image factory D shows almost complete - 279 MB 139 GB free space. Windows 7 - do - what I do?

I looked for the D drive disk cleanup, but it shows all the files that would be cleabed up - only trash that was empty.

Hi Annie,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community and we give the opportunity to help you.

Based on the description, you are faced with the question with insufficient disk space. To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following question:

How many partitions are on the computer?

The score of the original Image on the D: drive is used to restore the system to its original configuration, if you have a disaster.

This partition must not be used to store files.

Make sure that the system restore is not enabled on this drive.

a. click Start and select Control Panel open System.

b. in the menu on the left, click System Protection.

(c) in the System Properties window, select the D: drive, and then click the Configure button.

d. in the upper part to restore the settings , select the Cancel system protection.

e. click apply and OK.

f. Quit all running programs, and restart the computer.

Check the space on the D: drive

I hope this helps. Try the above steps and get back to us for assistance. We will be happy to help you.

    Hello:

What you see is completely normal.

Drive D:\ is the recovery partition, and it was only performed large enough at the factory to accommodate the recovery files needed to restore your PC to its State 'out of the box.

Never store other files on that partition.

I'm afraid that someone will end you in completely in the wrong direction on this. The recovery media is probably completely OK.

The HP SLIC has absolutely nothing to do with the windows you are trying to install, but stands in the BIOS of the laptop. Someone hacked the BIOS Acer to tell windows antifeatures of piracy which is HP laptop, presumably so that they could use HP media instead. Reinstalling Windows will not fix the BIOS.

All I can suggest is to download the Acer BIOS update files and try and install one to replace the SLIC entry. There is however 2 caveats to that. 1stly that the damaged area is not always included in the files to update the standard BIOS, so if you can run a BIOS update may not solve the problem. 2ndly some BIOS update programs you cannot install an older than the currently installed BIOS and one that fits in a first time (because it can be complete) would be the version original factory.

It's not all just Microsoft to blame for this issue when it was caused by someone trying to circumvent the measures to combat software piracy that any developer has the right to use. As said from your description that it is only a problem due to fraudulent activity.

Also when you are communicating on this forum you're not dealing with Microsoft, all the people here are voluntary and have no direct involvement with Microsoft to help posters like you.

ESXi 4.1 is almost complete used hard drive... but... in fact, it is not true.

On my server ESXi, I see that I have only 200 M freestyle, when I opened the virtual machines that use this disk, it shows me that 53 G isn't free, 200 m.

Can someone show me dirrection to solve this problem.

    Hello

Regardless of the type of disc you use once in VMware ESX allocates space on the disk it will never resume. It will happen as two snacks of thin disc as thick disk. Only difference is that the thin disk allocation is on request and for thick it is pre configured.

Now, when we see inside the guest, he will see some quantity using comments he will never see beyond that, because of virtualization. But the esx host is aware of what his size allocated to this disc.

Please see KB http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1022242 for more information on the types of disk in VMware.

Copies of the Officejet Pro 8600 are almost completely black.  The party central - perhaps an ich in width - is somewhat readable.  Printed documents are okay. This printer is 2.5 years old and worked fine in what concerns all the until today.  Thank you.

Hello @Tim1943 and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you use in the copy output problems.  I would like to help!

I would recommend starting with a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I suggest you then plug the power to the printer into a different wall outlet.

Another recommendation would be updated the firmware of the printer:

How to clean my disk overloaded space in C drive?  Almost complete.  Says "low disk space".  Thank you in advance.

I'd be interested to see a report of Disk Defragmenter. Open Disk Defragmenter and click analysis. Select view report, and then click Save as and save. Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents folder. Open the file, and place the cursor anywhere in the file, select Edition, select all to select all the text and copy and paste into the body of your message. To do this, before you run Disk Defragmenter because it is more informative.

Follow a few basic maintenance note.

1.5 the tool provided in Windows to remove unwanted temporary files is disk cleanup. To access this tool select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. You must then run Disk Defragmenter.

1.6 using the system restore option is most appropriate when your system is slow and you need to increase the free disk space on your C partition. If you have errors that could be solved by using the system restore to your system settings back to before that the error occurred initially, do not use this option.

1.7. If more than one person uses the computer and they have their own user log you need to run Disk Cleanup in each user profile that you want to delete all the unwanted files.

1.8. a better alternative program to disk cleanup is cCleaner. The freeware version works well for a home user and must be downloaded from Piriform program provider:
    http://www.CCleaner.com/download

1.9. When you open cCleaner you will see four large icons to the left of the window. Here's cleaner them, registry, tools, and Options. For routine maintenance, you normally acceding Cleaner (this is not the mentioned registry cleaner later). When using for the first time only, you can accept the default settings.

1.10. some observations on the parameters. On my computer, I do not have the boxes before the passwords saved selected. In a less secure environment, you could check this option and set cCleaner to run automatically when the computer starts. You also cannot check the boxes in front of shortcuts from the Start Menu, desktop shortcuts and historical form. You must check the boxes according to your needs. Bad first time options causes irritating no disasters.

1.11. the second icon that you see when you open cCleaner's registry. A reserve many experienced users have about cCleaner, it's that it comes with a registry cleaner. This tool should not be used. By using a registry cleaner, but it is the case, provides significant benefits and there is always the risk of creating insoluble system errors, which cannot be resolved by reinstalling the operating system and all that that implies. You will avoid any possible problem of not not by clicking on the Save icon.

1.12 the third icon that you see when you open cCleaner is tools. If you click this icon, it gives you access a routine plus service options. The first two tools are uninstalled and commissioning. I do not use these tools, preferring to use other software options. The third tool is the restoration of the system, which is covered in the next paragraph. The fourth tool is Wiper Drive and you will find reviews about this tool later

1.13 removing the system restore points can be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments. This makes it easier to hold the restore points for long periods without keeping large unwanted files, whose inflexible approach to disk cleanup fails to offer.

1.14. you can't remove the last restore point using the cleaning disc or cCleaner. If the last restore point contains malicious software, you can turn off and then turn on system restore. This has the disadvantage that restore all points are removed when you want to keep more restore points that are not infected. How to get round this problem is to create a new restore point when you are satisfied with your computer is free of malware and then remove the infected restore point.

1.15. in normal circumstances, you probably rarely need to use Driver wiper. However, there are situations like if you gave the computer to someone else, then the tool may be useful. Please note that the wiper Drive, opening, generates a warning message, which should not be dismissed lightly. Using wiper Drive for the wrong reason could have serious consequences.

1.16 the fourth icon is labeled Options. Many configuration options are available here. You can configure cCleaner to run when start you but remember that this will slow down the boot. Another setting allows you to include or exclude cookies. Yet another allows files named to exclude.

  • Change color of Partition Image factory after that Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit upgrade

I bought the package of Microsoft Family Pack Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit upgrade. I upgraded my HP Pavilion m9525f without problem. However, when I upgraded HP Pavilion Media Center m8547c PC my work wife I noticed that the partition image factory had changed from blue to red. His computer is now slower that it was running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit years she gets blockages requiring restarts.

I have installed all the software HP upgrade to his computer and deleted all unnecessary programs, run the cleaning program in Accessories, defragmented the drive and ran sfc/scannow, who finds no problems with its operating system files.

There is a serious problem, indicated by the change of color of partition to factory?

Hello Archquark, you can delete the partition D: HP Recovery restore and recover this disk capacity.

If you have the game to restore HP Recovery disk, which you should have done when you've got the system, you can still use them to restore the system back as it was when shipped from HP.

I, personally, to remove these partitions recovery, because as you said, that they are usually outdated very soon after you get the system, but I wouldn't recommend others that under normal circumstances.

I don't know why a temp. file was created in your D: Recovery partition.

Windows 7 installation can be linked to the Vista install, and you will need to have Vista installed in order to perform the upgrade to Windows 7 If you have in the future.

There are a few different methods that Microsoft and HP use to upgrade to Windows 7.

I got a system until Windows 7 came out, but with a free Windows 7 upgrade when it was released. I got the Windows 7 upgrade disc and he ran like an upgrade. Later, I had to change the hard drive without an operating system installed and was able to perform a new installation with the provided HP Windows 7 upgrade disk.

Appears to be a tossup. If you decide to delete the D: Recovery partition, you probably that in the Windows 7 Control Panel Setup, administrative tools, computer management, storage, management records.

When you get there, just select the D: Recovery partition and select this option to delete the volume.

Then select the C: partition and choose the volume and it should expand the C: partition to include the ability to partition D: previous.

  • Drive C (Vista) - almost complete

I have a 80 GB hard drive, which is partitioned into C (41,79 gb) & D (27.86 gb) drives, theres also a main drive (4.88 GB) and some not allocated space (I have no idea why)

Player C has the stuff Vista, program files, the data of the user - and is almost full. I ran disc clean & defrag - whenever I do, I with 5to6 GB of free space and windows updates use then upwards again - if the player is found in the red zone. For example, I ran last week of cleaning/defrag had 6 GB of space after, now 3 GB

D drive has 24 GB of free space - then tried to use the management software to reduce the score. However at best it will shrink only by about 2 GB but actually won't do because access is denied.

If I delete the D drive, I can allocate more space on the C drive & then recreate another smaller drive D and as I am not allowed to shrink drive D will be allowed to delete.

You try to make the wrong way.

You can't take a piece off D: and nail it on C:

Back up the data on D: > D: delete > c: then spread the now unallocated space where D: is.
