IMessage Question...

I'm not very familiar with Apple devices and I was wondering that could possibly say when you are able to send someone a message through Imessage using their email address, but not their phone number any longer? I was the e-mail of the person quite a long time and now all of a sudden today when I went to type in their phone number it tells me it's is no longer registered in Imessage.

If you have an Apple ID when you set up your iPod touch, the Apple can be used with iMessage ID. In case you don't know, an identifier Apple is your email address and password. I think you are trying to send a message to Apple that person ID am I right?

    Hello world

So I have a Plus 6 iPhone and iPad Pro.

I want to keep my WE imessages - on both devices, but under the same Apple ID, it even works this way?

My question is, I'm not all alone messages that I receive on my iphone sent to my iPad while I'm SMS on my iPhone right next to her, because my iPad is connected to the wifi of my work, so I prefer just the text out of my phone for this reason. Or should I cut constantly 'iMessage - imessages can be sent between iphone, ipad and ipod touch' constantly that turns off my imessages completely (on the ipad) so I have to sign permanently. Is there a way to get around this? I tried to play with the settings of iMessage and couldn't really find much. My phone is configured to receive messages through my icloud email and my phone number and my ipad is set to receive the imessages via email to icloud only. Maybe I should switch to a new email for the iPad? Don't know what to do! lol I hope that I can continue to use the same Apple ID icloud email address.

So, basically, I want to keep my imessages with the same Apple ID on BOTH devices, but when I text my fiance, I want his messages to go directly to my iphone (phone number), but since we're both on iPhones through iMessage, which is what I prefer. But the problem is that it's also get sent to the iPad when it's connected to my work Wifi... maybe I need to change my e-mail address of imessage for the iPad to do not receive them unless I want to? Sorry, it's probably super confusing omg.

I hope I did well enough common sense, otherwise I'll try to explain better!

    Thanks for your useful replies

What I do bothers me not do is delete the contact in iMessages then if I need to talk to them I just add and all messages have disappeared.

  • questions about iOS 10 SMS and iMessage notification

    Hi all

Having some problems with the SMS and iMessage notification since the upgrade to iOS 10. The problem is that sometimes there is no noise or vibration or anything like that when I get a message. I will just have to pick up the phone and there is a banner on the lock screen. And until someone asks, it isn't that I was away from the phone, or I didn't hear it go off... there was just no notification. It's as if the phone was in DND (which it was not).

The other thing is, I NEVER receive a notification when I am sent an iMessage from a sender that is the only email address (like an iPad wifi only). In this situation, my phone never plays a sound never vibrates... you open the lock screen, but there's a new banner of message sitting there... as I said before - just as the phone is in DND... which is not.

This problem happens on mine and my wife's phone. For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Here is an update. I think I can find a solution to the problem. I used to have my "send and receive" in the messages app implemented with my phone number and checked e-mail address. I have deselected the e-mail address and have now received a notifcation for every message I've received so far. The sample size is a bit small at the moment but before this change, it is 50-50 at best.

  • question of spam iMessage

I created an email unique iCloud for my new iPhone SE. I've never used this email address anywhere except iTunes and the App Store installation. I use Apple Mail on my iPhone to retrieve the email for the account and never get any email to this account because I don't use it actively with the exception of the registration of Apple.

I put it in place in iMessage and my phone number. I have never sent or received an iMessage using only my phone number ID.

How is it possible to get Ray Ban sunglasses spam to my iMessages in these circumstances?  I have long been reluctant to get into the Apple ecosystem, but was convinced to do so by a friend. I had a Samsung before that and never once had SMS spam. Now I'm with Apple almost 3 weeks and I'm iMessage spam that appears to come through my Apple ID associated email.

I am a very private person and feel somehow I had my privacy violated and worries me also pay Apple which I've also put in place related to my new Apple ID.

I see a lot of complaints on the internet about spam iMessage. Given that I've been things carefully implemented and have used this email with Apple and it of their iCloud, can someone explain to me what's happened and if I had my information compromised?

    Thank you

Messages of spam of all kinds are sent to hundreds of thousands of all the days of phones. Spammers don't care even if it is a valid number. Messages eventually went to a hundred random numbers at a time. Your number just happened to be one of these random numbers. Just delete the message and never interact with these spam messages.

  • Question of symbol IMessage

    What does this symbol mean

I don't have an iPhone, but it seems a bit like the "international symbol" for "contact".

It probably means that the call came from where he went to one of your contacts?

    OR

An options to ADD to your Contacts

    Why not enter and see?

    Hello

There is an app Messages having an iMessages account.

In fact, it may have a Hello 'Account' AIM, Jabber and Yahoo, not to mention the many you can have.

One of them could be the cause rather than the iMessages one.

    These: -.

    NSInvalidArgumentException

See if the data of one kind or another in the past between the app and other places he works with.

In some cases, the 'reason' may include a reference to something being 'null '.

In these cases, this may mean that the Contacts App has no listed correct My map, in some cases, this means that Mac user account name and my card Contacts do not seem to match.

Can you be specific about which .plists you deleted.

Some with ichat in the name refers to the functions most basic application which have been there since the app was called iChat.

For example, it might be the sort of friend order if you have AIM, Yahoo or Jabber accounts.

This Yahoo have released a new version of their Messenger which seems incompatible with what they had before.

It seems to stop the Messages application entering this account.

I don't think that is the question here because I don't have this problem myself.

Can you remember if you changed anything in the Messages recently?

  • All my messages on my iPhone were mysteriously deleted after I restarted - is it possible to sync my old backup iPhone with my iMessages on my Mac?

    Hello!

This past weekend, I noticed that my Messages app acted strangely on my iPhone 6. Accordingly, I turned and turn it on again and noticed that all of my posts have disappeared. I then did a hard reset and turned on - still no messages.

I have my settings to keep my messages forever, what really saddened me to see all of my messages disappeared. In any case, I'm about to restore my backup iPhone on a new phone (6 s). Luckily, I backed up my phone the week last before my messages disappearing.

I understand that when I restore a backup, everything that happened on my phone since will not appear. However, I have also the Messages on my MacBook Air app, when kept all my messages before and after the mysterious disappearance on my phone. Once I have perform this restore, I was wondering if it is possible to synchronize in any post-restore on my laptop to my phone messages.

    Thank you!

    Hi masizh,

Congratulations on your new iPhone 6 s! I understand that you want to synchronize the restoration of post messages on your Mac Messages app to your iPhone 6 s. If these are the iMessages, your new device needs to load the entire conversation once you send or receive an iMessage from the recipient. SMS messages may not work in the same way, however, you can contact your operator for support with text messages.

To continue to have your Mac with your iPhone SMS sync, don't forget to implement continuity with your new device.

If you have an iPhone, the SMS that you send and receive on your iPhone may appear on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch as well. You can then continue the conversation from any device is closer to you.

Set up SMS and MMS messaging

Use this feature with any Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that satisfies the requirements of continuity system. Make sure that your devices are configured as follows:

    • Each device is connected to iCloud with the same Apple ID.
    • On iPhone, go to settings > Messages > Send and receive. Make sure the Apple ID at the top of the screen is the same Apple ID you use for iMessage on other devices. Add a check to your address, phone number, so that you can be reached by both iMessage. Do the same on your iPad or iPod touch.
    • On iPhone, go to settings > Messages > transfer, text messages, then choose which devices to send and receive text messages from the iPhone. A verification code and then on each device. Enter this code on your iPhone.
    • On Mac, open Messages, and then choose message > Preferences. Click accounts, and then select your account from iMessage. Make sure the Apple ID shown here is the same Apple ID you use on other devices. Add a control to your phone number and email address.

Use the SMS and MMS messaging

To use this feature, simply start conversations as usual in the Messages application on any of your devices. Alternatively, you can start a conversation by clicking a phone number in Safari, Contacts, calendar, or other applications detecting phone numbers. All your incoming and outgoing messages on all your devices.

Please use the Apple Support communities to post your question. Enjoy your new iPhone!

  • iMessage/Facetime activation on iOS 10 bug

    Hello

The bug appeared after the first intentional reboot after iOS 10 updated, my iPhone 5 has been disconnected for a few hours. When it started I started to receive petitions of iM/FT on reboot or a random time after even if iM/FT completely!

I did not move my SIM card. If I refuse to activate iM I can't see my phone number in the Contacts section.

The same bug persists on the iPhone of my 5s wife while his phone has never been disconnected except 10.0.2 update.

    Hi Valsh,

Here is how to fix iMessage / FaceTime activation do not question.

Before you begin, you'll need sort these things:

    • Make sure that in the phone application, you got your registered number. On top of "Contacts", you should see your registered number (My Number :). If not, you will need to go to settings → → my phone number and enter your number.
    • Make sure that the Date and time (in general) are correct. Set to "Set automatically" to ensure that the time zone is correct and the iPhone is at the right time.
    • Also make sure you have a working network. Problems of Wi - fi can cause iMessage activation problems therefore have active cell.
For some users, the message for activation goes out as an international SMS. Make sure that your carrier allows these and you have a sufficient amount to send them.

    1. contact your operator

First of all, make sure that your carrier supports iMessage or not. Contact the support team of carrier and check any condition limiting on your iMessage, blocks or text filters.

    2. airplane mode

As strange as it sounds, maybe you should try this method if nothing else works. We found the airplane mode activation mode in one of the discussions. It sounds simple, and if it is correct, it would be nice, right?

    Here's how it works:

Step #1. Get off at scroll → settings touch Messages and turn offiMessage (also turn off FaceTime)

Step #2. Turn on airplane mode. WiFi will be disabled automatically.

    Step #3: Turn ON Wifi.

Step #4. Return to Messages and ignition iMessage.

Step #5. You will be prompted for your Apple ID if you have not yet added it. (otherwise, you get no notification)

Step #6. Now, go back to the settings and disable airplane mode.

Step #7. For the most part, you will see a notification that says "your carrier may charge for SMS" - press OK

Step #8. If this is not the case, go to Messages, disable iMessage and then turn on again.

Step #9. In a few moments, iMessage should be enabled.

Step #10. You will see a greyed number and e-mail ID. A little later, the number should be checked, and that's all.

    3 Apple ID disconnect, connect

Sometimes, you just need to logout of your identifier Apple and then sign in again.

Step #1. Under Settings → Message, scroll up to where it says 'Send and receive'and tap on it.

Step #2. Type on the Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.

Step #3. Now turn off iMessage.

Step #4. Wait for a while (toggle Wifi) and then turn on the iMessage.

Step #5. Enter the details of your Apple ID now and try to reactivate iMessage

    4. set or restore

If things do not work, you must first reset the settings of your location, then the iPhone. Reset is just a force so restart your data stays secure. After the reset, you will just connect with your Apple and implementing iMessage like new.

If this fails, you may need to restore the iPhone as new or from a backup.

    Hope this helps,

    See you soon.

  • iMessage can receive but not send

Just today, iMessage ceased to be able to send my model of MacBook Air mid-2013.  I tried to disconnect and return with my Apple ID, have tried the reactivation of the computer from the phone settings and we tried switching where the iMessages originate.  It worked very well for my iPhone, so I know this isn't my account itself that has problems. Can I do to solve this problem?

    Hello

I'm sure if you deselected the iPhone number on the Mac version you would find that you don't see any iMessages.

(i.e. you are only to see synchronization copies of what is becoming the phone.)

    Another Apple ID works?

Your Apple ID works in another Mac on your Mac user account?

The dial-up connection includes the use of the serial number of the Mac to provide a specific connection of device

If you go to the top of the Menu of the icon Apple left and about this Mac only shows the serial number?

If it is not there then you will need to take the Mac and Apple Store and put back it.

If another ID works then the application works correctly.

If your code does not work in another Apple ID then it's like most stuck to the Apple iMessages Server (device specific).

If this is the case you must phone Apple Support (Apple Care)

You have a problem with Apple which are free to set - ID stakeholders a level are driven Script and will try to ignore it.

Ask to speak to someone more important.

Even in this case some level 2s did not hear the question.

Politely, ask them to check the server iMessages and see if your use of the your Mac ID is blocked.

    Ask them to reset it.

It will probably mean the engineers involved and statements to be between 24 hours and 5 days being used to solve this (according to other people who have posted on this).

  • iOS 10 - iMessage pictures not save on film

Hello world! Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I have an iPhone running iOS 10.0.1 6s and none of the pictures I take with the camera inside iMessage register on film.

This is normal behavior for the iMessage camera?

I take with the camera full of photos application record very well. I tried to restart, and tips on the web on sharing the pictures of the miniature inside camera without success.

    Thank you once again.

    Hi, k8jb76!

Thank you for reaching out by Apple Support communities. From your post I see that you have questions about how the camera in the works of app Messages feature, and how you can save the photos take you there. I like to send photos to my friends and my family, and have a copy for me is great. I'd be happy to help you!

When you use the camera function in the Messages, the pictures you take are not automatically saved to your Photos app. You do not have the ability to save, though - just tap on the photo after you send it, then press the share in the lower-left corner of the screen. In the share menu, click on Save Image. It will download the image in your film or pictures (if use you iCloud photo library).

  • iMessage and facetime activation requires after each reboot.

    Hello

I updated my iphone 6 + with ios10 update and since after that whenever I restart my device I need to reactivate my cell phone for iMessage and facetime and make me pay for activation causing SMS carrier charges.

To confirm that I'm not changing any how sim or anything like that just a simple reboot and I need to recheck my number every time with activation of SMS.

    Hey pulkitgupta23,

I understand that you have a problem with your iPhone and iOS 10 where you have to reactivate your phone number for iMessage and FaceTime, every time that you restart your iPhone. We want to help you to get to the bottom of this and resolve this problem, so let's start with a few basic steps. I have some suggestions for you in the following article that could help us solve it correctly:

If you get an error when you try to activate FaceTime - Apple Support or iMessage

    Check your camera settings

    1. Make sure that you are connected to a Wi - Fi or cellular data. If you use an iPhone, you will need the SMS messaging to activate your phone number with iMessage and FaceTime. Depending on your operator, you might be charged for the SMS.
    2. Go to settings > general > Date & time and make sure that you have configured your time zone correctly.

Stop and restart iMessage and FaceTime

    1. Go to settings > Messages and turn off of iMessage.
    2. Go to settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
    3. Restart your device.
    4. Turn on iMessage and FaceTime.

Try following these procedures, such as written and let us know the results. If the problem is still not resolved, try to provide as much detail as possible in your message tracking, including information on the first time, you have noticed the issue and source of your internet connection when the question is displayed. I want to cancel my iMessage, but it is not available in Cambodia, so how can I do

    Hello, bong sam!

Thank you for joining the communities Support from Apple! Looks like you need to remove your iMessages. That's a big question! The good news is that there is an article that gives you the steps to complete that. Learn how to unregister the iMessage on your iPhone or online. The article will give you the steps to cancel the registration through your iPhone or online.

    Write off iMessage online

If you do not have access to your iPhone, you can unregister the iMessage online. After radiation complete you, your phone number is deleted from iMessage services. You should be able to receive text messages immediately, but it may take a few hours for some Apple devices recognize you do not iMessage when they send you a message.

If someone sends you an iMessage for your Apple ID, you will get it on your other Apple devices. If someone sends you a text to your phone number, you will get the message only on your phone.
