• Image capture (10.9.5, Canon printers) makes the black scans

  I have found no Apple documentation on it, but when I use the Image Capture to import from a camera or card in a folder in the Finder, I can import the same items over and over again. There is no control for imports carried out previously.

  When you have your selected image in Illustrator, open the Trace of the Image window.

  If you don't see it you can open it by clicking window > Image Trace.

  Here, you can start playing with the settings of your vectorized image. Activating/Deactivating the threshold will give you more or less definition to your image, which is what you do mainly with the Capture. To get into the nitty gritty, open Advanced settings by clicking the arrow - here, you can start to play with adjustment paths, corners, Ect.

  

  It's best to think form of Capture as a cousin of track of Image: Capture is you allowing to play with all these settings in a swoop on the thumb, while Illustrator Image Trace allows you to sit down and play with the details. You will not get results perfectly mirrored between the two because they operate at different levels and watch your images/pulling on the black and white in different ways.

  The only ability that trace of the Image is not that the Capture is able to switch reading one shape on dark background background clear vs. If you're hoping to do, the best would be to send the images on your computer to your phone via the CC library. You can do this very easily by dragging images into the creative Cloud Files folder on your computer. In case of Capture, select your image from the Creative clouds > files.   Tired of importers jpg directly to photographs, then having to export and re-name-the, I use Image Capture to extract my iPhone.  I save it to my desktop.   I got their name in the Finder.  Then, I open the pictures and import them from my office.  When I finished all imports, I delete the pictures on my desk.  I have been through the jpgs in Photos and see several that I KNOW that I have given a file name, but they have names like IMG_5677.  What a waste of time!   I HATE it that Apple makes it so difficult just give a file name to your photos!  I use filenames for reasons of family history.  I don't want to be enslaved to a convention of software as "Securities.".

  Any suggestions?

  You must make the difference between the file and the data it contains. This Word file is not your novel, it is a container. The data it contains is your novel.
