If the HR server database goes down, RH server down also?

Hi experts. I have a few questions to HR Server:

  1. Assuming that the HR server database fails, or at least it has connection to the database fails. What would be the consequences. In other words, would the HR server crash and do not serve anything. Or would it just be that reports are more accessible, etc..
  2. Has anyone used RH Server (installed on a Win 7 system) connected to an instance of SQL Server Express (installed on another system of Win 7 spread the CPU load).

My Manager is very wary of the free database option (for performance and reliability reasons), but there is no way that we will spend almost 20 K$ on SQL Server or Oracle DB. So, I would like to dispel concerns about the SQL Express Service option.

Thanks in advance.

-Kurt

  1. Server HR * is * an application focused on the database and as such it requires a base of data either to the top and working to serve content as reports.
  2. Your computer raises some good points. I used the 'SQL Express' version without problems. As your computer scientist knows, there are some connection and the size of Microsoft limitations on its use. Otherwise, it would be better than access and assuming it fits the other requirements of DB/OS combination that I noted in the links above.
  3. Unless something has changed, the server open source Apache Tomcat itself does not support 'Load Balancing' and so I don't think that you can "spread the CPU load. Although I'm not this network warned, so a call to Adobe support (asking to be remounted for server-specific HR assistance) to check it would be a good idea. That said, I know that agencies that have set up configurations "fault tolerance" satisfactorily (but can not be more precise than that.)

  • Use of the SQL Server Agent

    Hello

    Lack of VMWare VirtualCenter Server 2.5.0.64207 on a Windows 2003 R2 SP2, SQL Server 2005 System. It is the only significant application on the system, and VirtualCenterDB is the only database.

    We see that the system is running very slowly, both regarding the response time in the Console of the Infrastructure of VMWare and the response time for all other programs that you happen to run. For example, the MMC administration tools take a long time to start or respond to clicks.

    PerfMon shows fairly low CPU usage, but the queue of average drive about 170.

    However, the problem disappears if we stop the SQL Server Agent service. The average disk queue goes down to about 2.

    I don't want to always leave the SQL Server Agent is turned off, because it is necessary to perform periodic maintenance. Is there a way to tell why the readers of SQL Server Agent use so much disk space?  Given that VirtualCenterDB is our unique database, I suspect that the problem is specific to VMWare.

    Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

    These jobs move data from system of VPX_HIST_STAT1 to VPX_HIST_STAT2 then VPX_HIST_STAT3 then VPX_HIST_STAT4 and finally remove the data from your database.   These tables to the expectations of the performance data for your hosts and virtual machines and jobs here correspond to the data of the basic performance levels than your game in the VI client when connected to your vCenter server.  It is important to keep these tasks to make sure that your weekly, monthly and annual data are properly maintained.

    You have a database maintenance task that rebuilt the index?  If this isn't the case, then it is perhaps probably caused performance issues.  Without up-to-date indexes, SQL Server will be compelled to resort to analysis of tables when looking for data that can significantly increase the disk i/o.

  • The upgrade of database 10g to 11g with minimal downtime?

    Hi all

    We want to improve our 10.2.0.4 RAC database for 11.2.0.3 linux linux RAC. We have two different servers, where one is the production server (10.2.0.4) and another is the 11.2.0.3 Server.

    Here, we want to minimize downtime of the production database.

    Our db size is close to 1 TB. If we turn to the traditional method of upgradation as given below, then it will take nearly 15 hours:

    1. take RMAN 10 g bkp.

    2. transfer to server 11 g.

    3. restore the db.

    4. set at the database level.

    I had two methods to minimize the downtime that arise as follows, but I'm not sure that these means are feasible or not...

    1st method:

    Our server of db source here is 10.2.0.4 and target db server is 11.2.0.3.

    1. create a DR on the target server. (10.2.0.4)

    -Here we have installed the software (stand-alone) db to 10.2.0.4 on the target server, but also some 11.2.0.3 rac linux.

    -All data of Dr. files will be filesystem (not on ASM).

    Synchronize the database of production with the Dominican Republic.

    2. break the DR and turn it on.

    3 close the db and move the datafiles of the DR to ASM storage (11.2.0.3)

    4. start PB with option upgrade and update.

    It will take nearly 5 hours.

    2nd method:

    -Install the software grid 11g and 10g and 11 g db Server db software target.

    -We set up DR as first method but the grid HERE home will be 11 g and db House will be 10 g.

    -Now we will synchronize the DR with data base of production.

    -to activate the 10g database (target server)

    -will restart the database 11g House and then we will modernize it.

    Here I want to know that is it possible to create a DR with the following configuration?

    Production DB is 10.2.0.4 and DR is configured with 11g grid and g 10 db House.

    Kindly give your entries...

    Kind regards

  • View the connections of the server to connect to the Security Server 5.2

    So, I wonder if it is anyway possible to not expose a subnet of office to the DMZ during the deployment of a security server?  I think remember me, there was a way to have the tunnel of security server all traffic through the connection to the server, but for the life of me, I can't seem to understand.

    Even in your previous PoC you should always have allowed some ports (PCoIP, RDP if use you it and the frame channel) from the server security for virtual offices. This has always been the case.

    The role of the Security Server is to protect exposure of desktop to the Internet. It provides a monitoring of protocols of the Internet (for example PCoIP) so make it succeed to check if the traffic is in the name of an authenticated user, and to ensure that if it is valid, it is transmitted over an office whose user is authorized to access. It is important to configure your internal firewall so that Office (PCoIP etc.) protocols can come only security servers. Then you give the required insurance. If such packets only packets UDP PCoIP arrive in your DMZ that are not on behalf of an authenticated user and then they are ignored in the DMZ without ever be passed in your data center. You know that all protocols for virtual desktops have been validated by the Security server.

    The Security server should also communicate with the login server and that's why you should also allow JMS, AJP13, and IPsec through. These should be only to the servers again only from servers to security and connection.

    You can always route the PCoIP packages through a proxy in your data center, but the security required inspection happens before that the Security Server so that eventually they can be thrown into the demilitarized zone.

  • Documents outside of the Web server folder

    Hello

    At my institution, we have access to readers who are with a to in size.  We have a lot of documents, we plan to scan and save "online".  Currently, our web servers are relatively low, the I'm on now is only 20 GB and it is almost complete.

    Can I upload documents via a web page on a drive that is not on the web server and also to build a page that links to these documents so that users can open them?

    Thank you

    First of all, you should ' t use a url var in a path.  This led to attacks from crossing of directory.

    Here's how you can do this job...

    • First of all, make sure that CF runs as a specific user.  It should be already if the guid of lockdown was followed.
    • Take the same references that CF is running (username/password) and create an identical account on the server where the files are stored.
    • Create a share on the server for the files giving the user of CF to read permissions
    • Modify your code to use a UNC path for the file.

  • How do you get alerts if your mail server goes down?

    I have send and text alerts sent via my server Exchange but is it built to send alerts in case our email server goes down? Foglight has a mechanism to send alerts that do not require a mail server?

    Hello

    Yes... Make sure that the failover on monitoring of Server SMTP is selected in the Config > Admin > SMTP settings area. This will continue to route alerts through our mail server, in which case your crashes.

  • After changing the port (1521 to 1525 in listener.ora and tnsnames.ora) OEM: the database is down

    Hello

    I'm installing Oracle Database 11 g 2 (11.2.0.4) on Oracle Linux 7.1.

    In short, what I'm trying to do now is changing the default port of 1521 to 1525.

    So I stopped the listener (lsnrctl stop) and then changed my listener.ora and tnsnames.ora:

    Listener.ora

    listener.ora # Network Configuration file: /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/listener.ora

    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

    LISTENER =

    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = CIP)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))

    )

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP (PORT = 1525))(HOST = localhost))

    )

    )

    ADR_BASE_LISTENER = / u01/app/oracle

    tnsnames.ora

    tnsnames.ora # Network Configuration file: /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/tnsnames.ora

    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

    BI =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS_LIST =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP (PORT = 1525))(HOST = localhost))

    )

    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (SERVER = DEDICATED)

    (SERVICE_NAME = bi)

    )

    )

    And then changed the local_listener:

    SQL > ALTER SYSTEM SET LOCAL_LISTENER = "(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST=localhost) (PORT = 1525))";

    SQL > ALTER the REGISTRY SYSTEM;

    Finally, I started the listener (lsnrctl start) again.

    Then I tried to connect using Oracle SQL Developer to the customer. The port of 1525 works perfectly well.

    The problem is, when I open the OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager), it says: "the database is down. Please specify the credentials of the host to access the restart and database diagnostic tools," which is like this: http://imgur.com/oKLPW65

    So I logged on the account of the host, and it shows that the database instance, listener and the agent is all down like this: http://imgur.com/Bzr84bz

    It seems that the port used by the OEM is always 1521.

    What should I do? Can someone help me solve the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    UPDATE:

    After changing the emoms.properties & the targets.xml (thanks to Elisabeth), you will need to reconfigure dbconsole using emca.

    So what I'm doing is decreasing the config:

    $ emca - deconfig dbcontrol db-rest drop

    and then create again:

    $ emca - create config dbcontrol db-rest

    Voila.

    Best regards

    Hello

    Try to change the port numbers in the following files

    Don't port no 1521 to 1525

    $ORACLE_HOME /_SID/sysman/config/emoms.properties

    oracle.sysman.eml.mntr.emdRepPort = 1525 (before 1521)

    $ORACLE_HOME /_SID/sysman/emd/targets.xml

    (Before 1521)

    (Before 1521)

  • What happens if the network goes down when the broker DataGurad (with fast failover) is configured?

    Hello Experts,

    We have configured Dataguard in our environment, now anxious as the broker. But we have some queries.

    1. what happens if primary fails (failover or passage)?

    2-if failover occurs, go back manually when the primary is available?

    3-if Eve falls down, how would react broker?

    4 - If the network goes down (for any reason) for some time, observer cant find primary and standby, how would he react then?

    Please help me with your advice.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Vignacourt zerwali.

    Hi David,

    Let me put in a way if I understand your question. So, you have broker + observer configured in your environment. FSFO occurred which means your watch becomes primary and is running. Then after some main real-time is alive and what will be the observer will do here. ? right. ?,...

    If my interpretation is correct, here is the answer,

    (i) when the old primary remains alive, just bring up the State. The observer resets automatically (if its market) the database, bounce the old primary and synchronize with the new primary (i.e. your old database pending). But remember that your old primary will undergo sleep role yet...

    After the process described above,

    (II) If you want that your old primary again, we have to do a manual failover to get your old configuration.

    Hope he would have deleted you. !!

    Kind regards

  • Load the XML data to the UNIX server directly to Tables of database relational

    Is there a way I can load some data from an XML file in the Oracle Tables, without going through the input file XML in a directory of the Oracle server. My XML file resides on the UNIX application server. And I need to load the data directly into database tables. Without load them into the database directory.

    Also, I'm looking for a solution that would not load my database much and affect other processes running. Can be done using SQL Loader?

    Oracle database version: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64 bit Production

    Thanks for the companions of answers!

    There I helped to learn a lot of options.

    But the easiest using UNIX server that worked for me was to use an XSLT transformation to convert the XML file to a delimited file. (Load the unix server, save the Oracle resources).

    UNIX 'xsltproc' feature was not a bad option.

    Then use SQL Loader to load into tables.

    Bravo!
