iMessage search

I am still investigating in iMessage.  When a thread has said that there is more than one match, how can I make for the next game?

Hello

Edit menu > Search > next he performs a good cycle that all of them and back to first during the passage of the last.

I think the highlight of the iMessages is not as distinct as it could be.

  • Previous messages does not - iMessage

I noticed today that for a single contact, if I try to go back in the history of my conversation in iMessage, it will not load the previous messages.  However, and this is where it gets strange... random, it seems that if this person sends me a text, if I'm fast enough and sliding down to the previous loading messages, load them but it stop again.  That said, I don't get the rotation icon showing that it will load more messages.

    I found some interesting things:

    • Time of the message sent from the last post on the page continues to change!
    • My iPad use iMessage also - and even contact is affected on my iPad - just a touch...
    • Can I use spotlight search and retrieve message history/conversation with this contact, but only to the point where I was able to do load the previous messages (example so: I could see a message in the search for more 3 years!)  but I couldn't see it, I could only view the research conversation if I had previously loaded - if really there from a month - it's that I had loaded messages at the time where he randomly gave me of)

    Things I've tried:

    • Hard reset
    • Power off and power on
    • Turn off iMessage and restarts
    • Checked to make sure that I have enough space - I have 63GB available on my iPhone

I think this is a bug in the iOS 10 but I am hopeful that someone here might know of the issue and how to solve.  Maybe an indexing problem?  I do not know.  Any help would be highly appreciated.

    The devices that I use:

    • iPhone 6 s, iPad 2 Air - both with 10 installed iOS

Oh, and my is set to keep messages forever, just in case you're wondering.

  • iMessage: "an error has occurred during authentication.

iMessage on my Mac began acting yesterday and is not synchronized with my phone and then stopped working completely.  I disconnected and tried to reconnect, but got this error message:

    Can not connect to iMessage.

An error occurred during activation. Try again.

I disconnected iCloud on my Mac, reconnected and tried to open a session in iMessage, but got the same error.  I tried my wife apple ID and password and got the same error message.

    Does anyone have an ideas?

This could be a difficult problem to solve, as there are several possible causes for this. Please test after taking each of the steps that you have not already tried it. Back up all data before making any changes.

Before proceeding, test on another network, if possible. This could be a Wi - Fi access point public, if your computer is portable, or a cellular network, if you have a mobile device that can share its Internet connection. If you find that iMessage works on the other network, the problem is in your network or your ISP, not in your computer.

    Step 1

Check the status of the service. If the service is stopped, wait until he comes back upward. There may be a power outage, localized, even if the indicator is green.

    Step 2

    In the menu bar, select

     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Date & time zone ▹

The nearest town from there where you are should be selected on the map.

    Step 3

Disconnect you iMessage and FaceTime on all your Apple devices. Sign out and then sign back in. Try to connect again.

    Step 4

Restart your router and your device at wide band, if they are separated. You may skip this step if you don't control these devices.

    Step 5

Follow these instructions to view the serial number of the machine. If the number is missing or invalid according to the web form, take the machine to an Apple Store or another service center authorized to correct the problem.

    Step 6

The measures suggested in this support article. If you do not understand some of the steps or leads them not, ask for advice. Note in particular that the email address associated to your identifier Apple should be checked. If the address is in the field obsolete mac.com, you will have to change.

    Step 7

    In the menu bar, select

     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network

If the preferences window is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Click the Advanced button, and then select the Proxies tab. If the SOCKS Proxy box is checked, uncheck it. You don't need to change other parameters in the window. Click OK, and then apply. Test.

The result may be that you can not connect to Internet at all. Cancel the change, if any, or if iMessage still does not work. Remember that you must apply changes made in the preferences window to take effect.

    Step 8

    Select in the menu bar

     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Flash Player ▹ storage

    and click on

Block all sites to store information on this computer

    Close the preferences window.

    Step 9

Make sure that you know the ID and the password you use with iMessage. Launch the Keychain Access application in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Use the search box in the toolbar of the Keychain Access window to find and remove all items containing "iMessage" or "com.apple.idms" in the name. Sign out and then sign back in.

    Step 10

Select connections comments * and log in as a guest. Do not use the Safari connection only 'user comments' created by 'find my Mac '.

While signed in as a guest, you won't have access to your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Don't worry about that; It's normal. If you need any password or other personal information in order to complete the test, save, print, or write them before you start.

Test while signed in as a guest. After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

    * Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create an account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

If iMessage worked in the guest account, stop here and post your results.

    Step 11

Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion drive or a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including his outputand Wi - Fi on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. After testing, restart as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and test again.

If iMessage worked in safe mode, but still does not work when you restart in 'normal' mode, stop here and post your results.

    Step 12

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select this option:

    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.apsd.plist

Right-click or Ctrl-click on the highlighted line and select

Services ▹ reveal in Finder (or just to reveal)

of the contextual menu.*, a file must open with a selected item. Move selected item to the trash. You may be prompted for administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the trash.

    * If you do not see the item context menu copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

    Step 13

    Reset the NVRAM.

    Step 14

Reset the controller (SMC) system management.

    Step 15

    Reinstalling OS X.

    Step 16

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, make an appointment 'Genius' on an Apple Retail Store or contact Apple's Support. When you configure a support call, select "Apple ID" as the product that you need help, not model material. In this way, if you're not under AppleCare, you can talk your way out of being charged for the call.

  • iPhone 6 on EE - iMessage will not send pictures

My iphone 6 ceased to send pictures through iMessage.

It sends the text through iMessage iMessage works. I tried on wifi and EE 4 g, makes no difference. Receives photos and text via fine imessage. IMessage picture just coming out that is affected.

    Tried:

    Reset the phone

    Turn imessage

    Turn FaceTime

    Toggle flight mode

Signature to iCloud and folder in

etc (as well as making several of the foregoing in unison)

Wierdly the only time wherever it works is if I send to myself.

When you send someone else, it takes a while, and then the blue bar goes and he says comes under. Then a few minutes after that he changed to fail. Tried to send to several other people and these people can all receive iMessage pictures from third parties is only me that is affected.

I repeat... iMessage works as it sends the text via is not the settings in this sense. It is also not the image size I tried those who have worked in the past.

Any ideas? I tried everything I saw in google searches.

    Thank you

iMessage uses data, that this is just a message including a photo. You mention he happens on a wi - fi provided cell also, is that correct? When you talk to reset the phone, are you referring to reset in now the home and sleep/wake set buttons until you see the Apple logo and then release for the iPhone to reboot?

IMessage requires an active internet connection on both sides of the conversation, the sender and recipient. Have you checked with the people you send it? Have you been able to receive a picture of someone with iMessage, wi - fi or cellular? You say that you can send an iMessage with just the text, have you tried to send a picture to someone immediately after their sending just an iMessage with text? iMessage shows that it is active, correct?

The following troubleshooting steps include resetting the network settings, backup restore, factory restore, testing after each step.

PS Ce which means 'abo in the Union?  Nevermind, I see you have edited that.

  • Receiving a few iMessages on rMBP only.

Yes, I know, there has been problems with this in the past. I searched the forums extensively.

Initially there were only one or two people only appeared on my rMBP Messages, and I swept.

Now, it degrades, and I have about 6 people who I can only text me through Messages on my cell phone. It happens to iPhones and other similar. These messages on my phone at all. It's bad because I often miss business texts since they were sent to my laptop and not phone.

I tried logging in and out of Messages, as well on the phone, then the phone with no luck. Then I got fed up with it and reinstalled OS X 10.11.5 and iOS 9.3.2. Still not good.

I have both iOS and OS X messages set to send and receive on my phone number and the Apple ID and to start new conversations of my phone number. Text message forwarding is enabled on my iPhone

As long as you are connected to the exact same Apple ID on your Mac and your iPhone, there is nothing that should only go to your Mac that was sent to your phone number. This is the right way to him. Things to check would be that you check "you can be reached for the messages to" article of iMessage in both devices. On Mac, Messages > Preferences > accounts. On iPhone, settings > Messages > Send and receive. Make sure that all addresses are checked on both devices. If someone has sent their message to an address that is not configured to receive on your iPhone, it will go only to your Mac if that is configured to receive via this address list.

I also guess that you still have ownership of your phone number for making phone calls and SMS Messages with your carrier, Yes? As long as you do, and what I mentioned above is in place, I'd get Apple of Contact for support and service - Apple in charge. Support is currently free, and if it came to this day, they probably need to collect some capture data and climb the logs to an engineer for review as to the cause of this problem.

  • Why do I always ichat instead of iMessage

Help a friend set up a new MacBook Air with El Capitan, used Migration Assistant to transfer files from his old Mac running Leopard. Everything seemed to go OK except that now she has iChat on the new computer instead of iMessage. When I click on iChat, it said iMessage in the menu bar, but a pop up window saying iChat is not taken in charge and to download iMessage. I can't find anywhere to download iMessage. I tried Googling without success and have searched in the Apple Forums. Help, please.

Just to claify, known as Messages, not iMessages. One of the risks associated with the Migration Wizard migration is it copies on older applications. If you see iChat in "Applications" drag it to the trash and empty it. If the message is not in 'Applications', you will need to reinstall El Capitan. It cannot be downloaded separately as far as I know.

  • Cannot send pictures using iMessage

I used iMessage to send pictures for years, I could just drag and drop photos into the body of the message and send. Now all I get are error messages that the message could not be sent. I can send pictures by using one of my other iDevices without a hitch, the problem occurs only on my iMac.
