IFILE

Hello

What is the purpose of IFILE in oracle when it wil use

Hello
IFile is a parameter that you use in your init file to point to another pfile file that contains all the parameters of your. In your pfile 'initSID.ora' file, you add after line

iFile = / day_pfile.ora

This will make your database so that it starts with this settings file. Then, you edit pfile as follows

iFile = / night_pfile.ora

the names of your actual settings files that also explain why you want to use IFILE. If you have several settings files and sometimes you want to use a specific file with the init parameters and a few times that you want to use different settings with different settings file, so you can use the ifile parameter in your init file mail mentioning what parameter file you want to actually use.

    The task is to create a <CONTEXT_NAME>_ifile.ora .   and listener_ifile.ora.

    These files are required?  I check from its parent listener.ora and tnsnames.ora files and I see that thay are just redundant?

    Their content also exist in the parent file?

    Please enlighten if I need these files.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

    Because they are many DBA worldwide and with different standard environment maintained (custom) for them, so in order to solve the complexity (or instead of change/complicate things), they give flexibility as inputs plug-in and plug-out to file (with ifile as subset). So that they can add or just throw will be a comment in tnsnames.ora based switch above and switch back.

  • Ifile in tnsnames.ora/listener.ora

    Hello

    I find IFILE entered my listener.ora of applications and tnsnames.ora oracle database.

    What is the use of IFILE? I hear that the entries in IFILE are not overnwritten using autoconfig. Is this true?

    We create the tnsentries of other databses in ifile.

    Someone could give advice.

    Correct, and it is the use of the IFILE (i.e. create entries that must be preserved and not affected or overwritten by the automatic configuration service.

  • Directives IFILE in tnsnames.ora give seemingly harmless errors

    I have a tnsnames.ora file on my local machine that contains a number of directives IFILE, that seems to cause a lot of errors in logging in SQL Developer Page (I use 1.5.4, but the behavior has been consistent since the beta releases).

    My tnsnames.ora file is just a pointer to other files tnsnames.ora, i.e.
    # tnsnames.ora Network Configuration File: c:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

    IFILE = c:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\Network\Admin\tnsnames.ora.project1
    IFILE = c:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\Network\Admin\tnsnames.ora.clientFoo
    This makes it easier for me to have the client or project specific TNSNames.ora files can I share (or borrow) to other people without having to manually edit a giant single file which combines information from several clients.

    Everytime I open SQL Developer, I get an error in the Page log at the bottom of the screen for each entry IFILE where

    Level = SEVERE
    Sequence = 53
    Elapsed = 63
    Source = oracle.dbtools.raptor.utils.TNSHelper
    Ifile = message not found c:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\Network\Admin\tnsnames.ora.project1

    As far as I know, this is no problem for me - I can connect with happiness to all databases. Of course, I'd like to be able to avoid generating all these errors every time.

    Justin

    Hi Justin,

    I see the error when it is unable to load the file because space.

    It looks like a problem with trim white space:
    works for me (no space after the =): IFILE = / home/turlochcurrent/separation/tmp/testtnsnames/dontfindme
    does not work for me (extra space after the =): IFILE = / home/turlochcurrent/separation/tmp/testtnsnames/dontfindme

    which is buggy/fixed easily if you can confirm that this workaround works around your question.

  • PC crashes with DBO when downloading a file using Firefox to my iPad

    PC crashes with DBO when downloading a large file via WiFi to my iPad and using AVPlayerHD player on the iPad. There is no report of error in Firefox, just the crash dump Windows 7 due to the accident. Only the combination of Firefox on PC and player AVPlayerHD on iPad causes this crash. Any other combination of PC and iPad works.
    Examples:
    Firefox on PC and iFile on iPad works well.
    Google Chrome on PC works with all programs on iPad.
    Firefoc on PC and player AVPlayerHD on iPad crashes.

    So you get a Blue Screen of Death on your Windows Machine? You have the exact error codes that appear when you get this blue screen?

    Blue screens mean that you have a problem with a driver, hardware or virus on your PC, not with Firefox. I try to launch a program of analysis such as http://www.resplendence.com/whocrashedand see if she can tell you what triggered the accident. Also, make sure that all your drivers are up to date on your computer (especially the graphics driver: update your drivers graphics to use hardware acceleration and WebGL) and check the virus (Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware).

    After that, if you still get the blue screen and crashed does not help, I would say to try to test your RAM with a utility such as http://www.memtest.org/

    It drives me crazy! I wrote a small utility to help me with some issues that we are dealing with in the House and he made that move the jpg of the memory of the device on the SD card. The problem I encounter is that there are 57 files on this particular device and my code will copy only 8 files before the slightest error on.  I have marked the place where the problem is with 'TODO' If you want to find the place in the code below.  Basically, it fails when creating the file 9.  I checked the space SD card - that's fine.  I used a different set of files and it still does not work on the file 9.  The file names are very simple, so no problem there.  That's all just weird.

    You can close your connections and streams in the 'finally' section to make sure that they close.

    You close the stream, just the connections. You can close the stream too to be sure. BlackBerry has a limit on the number of open connections, you can have.

    It should also be a message with your IOException. Check the log output

    Thanks in advance

    Firstly, thank you for posting the 10g implementation plan, which was one of the key things that we were missing.

    Second, you realize that you have completely different execution plans, so you can expect different behavior on each system.

    Your package of 10g has a total cost of 23 959 while your plan of 12 c has a cost of 95 373 which is almost 4 times more.  All things being equal, cost is supposed to relate directly to the time spent, so I expect the 12 c plan to take much more time to run.

    From what I can see the 10g plan begins with a scan of full table on DEALERS, and then a full scan on SCARF_VEHICLE_EXCLUSIONS table, and then a full scan on CBX_tlemsani_2000tje table, and then a full scan on CLAIM_FACTS table.  The first three of these analyses tables have a very low cost (2 each), while the last has a huge cost of 172K.  Yet once again, the first three scans produce very few lines in 10g, less than 1,000 lines each, while the last product table scan 454 K lines.

    It also looks that something has gone wrong in the 10g optimizer plan - maybe a bug, which I consider that Jonathan Lewis commented.  Despite the full table scan with a cost of 172 K, NESTED LOOPS it is part of the only has a cost of 23 949 or 24 K.  If the math is not in terms of 10g.  In other words, maybe it's not really optimal plan because 10g optimizer may have got its sums wrong and 12 c might make his right to the money.  But luckily this 'imperfect' 10g plan happens to run fairly fast for one reason or another.

    The plan of 12 starts with similar table scans but in a different order.  The main difference is that instead of a full table on CLAIM_FACTS scan, it did an analysis of index on CLAIM_FACTS_AK9 beach at the price of 95 366.  It is the only main component of the final total cost of 95 373.

    Suggestions for what to do?  It is difficult, because there is clearly an anomaly in the system of 10g to have produced the particular execution plan that he uses.  And there is other information that you have not provided - see later.

    You can try and force a scan of full table on CLAIM_FACTS by adding a suitable example suspicion "select / * + full (CF) * / cf.vehicle_chass_no...". "However, the tips are very difficult to use and does not, guarantee that you will get the desired end result.  So be careful.  For the essay on 12 c, it may be worth trying just to see what happens and what produces the execution plan looks like.  But I would not use such a simple, unique tip in a production system for a variety of reasons.  For testing only it might help to see if you can force the full table on CLAIM_FACTS scan as in 10g, and if the performance that results is the same.

    The two plans are parallel ones, which means that the query is broken down into separate, independent steps and several steps that are executed at the same time, i.e. several CPUS will be used, and there will be several readings of the disc at the same time.  (It is a mischaracterization of the works of parallel query how).  If 10g and 12 c systems do not have the SAME hardware configuration, then you would naturally expect different time elapsed to run the same parallel queries.  See the end of this answer for the additional information that you may provide.

    But I would be very suspicious of the hardware configuration of the two systems.  Maybe 10 g system has 16-core processors or more and 100's of discs in a matrix of big drives and maybe the 12 c system has only 4 cores of the processor and 4 disks.  That would explain a lot about why the 12 c takes hours to run when the 10 g takes only 30 minutes.

    Remember what I said in my last reply:

    "Without any contrary information I guess the filter conditions are very low, the optimizer believes he needs of most of the data in the table and that a table scan or even a limited index scan complete is the"best"way to run this SQL.  In other words, your query takes just time because your tables are big and your application has most of the data in these tables. "

    When dealing with very large tables and to do a full table parallel analysis on them, the most important factor is the amount of raw hardware, you throw the ball to her.  A system with twice the number of CPUS and twice the number of disks will run the same parallel query in half of the time, at least.  It could be that the main reason for the 12 c system is much slower than the system of 10g, rather than on the implementation plan itself.

    You may also provide us with the following information which would allow a better analysis:

    • Row counts in each tables referenced in the query, and if one of them are partitioned.
    • Hardware configurations for both systems - the 10g and the 12 a.  Number of processors, the model number and speed, physical memory, CPU of discs.
    • The discs are very important - 10g and 12 c have similar disk subsystems?  You use simple old records, or you have a San, or some sort of disk array?  Are the bays of identical drives in both systems?  How are they connected?  Fast Fibre Channel, or something else?  Maybe even network storage?
    • What is the size of the SGA in both systems?  of values for MEMORY_TARGET and SGA_TARGET.
    • The fact of the CLAIM_FACTS_AK9 index exist on the system of 10g.  I guess he does, but I would like that it confirmed to be safe.

  • How to overcome ORA-12154 on afdbprf.sh and adcrobj.sh in Autoconfig

    I'm cloning a database uses the same set of scripts I used for two years without problems.  This, however, when I ran adcfgclone.pl dbconfig it failed during the automatic configuration.  The error is Autoconfig 2 status while the detail in the paper shows ORA-12154.

    I put the code in the templates afdbprf.sh and adcrobj.sh at the exit of the connection, connection and env, which look all right.  I can use this same set up the environment to run the sql code requested in these shell scripts and it connects fine.  This left me in the lurch because why this behavior in adconfig.

    I'm under EBS 12.1.3 on RDBMS Oracle Linux 11.2.0.3.  I created an SR that has proved so far a vain effort as the first, I was told to use a different document because I am on EBS 11.5.9, that I had to correct them, and then I was told to apply 7 different patches and let them know when I did when 4 of these patches have for database 12 c 1 was a fix for what one of the hotfixes 12 c breaks, another was for CARS and we are autonomous, and the last was a component of specific applications difficulty when our question database layer.  In other words, none of them applied, and despite sending newspapers, there is no indication that the analyst tried to identify the problem yet.

    I hope that the community here may be able to give assistance to help me go beyond this issue, or at least still identifying a root ask so I can find a solution.

    I will close this thread claiming that rename the ifile so that custom parameters are eliminated, and their restaurant then at the end the clone was the solution.  It takes a client specific configuration so autoconfig works with generic parameter sets, he expects.  The ifile can be renamed after the clone so they can be used by the finished system.

  • lyingWhen application of a fix via ADOPTION, he failed with the AutoPatch error: you must be in Maintenance Mode to apply the patches.

    Everything by applying the patch Patch 18345006 as explained in Doc 1981206.1 , in the phase to apply it, I get the error

    AutoPatch error:

    You must be in Maintenance Mode to apply the patches.

    You can use the AD Administration utility to set the Maintenance Mode.

    I'm on Oracle EBS 12.2.4, Windows 2008 R2 x 64, 2 appl_tops not shared and the error occurs on the primart node.

    How I applied the patch

    source, run fs

    adoption phase = apply patches = 18345006 = no allnodes

    The issue was that my tns ifile was entered incorrectly for _PATCH entered tns. After having corrected the phase to APPLY fine.

    Apparently, the maintenance mode error is just a smoke screen

  • Creation of Eve earphone

    Hi all

    RHEL5

    I'm still very confused how to create a listener of Eve physics dataguard

    Is it possible to copy the listener to db primary source and replace the SID names?

    For example, to the standby server:

    The docs told me to add the following entries in the file "listener.ora.

    )

    -------------------------------------------------------------
