  You need to uncheck the box to align on the pixel grid in the palette/Panel processing.

• Need help with major problems of export in Illustrator CS5!

  I hope someone here can help me,
  I've been using illustrator to create mockups of websites to show to potential clients for a few weeks now.
  I create art and then export > PNG, then use these PNG files in Photoshop to add photos, before their merger all together in a single PDF file.

  My problem is:
  Now all of a sudden, I can't export in PNG.

  An old file have, or create a new one
  I spend, choose my options, then on the little colored loading slider rises,.
  as if it made export, but when I go to the location of the file, there is only a temp file it.
  I let it run for a good 5-10 minutes (this isn't a very graphic-intensive work, so it should not take anywhere NEAR as long)

  But nothing ever happens! And then I come back to illustrator, and it's still the thing of loading,
  and it seems to be frozen, because I can't click on anything, so I have to force quit.

  -> Also, I just realized the same thing happens when I try to use Stylize effects! After that I tried to add an outer glow, the loading icon appears and then nothing happens...

  I know there are probably other ways to do what im trying to do, I tried except for the web options, the screen with the options wont even load, and then it freezes.

  This could be important - I can still save as an illustrator file and export to a JPG file.

  I took my macbook from Apple today, they checked my hardware, apparently its all fine
  but they have wiped the system, so I reinstalled from time machine,
  I deleted my preferences (I think), but im still getting the same problem!

  Apple has decided to hide the library user with OS10.7 folder. You can get to it using the menu.

  Quit Illustrator.

  One method...

  In the Finder, choose go > go to folder and type "~ / library ' (without the quotes) and click OK.

  Your library folder will open.

  Then navigate to ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings

  Move this folder of settings on your desktop.

  Restart Illustrator, and try to export again.

  If it works as expected, you can trash the settings folder on your desktop.

  As you clear preferences, items like Scratch disk settings need to be reconfigured in Illustrator, if you changed the default settings for them.

  Second method...

  Hold down Command-Option-shift when you start Illustrator.

  Preferences will be deleted.

  You will not get any kind of dialogue or the window confirm this, it happens.

  Because of two methods.

  Method you are allowed to file return parameters if your problem is not cured by deleting. It also lets you replace the elements in the new settings file that is created (as work spaces).

  Hello! I just picked up a new work computer (it's a brand new IMac) and it works great except that it won't save my illustrator documents, which is a problem, since all my work is made of illustrator documents. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the program, but when I went to download Illustrator CS5, I get the following error message:

  'Install' is corrupted and cannot be opened. You must eject the disk image.

  'Install' is on the "DesignStandard_CS5_LS1 - 5.dmg" disk image

  Safari has downloaded this disk image today at 09:34 from trials3.adobe.com.

  My company bought Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Standard before I started working here and has always the serial number and the drive, but my new IMac is not a hard drive.

  I am at a loss to know what to do, and I need to get back to work! I talked with Adobe support, and they me redirected here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  I've been using illustrator cs5 on my pc, and without any problems, I was able to print the custom of 19 x 9 size (480 x 220 mm) on my printer HP Officejet size large format 7000.

  I changed my computer with a macbook pro. But now when I want to get documents printed to the printer prints about 3 percent less than the actual size.

  I couldn't understand the problem that some have told me that HP 7000 is not a postscript printer, and that's why I'm having this problem.

  But if I print letter size or A4 size it prints OK. I try to print with sis adjustment to the order page, but still could not managed to print actual size.

  Can someone help me?

  Thanks for the tip, I saved the drawings in PDF with a custom paper size and opens the document in acrobat and I was able to print actual size.

• Problem of groups Adobe Illustrator CS5.

  I work under windows xp using Adobe Illustrator CS5, and the problem is that when I have a some objects in an illustration of the Group and save this picture as a file * .ai, then send it to a customer who uses the MAC, the groups are getting involved. The customer has even sent me a screen captures, and the groups are REALLY involved.

  Some items that I initially gathered are not in the same group any more, some objects of a certain group who somehow became part of another group.

  I build my images on a single layer with multiple sublayers.

  Can the building illustrations with every single group on a separate layer to fix this? Am I missing something? This is the first time I encounter this kind of problem. Help, please.

  I remember never to happen, but it sounds like corruption to me. But I don't know if it is on your end or your customers.

  I use a mac and am will open your file and send you screenshots so that you can compare, if I open it fine then the problem is probably with your customer?

  But they might not like this.

  You can also try to send a pdf or a .ps file they can open the file directly .ps AI without distillation it.

  I'm having a problem with Illustrator CS5 3 lesson using the second file of the year of the woman. The file opens and looks fine, but when I select the snowboarder (or any other part of the image) with the Selection tool I have no option to do a vectorization. You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

  If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

  (1) close Illy and open again.

  (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

  (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

  4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

  I have problems with Illustrator CS5.1, which seems to be crashing when starting upwards. Everything was working fine a few days ago. I did recent updates or made any changes to my mac, it just happen randomly tonight. When you open the app, I get to the screen that reads 'initializing' orange start-up. The spinning clock appears, immediately followed by the spinning beachball. Subsequently the application "unresponsive" and then I have to do a force quit. I restarted my mac several times with no luck! All of the other creative suite applications are working well. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

  My Illustrator CS5.5 has not installed correctly when I arrived three years ago and never needed it til now. Everything has been installed otherwise ok. I uninstalled then reinstalled... again, which seems ok, but when I open it it times out and I have to force quit. I moved the card in the folder away and it opened ok, so I moved plugins one-by-one backwards and it opened ok but no tool. I think I then tried to reinstall and error loading plugins came listing Art Brush tool.aipCalligraphy Brush tool.aipcolor harmony drop shadow and another8 points. I just need to be able to load and use my illustrator. Thank you

  I have a problem with my Illustrator CS5 when I open the program, nothing appears (apart from when I open a new document and then just the paper of the document is displayed)

  no window, no signs, nothing. I tried to click on windows > on and outside Application Framework does nothing...

  I don't know whats wrong with it I can't seem to find anything anywhere on the internet I hope someone can help me?

  Its literally just a blank white page and Ive clicked on everything on the menu tab at the top to try to get the panels to rise, but nothing happens!
