IM now running Vista Home Premium 32. I would like to change the system for Vista Ultimate 64 so I can run more than 4 GB of memory. Now Ive some factory settings if something happened, I can run my HARD drive restore. My question is how to change the Vista 64 operating system, so I can keep the recovery on my hard drive partition? Mayby there is some kind of upgrade cd?
Thank you
Hello
32-bit to 64-bit is not an upgrade
It must be done with a clean installation using a full version ' / Ultimate 64 bit license
Contact the manufacturer of your computer for more information on getting 64-bit ultimate, which I doubt they will always
and microsoft sells more vista
they moved on windows 7
and you are supposed to make this partition recovery disks to reinstall vista

E1505 with Vista operating system repeatedly lose the connection network through a router WRT54G
Model: Dell E1505
OS: Vista Edition Home Premium
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5300, 1.73 GHz
Device of wireless network: Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini Card
Wireless router: Linksys WRT54G
My E1505 has a problem with the Wi - Fi being dropped at least twice a day / every day with an average of seven hours of use per day. Almost identical to several offers from others, as I'm surfing the web and try to access another site, the connection just drops and I get the white screen indicating a network connection cannot be made. Meanwhile, my utility for wireless LAN card reflects that I have a connection 'very strong' or even 'excellent '. The only way to connect is to restart the computer. I did a lot of research on the Internet and tried all the suggested actions to solve the problem (changing the settings of the power of the highest performance, by changing the channel of the router, updated drivers, etc.), but none of them have cured the problem. I also spent more than 12 hours to talk or have a Dell technician remotely access my laptop to try and fix the problem, but nothing helped. In the end, the so-called expert technician said they did everything possible and suggested I reload Vista on my computer again, or wait for the Vista Service Pack comes out with the hope that the problem is solved.
Can someone please! It seems that I left without other alternatives, but to spend the next eight hours, reload all my programs that are inexcusable.
Thanks in advance for your help.

have w 120 GB HD on 60 GB free DVD have 32 and 64, as well as 2 DVDs with Office 2007 Ultimate. Could save the address book and all the other files, I want to keep and remove up to a 32-bit skeleton and then install a 64 bit os nude and would only be concerned on my ISP software as I have Comcast XFinity digital phone and Internet and a digital HD video recorder a 1986 Radio Shack Color TV at the wheel (the 1986 $500 that was a beauty for its time and is still.) My PC is an emachines T3616 and I have 2 GB of RAM installed (max) it is possible in this way?
Hi Herman,.
You can try to use Windows Easy Transfer to transfer data and settings to C: on D: drive and install Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit on the C: drive. After installing Windows Vista 64 bit on C: drive try to reuse Windows Easy transfer to transfer the data back (from D: to C: drive).
You can also take an external data backup before you attempt the Installation of Windows Vista.

Upgrading to Windows 7 from Vista to get rid of the Virus?
I currently have VISTA, but I just got the CD to upgrade Windows 7 from my school, its necessities by my program (paid with the included activation key). I would like to format my whole hard drive and do a clean install of Windows 7 from scratch. One, I wanted to Windows 7 on the PC anyway and two, I don't know that a good formatting should help get rid of this annoying virus I had trouble with for so long. However, keep in mind that I have only a Windows 7 'Upgrade CD', not the 'full' Version It let me install 7 times I do the formatting, or it only allows me to 'upgrade' to a currently installed operating system? I really wouldn't want to format my drive together and get stuck without being able to install Windows 7. I hope my question is clear. Please let me know if I need to be more specific. Thank you!
Do not reformat the entire disk (leave the partition recovery and system, partitions reserved in place). Then, follow these instructions and be perpaired to activate by phone. Your only other option is to reinstall Vista and then you pass, this can do less annoying activation.
How to activate Windows 7 or Vista manually (activate by phone)
1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
(2) press the ENTER"" key.
(3) select your "country" in the list.
(4) choose the option "activate phone".
5) stay on the phone (do not select/press options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation. Also:

Error install Vista Service Pack 2 and the incompatibility of Realtek
I just want to inform you that service pack 2 install gave me an error message when I installed it on a clean rebuild of my PC Toshiba laptop. Something about an incompatible driver. As I had already installed the latest drivers Toshiba pages, I chose the action 'ignore and continue' to install and the update has been completed successfully.
I then ran the utility Advisor upgrade of Windows (search just a Microsoft Web site to find) that checks the hardware/driver with Vista.
Their report indicates that the card Realtek RTL8187B wireless network driver has a problem with Vista and recommends to install the latest version of the driver. Since I do not have the latest Toshiba driver installed, what is the procedure to follow?
The WiFi with this computer functions laptop, with the only "problem" being a second 45 delay to the awakening of the mode shall be able to open a new web page. This is the time it takes to establish a connection to a router/modem.
> Their report indicates that the card Realtek RTL8187B wireless network driver has a problem with Vista and recommends to install the latest version of the driver. Since I do not have the latest Toshiba driver installed, what is the procedure to follow?
You can try the page of the Realtek driver Realtek WLan driver.
There you can find the latest Realtek drivers for different chips Realtek. But to be honest, I wouldn't be worried about this massage.
Something like this can happen after all installations of Microsoft service packs.I remember that many pilots have not been substantiated by SP1 but they ran correctly
So take it easy ;)

When drivers Vista will be available for the M400?
I have a M400 "Windows Vista Capable", but some of the XP drivers do not work on Vista. The most annoying is the fingerprint software. When can we expect to see Vista compatible drivers?
Hi craig
You do know that Windows Vista is not official on the market.
It is not possible to buy a full working properly vista OS at this time.
I think that if Vista will be made official and Toshiba will support this OS you'll find drivers on the Toshiba site. But right now there's nothing to do. -
Re: Vista will not start after the installation of update
About 2 days ago I updated 2 Optional updates through windows update. It was - Input - Synaptics Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad
and somethind to do with sound hdmi (don't know why I got this update ' cos I do not have a hdmi and I accidentally installed it as well).
After that installs Vista won't start so I did a restore of the system in safe mode, and she came back to life, however, isn't in better shape, will probably not not to install Vista all over again.
So be careful when you install these updates. It's weird that they came with windows update. As much I know usually windows update does not update if not needed harddrivers...
You need to update your hardware drivers from the Drivers Toshiba download site and not from Windows update because no one knows if they interfere with the drivers of Toshiba.

How can satellite L300-19U - I reinstall Vista without having to work the DVD player?
Hello
I have a big problem with my laptop Toshiba Satellite L300-19U.
1 month ago I installed Windows XP on it and it is now my DVD-ROM is broken, he did not read some CD DVD so I can't use my Vista recovery DVD reinstall Vista. Someone at - it had the same problem?
I heard there is a partition (hiden) where recovery is on it. I'm looking for this partition. And if I find it, I can boot directly from the partition to restore Vista? If not, is there another chance to get it back?
Please help me to reinstall the Vista recovery partition!
Hello!
The hidden partition you want to say is a feature of Windows Vista, but you can restore t Vista with this partition. The point is that the partition is also deleted because you have installed Windows XP on it.
Restore Vista without recovery disc is possible if Vista is still installed on it. You can go into the advanced boot menu, and then select Repair my computer. Then you can choose the Toshiba HDD recovery option. This is a feature that restores Vista from the second partition.
But like I said is possible with Vista installed.Just a question: why you n t to a service provider allowed? If your laptop is still under warranty, you should get a new CD/DVD drive for free. Normally it should take only a few days and then you're able to reinstall Vista! :)

Vista 64 bit will be the total value of 4 GB of memory on the Satellite P100-324
I installed 4 GB of RAM on my P100-324 and updated the BIOS with the latest update. Install Vista 64 view all of 4 GB and be able to use it?
Hello
Due to the 32 bit OS limitation of the 32-bit Vista is not able to see all of 4 GB memory system.
As mentioned that there is a lack of 32-bit operating system.I have not tested if the same question will appear on the 64 bit OS, but I assume that the 64 bit Vista should recognize all of 4GB of memory.
But I m very interesting to hear other options. Maybe someone has already installed the Vista 64 bit OS on the unit with 4 GB of memory.
Best regards

Windows Vista Service Pack 2 causes the message "Windows install will not be accessible".
I am running Windows Vista with all the updates installed but Service Pack 2. I uninstalled Service Pack 2 because it was causing problems with the windows installation service. I was unable to install microsoft office update because the windows installer could not be accessed, and Adobe Acrobat Reader could not be repaired or updated for the same reason.
With installed Service Pack 2, I traveled all troubleshooting for the windows service install. I have a click with the right button on my computer, manage, service and open the properties of windows install. I have activated the service, but still couldn't install the updates Microsoft office or Adobe Acrobat Reader update/repair. I also tried to configure windows install automatic rather than manual when the computer starts.
I had the problem "Windows install is not be available" for nearly a year. After trying to do a repair Vista boot without result, I uninstalled all updates. The problem disappeared. I decided to install the updates one by one. After you have installed Service Pack 2, the problem with windows install returned. The Service Pack installs completely and then open my computer properties indicates that Vista runs with Service Pack 2 installed.
Uninstall Service Pack 2 and blocking automatic updates will not install it was my only solution to the issue of "Windows install is not be accessible". I fear that it may cause a security flaw in my computer, however.
If someone has encountered this problem, and if so, is there a solution to install Service Pack 2 for my windows service install still works correctly?
Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are known to not uninstall (or upgraded) themselves. Composition of such problems, Geek Squad is also infamous for having failed to download/run the Norton removal tool before installing another AV app or security suite! The 'leftovers' Norton may have caused your post-SP2 installation problem.
1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).
3. click right on the file saved in #1 above, and then select run as administrator to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.
4. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run it in DEFAULT and modes difficulty then AGGRESSIVE. [1]
5. restart & test (i.e. display SP2 & install it again). [2]
TIP: Temporarily disable Sunbelt Vipre Antivirus before installing SP2. If you still encounter problems after installing SP2 again, open a free support by my previous response incident.
