).

  • For Windows 7 XP compatibility mode?

In looking for information on the issue of whether the version of Windows 7's Home Premium would be appropriate for my laptop, I came across this quote on this site: «Home Premium always a compatibility mode that allows to launch programs XP.» What does that mean? What's not mean? For example, what happens if I try to run an older version of SPSS, a statistical software?

Most of the applications that were designed for Windows 2000 or Windows XP will always properly run on all editions of Windows 7, including Home Premium. Some applications check the version number of the operating system and will fail to run if it finds an unexpected number of version, Windows 7 has so a compatibility mode that allows these types of programs to run correctly.

There is also another option of compatibility oriented informatics professionals and business users called "Windows XP Mode," which is essentially a fully licensed copy of Windows XP Professional running inside a virtual machine and is only available for users of Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 7 Ultimate.

Windows XP Mode is intended mainly for companies who have designed their own internal software that is targeted specifically for a version of the software - an excellent example of this is a web app that only works in Internet Explorer 6 (which is available with Windows XP, but not with Windows 7).

  • Windows 7 Compatibility Mode behavior

I am reproducing this issue I posted earlier, at superuser.com without getting any response. I need to know the answer to this question; more and more of my users have this problem.

    http://superuser.com/questions/743064/Windows-7s-compatibility-mode-behavior

Review the settings of Mode of Application compatibility for a typical Windows program:

The question is: what exactly will happen to the environment (in particular, access to C:\ProgramData) provided by Windows in the program where the only change is to set properties for compatibility with WinXP SP3, as follows:

    The background:

An application that has been updated during the golden age of Windows XP gives us some problems now. Specifically, it is optimized to use a .NET library to write files in a subdirectory in the %ALLUSERSPROFILE% area (on Windows 7, this is generally C:\ProgramData ) which are essential to the license of the application. The files themselves are plain text files.

These text files are created and written to using a much newer and separate program .NET that works without problems, write the files to the right place. But then the old program does not read the files correctly; We have not been able to determine exactly what is happening.

Many users find that setting compatibility mode allows the system to function properly. I need to better understand that much.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site and must be placed on Technet or MSDN

  • Convert a physical compatibility mode raw device mapping to a virtual compatibility mode raw device mapping

    Hello forum,.

I have a virtual machine that got a RDM in physical Compatibility Mode, so I can't create snapshots of this disc.

Is there a way to convert this ROW to a virtual Compatibility Mode to allow the creation of the snapshot?

The client must create a snapshot tomorrow in order to update the database. In case of failure it would be easy to write the snapshot again.

    Hope you understand my problem.

    concerning

    Dennis

Assuming that the RDM is attached to a single virtual computer, see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1006599

Conversely, virtual and physical memory ROW, make sure you have deleted (Clerk) the snapshot before you remove the disk devices to the virtual machine, otherwise you will lose changed data!

  • Remove packages of the JDE Simulator?

Is anyone know how you can remove packages of the JDE list Simulator without uninstalling them? I want to remove all the BONES ' are older that are running in the most recent d (ie the 4.5,4.6,4.7 of the list of Simulator JDE 5.0). After the installation of several packages of Simulator, I had to go back and change the memory allowed in the JDE default 256 / 512 M to 1024M so that the can load up. The only thing I can think of is the simulators causing the JDE in need of more memory for the files of configurations. But I think its crazy to the JDE go on using 256 MB or 1 GB for memory to load and run. And im using Windows 7 for my development environment.

After some checking, it seems that there is some sort of threshold with the installation of the packages of Simulator and the memory required to start the JDE. I had 15 Simulator packages installed and it took 1 GB of memory to load the JDE, but once I removed several that I didn't use and he got up to 9 installed packages, memory fell to the bottom of the preload of 256 MB. But I still have not found a way to delete some individual packages JDE, it seems it's all or none with simulators.

Original title: I have EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005.

I have EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005. Can it be run in Windows 7 for XP SP2 compatibility mode

    Hello

    1. have you played the game on Windows XP Service Pack 2?

    2. it works on Windows XP Service Pack 2?

These two Tiger Woods PGA tour games are compatible with Windows 7.

If it worked before on Windows XP service pack 2, you try to install the Windows XP service pack 2 game, by referring to the following steps:

    (a) make a right click the icon of the file installation.

    (b) click on properties, then click on the Compatibility tab.

    (c) select the compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2.

    (d) click OK.

    (e) run the installer.

Note: After installation, run the program in compatibility mode Windows by doing the same thing with the installed program.

  • A SQL server management studio 2012 error: PERCENTILE_DISC function is not allowed in the current compatibility mode. It can only in mode 110 or higher.

Our company just upgraded to SQL Server Management Studio 2012 and it has been very useful because I needed to use the percentile for the code I wrote. As a first step, the function did not work because I set the compatibility mode 110 level. After that I did, the function worked. However, now it does not work yet, and I get the same error:

The PERCENTILE_DISC function is not allowed in the current compatibility mode. It can only in mode 110 or higher.

I went to the properties of database section, then options and noticed that the compatibility mode has not changed, it is set to "SQL Server 2012 (110). I even used the following code to see if that would help at all even if the compatibility mode is already on this mode:

    ALTER DATABASE Analytics
    SET COMPATIBILITY_LEVEL = 110

Someone already had this problem or knows if I need to change something in the properties of database for this function work? Is this just a bug in the new version?

  • NB - 200 can not handle the compatibility mode for HDD Contoller...

    Hello everyone!
I would like to make it work on my nb 200 ubuntu 10.04 netbook edition netbook. The installation is done, grub works very well (I kept windows xp and have dualboot grub-controlled). Of course, I asked first in the ubuntu forum to solve my problems. I thought it was done, but in fact it wasn't. See the ubuntu forum for more information: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9346966&postcount=1
Switch mode Compatible HARD disk (in bios) controller works great for ubuntu, but Windows XP have problems. XP is launched (I see the Welcome screen), but then the computer restarts. I updated the Bios to version 1.9 (02/2010), but this does not solve my problem.
In the threat of ubuntu, a help very kin (darkod) says:
+ You can try, but if changing the controller type makes a difference, I'm not sure this will help. This seems not related to ubuntu. +
+ I'm surprised change compatible controller made XP no boot. If a hard drive is sata, you, instead, compatibility mode is required to even install XP because it does not include inside SATA drivers. +
+ I guess it depends how the manufacturer put the netbook. +

Thanks in advance for your help.

I tested the functionality of Windows XP Home edition on my Satellite with AHCI mode and if the WXP was preinstalled with the SATA mode enabled it will not work when the mode is replaced by the compatibility option. I get the blue screen every time if I want to start Windows XP Home edition.

I think that you do need to make the decision. If you want to use both operating systems, I think you should change the AHCI mode to compatibility and reinstall Linux and Windows XP Home edition.
Then it works well, but you will not have full disk under Windows XP Home edition as performance when you use the SATA mode.

  • Cannot add properties of jad for the compatibility mode for the COD file metadata.

    Hi all.

I need to disable the application that are installed compatibility mode using the ALX file. I read in an another messages it is possible to add custom file JAD directly properties in the COD file. I tried to create test projects using Blackberry JDE, Blackberry Eclipse plugin generation tools and use Eclipse with ant. Then I tried to add a JAD file for projects and by adding the following properties:

    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode: false
    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode-UserChangeable: true

Also I tried specifying the properties of this:

    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode: 0
    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode-UserChangeable: 1

But it seems that it does not help to automatically avoid compatibility mode for applications that are built using JDE4.2.1 or earlier. I ran the test on Storm 9530 camera with 5.0.0.32 8 preinstalled JDE. I also wipe my phone several times to avoid the capabilities that the compatibility mode settings is saved.

In addition, before installing the application I also checked this jar file compatibility mode properties which was built contained in this manifesto.

Please, anobody can advise which go bad. Or it seems that there is no possibility to implement the solution that are built with the JDE at first then 4.7 and are installed using the ALX file.

I never could get this job.

Sorry, don't know what the deal is.
