  Please make sure you have a backup of your photo album compilation. Not because of the Windows 8.1 upgrade, but for lack of material, viruses, etc.

  Judging by your post, it seems that Microsoft had technical problems when you tried to activate your copy of Vista by phone. Have you tried phoning the line Activation again?

  The normal procedure is that if the activation fails through the automated system, the call is transferred to a real person. It is the only available option if you get the error 'use existing product key'.

  I can only suggest that you try again the activation by phone and see what happens.

  Not the hostname for the ESXi host.  This information comes from the BIOS of your system if for example on an HP system it would be must Hewlett-Packard HP... as it stands on my HP servers since yours is 'empty' I assume you have a white box.  As far as I know, unless you can change it in the BIOS, you're stuck with that picks up ESXi5.
