  Got a solution guys. The new transparency is the problem. Go to System Preferences > accessibility, and select reduce transparency. It should work.

  

• Illustrator CS4 PSD files import problem

  I suddenly have trouble cleaning importing Illustrator CS4 files in Photoshop CS4.  I use these products for years and have done this hundreds of times without difficulty.  But all of a sudden, the resulting files are not smoothed.

  Illustrator files are saved with the PDF compatibility option checked.  I tried to place them (and by engaging - I know they're looking bad but clean after validation) and I tried to paste from Illustrator.  Not here are the relatively simple files with no font - text only - and no transparency or effects.  I also tried to save as EPS files, but without success.  I took to export PNG since Illustrator files and import that.

  I'm short on a recent Mac tower with a lot of everything.  OS x 10.6.7 and everything is up-to-date.  Adobe Creative Suite CS4.

  Could something has been corrupted?  Something might be interfering?  Is there a setting preference-"Import Illustrator files nicely" which must be marketed?

  When you place an EPS, PDF file or HAVE - there is an option in the options toolbar that says "smoothing". Make sure it's on.

  If you open a file in EPS, PDF or AI - there is a checkbox in the first dialog box that asks you the page number, resolution, etc. that says 'Anti-Aliasing (in the Page Options group). Make sure it's on.

• Illustrator CS4 "Save as PDF" Glitch

  I use illustrator adobe CS4 on mac OS X 10.6.5 snow lepord

  Whenever I have a file I or any type of file and want to use the option "save under", when I select illustrator PDF completely freezes. I have to force quit and then restart to resume work.

  My work around was to save as a file, open the file in adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and "save under" PDF through this program. It works every time. But the option "save under" PDF in illustrator crashes whenever I use it.

  Does anyone else have this problem?

  What model Mac? How much RAM? How much free space on your drive to work?

  You can also try this

  1. quit Illustrator.
  2. go to user/username/Library/Preferences/Adobe illustrator CS4 Settings and parameters, the entire record of the trash not only the contents of the folder...
  3. launch Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.

  Hey people,

  You have a strange problem this morning from my copy of Illustrator CS4 work, a large number of icons on the toolbar when you have daubed for some reason any? See the image below for what I mean, when you click and hold on one of them family tools are also smeared, they all seem to work very well, you mind.

  

  If anyone has had this problem and don't know a solution? I rebooted the system, update CS4, windows update, update of the graphics driver

  I running design premium CS4 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a Dell Precision T5500, Xeon E5520 processor with 12 GB of Ram and a Nvidia Quadro FX1800 if that's any help to anyone.

  I think it was the conflict any more as a plug-in hardware.

  However if she just started to happen it might be something to do with a setting in either the drivers of the card or Illustrator or the system

  You can try toreset your settings by pressing control, alt, and shift keys (all 3 together) when you start Illustrator.

  That resets the settings or you can move or delete the settings folder if it does not help, sometimes, something else in the folder is damaged.

  This may also be a conflict with a policy, if you have installed or updated software up-to-date recentlyI suspect this software or the police. Do you have free fonts recently used in a document?

  Here's how you can find and remove the settings foder

  1. quit Illustrator.
  2. rename the AIPrefs file (for example, to AIPrefs.old) user / AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS3 Settings(user)folder.
  3. launch Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.

  4. you can also just trash this record if the new preferences work very well. Also, if this does not work then move the entire Adobe Illustrator CS3 settings folder to another location like your desktop for temporary storage Illustrator will create a new folder with all the elements required in the folder and the settings will be cool by default.

  However, if there is a conflict or hardware issues this will probably not help.

  If you do not find the to this place, do a search for it.

  Also, if you have moved the computer or installed any hardware in your office could be map is in place is more well, the card isn't quite right or the display could be funny or goes funny. But I do not.

• Illustrator CS4 will not run under Snow Leopard

  I just did a clean install of Snow Leopard on my Mac. Here's what I did.

  (1) installed Snow Leopard 10.6

  (2) installed all the updates of OS X (including 10.6.1)

  (3) installed Quark Xpress-8.12

  (4) installed Adobe CS4 Design Standard

  (5) installed all updates of Adobe (no updates associated with Illustrator)

  (6) installed Extensis Suitcase Fusion 2 (v13.2.1)

  Photoshop starts very well.

  When I launch Illustrator it crashes just after the start screen is displayed.

  Any ideas please?

  Couldn't find anything on the Internet really - if cannot get a response soon, so I have to go back to the leopard .

  I would suspect suitcase and maybe a corrupt police could be the cause of this problem and the database is corrupt.

  However before any attempt of software really point the finger this removes all the unnecessary fonts then

  to do this

  first Illustrator altogether and then;

  I go to the users/username/Library/preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS4 Settings folder and trash this settings folder.
  then see if Illustrator works well. If this is not the case, try a new user account if it works very well under a new user so I think it's the police database.

• Can't get the upgrade to Illustrator CS4 to work with Freehand.

  There is no option for the upgrade of everything except CS, CS2, CS3. Adobe Announces Illustrator CS4 can be upgraded from Freehand MX, 10, 9, but fail to offer an option to enter a number on the fly during installation.

  can someone please confirm that Illustrator (CS4) has problems (rounding errors) when you use millimeters?

  Try this if you want to:

  -Establish a setting general millimeter (preferences/units & display perf.)

  -Select the area Increments keyboard for 1 mm (preferences/general)

  -Set all 4mm (preferences/guides & grid) grid

  -Define the Subdivisions on 4 (preferences/guides & grid)

  -Create new Document (A4/mm)

  -Turn on: see the grid and snap to grid

  -Switch on the Panel info (Ctrl + F8)

  -Draw a rectangle or something else you like...

  Use keyboard up/down/left/right several times and observe the inconsistency... the object move sometimes 1 mm, sometimes 2 mm.

  Also show small fractions of millimetres instead of full millimetres (i.e. 157.999)

  I think that it is a serious mistake... because when you move items I prefer to use the keyboard... and with that, I'm never sure that the object move exactly the amount that I'm telling you what it...

  BTW. This problem will not occur if I use points to instead millimeters... for my part think in millimeters when it comes to translate/compensation objects ;-)

  Is it I move the way you say that maybe it's you have to line up on the grid running to try to turn it off and see if it does not move in increments of 1 mm it does here.

  Is it possible to get the best anti-aliasing for Illustrator CS4? I'm working on style cartoon designs that will be used on the web and Illustrator seems to have a problem really bad folding. Is there a way to change this? I already have "smoothing work" checked in the preferences and the effects of rasterization of the document, but curved lines are still fairly jagged looking. Things will look smooth when they are printed, but given that I will use this on the web they are always looking in staircase. Illustrator of can not regular curves? Is it possible to make lines appear smoother?

  I held off upgrading to El Capitan and currently still use Yosemite on a MBPro. Anyone using El Capitan on MBPro with:

  These are my main apps that I'm worried about compatibility with upgrade. I don't want to upgrade to Adobe and Microsoft versions of subscription based programs - ones I have do the work I just need very well.

  There is no guarantee anyone, that it will work and if you find it does not work for you no one will solve this problem, never.

  in order to maximize the possibility that it will work, I suggest a clean install with nothing that can be present to interfere.

  to do this follow these steps:

  Back up your computer with Time Machine

  do a clean install of the OS 10.11.3

  Since your administrative account to install CS4 and run photoshop

  install JAVA 2015 for Mac

  Howdee new BearPup, yes I'm under W764 Bit version so I can run AfterEffects.
  The error message is as follows - "Adobe Illustrator - no response from plotter. Check if the plotter is in remote mode"- of course, it is always - I was on the site of Mimaki and downloaded... "Vector/raster driver version 2.2 s 0023v 22. exe (484KB))" and tried all possible ways to make it work - it just won't! So on Monday I'll ring Mimaki in NSW Oz 02-4272-3663 and I have a little chat - the next step, I'll probably send the plotter to them for a start and service - what can I do else?

  I take an online tutorial (finally learn how to use Illustrator CS4 that I bought ages ago) and I can't find the Panel to the artboard in the window list (I have attached a screenshot). Can someone help me find it?

  

  Several work plans have been introduced in CS4, but I don't think that the Panel to the artboard came later. I didn't know CS4 over the years, but there is no reference in my teaching material on the 2008 work plans.
