Import Apple app photos in lightroom

I use lightroom CC 2015.3 computer Macbook Pro El Capitan.

In the previous update of lightroom, adobe added support for the library of Photos of Apple.  After a lot of complaints from the community on the new design of page import, adobe has returned to the old conception of import page. In doing so, it seems that adobe has also decreased support for the import of Photos Apple library.  Is this true?

I just checked and discovered that Lightroom (2015 cc.3) remembers the link to my library of Photos apple when I imported using 2015 cc.2.  So I tried to use this link and Voila! It imports directly from the photo library.  However, if I try to access the photo library using the standard import dialog box, it does not.  It seems that adobe still has work to do.

  • Import the iCloud photos in Lightroom

I have an iMac with Yosemite, my photo library is currently in Photos (ICloud). I don't want to move the library to Lightroom at the moment, but do not want to use to change individual pictures, but I don't see how to import a photo in Lightroom when the photo is not on my hard drive. I'm not techno of mind so please use simple language! Thank you

    Hi Carolina,.

Lightroom is not designed to be a tool of "a single image at a time", it is designed to manage all your images, and he really excels at working together with many images. That said, you are free to import as little as a single image at a time in Lightroom, given two main conditions:

    1. you must have the original image to import into Lightroom.

    2. you must have a dedicated, don't change location to keep this image when you use Lightroom. If you move the image outside of Lightroom, the program will not know where you moved it.

Lightroom is a complete work environment, it is not only an image editor. It ' their organizing photo and an organizer of workflow. The right way to approach Lightroom to get the expected benefit is to use it to manage all your images. I encourage you to look at some of the available Introduction videos to get a feel for the Lightroom workflow. It is not difficult, but it is different from the classic image editing programs.

I hope this is a help,

    Mike

  • Importing and organizing photo files lightroom 5 for the first time. Clean photo hard drive files

I have a trial version of lightroom 5 and would like one once and forall to restore order to my two drives hard and lightroom 5 collection. Some photos in lightroom 5 seem to have lost their way. Some are in folders of Windows 7 and others are 9 elements. I made backup copies of some records and would like to have a more systematic approach to save them in the future. I have a NAS (network access storage) device and an additional hard drive, I thought that it would be better to use my cell phone as main for my photo files working memory such that it would be faster to work with the NAS or external and then again everything down to the NAS and external. I consider that the main challenge group all files and as much as possible to preserve the sides I gave photos; I would like to eliminate duplicats. on both the hard drive and in lightroom. I watched one of the vidios of initial training on the 'library' of the adobe help section and the presenter talked about two ways to import photos. the first and I think that I will use in the future is to open lightroom and import from the SD directly rather than having the Windows 7 import, and then ask to lightroom to find them. If anyone Kow of an exhaustive enumeration of the instructions on how to clean up my hard drives that would be extremely useful? Peter

I doubt that it is a list of instructions to wipe a hard drive, because each starting situation is different and your 'own' is probably very different than my "clean".

But let's clear up a few things first. From your writings, it seems that you think that you have stored pictures in post-secondary education and photos stored in LR. This is not correct. None of these programs to store your photos. All your pictures are on your hard drive, in folders, somewhere.

Regarding the missing photos in Lightroom, when you move or rename your photos and folders outside of the Lightroom, Lightroom doesn't know where they are and bring back them as being absent. To fix it, see: http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm related to that, you don't want to 'clean up' things in Windows and also "clean things" upward in Lightroom. Instead, once you import photos into Lightroom, you must do all the managing photos in Lightroom, not Windows, otherwise you'll just create several missing files.

Regarding duplicates, Lightroom has some tools to detect duplicates. He will try to prevent duplicates during the import, and if you are unable to import duplicates, you can use the "auto stack by Capture time" to try to find additional duplicates. But if those who do not work, then're it pretty much on your own.

With regard to put photos on your laptop to work on them rather than on your external hard drive, I think you will find that this gives a fraction of a second speed improvement that you may even not notice, which will be offset by the time you spend moving somewhere else photos when finished. So just put the photos in their final destination on your external HD or a NAS file and don't bother moving them to the internal HD.

Which leads to another point. Once you have done this 'cleaning', your workflow should be to put the photos in a place and then do not transfer! (Exception: not enough space on the disk or moving to another drive/computer) Make your life easier as possible.

One last point: seriously consider using keywords and other metadata for the Organization, rather than move photos/files from here to there, to reach the organization. These tools in Lightroom will give you the possibility of organizing in a much more powerful and flexible organization and what you can do by moving the photos/files from here to there. (Note: If you want all the photos in a sort of centralized location because it meets your storage needs, can do that because it meets your storage needs.) In this collection of photos in a centralized location, using keywords and other metadata to achieve organization and research)

  • Hesitant to import my old photos into Lightroom as they have all been published on my Sony play memories... wouldn't be better to just start with the new pictures that I take every day?  (not published)

You could start with new photos which gives you a good idea for the application and use of cursors to develop. The change of Lightroom is completely non-destructive. All changes are stored in a database (catalog) so your original is never touched. Perhaps you could bring more old photos already on your computer, a file at a time, when you're ready. Use Import > Add.

To import new photos from a camera or card use Import > copy

  • Difficulty in importing the sample photos in Lightroom 5.5

    Hello

I'm on my free trial version and started the video tutorials.

I unzipped the sample of files in a folder on the desktop named "start lightroom take pictures" and have tried to add them to a catalog. When I press "Import" appears in a different box to the tutorial - I put it as ' drive local c:\ - Add - to My catalogue "-under a box asking you"preset metadata"(set to zero) and below (empty) application"key words ". I clicked on 'desktop' as location and typed in the file asking to 'Add' to 'my catalog' but nothing happens.

Have tried different ways without result, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    Bob

    Hi Jim,.

Thanks for your reply - it was a dialog box requesting the path to write to find import, rather than selecting them in 'the tree' on the left hand side.

I got tired of nowhere so I deleted Lightroom and tried a few alternative software options, made Lightroom was the best, re-installed and presto! Totally different and works very well. Must have been a problem with the original download.

Bought my copy today and very happy with it.

    Thanks again,

  • Importing photos into Lightroom CC

I always had problems trying to import my photos into Lightroom. I have read many articles on it and watched many tutorials, and none of them does not seem to work for me. I'm working on a Mac OS (El Capitan) and I use the Photos App on my computer. I take photos for a living, and I want some "records" of the Photos App to import into Lightroom so I can change, so I want to save them back in the 'File' or 'Album' from the Photos App. I'm frustrated that there is no means to achieve and that Lightroom is so different from Photoshop and other items.

If someone could help with this, I'd appreciate it greatly - thank you!

    Hi shelbys.

Well, you cannot migrate your images directly from App Photos in Lightroom as opening.

You export your App Photos images and save it somewhere on the machine, then Lightroom would be able to see your images and can add/import your images into the software so that you can edit them later.

  • I automatically imported my Photoshop Elements photos in Lightroom, but the captions are missing. How to recover?

I've been using Photoshop Elements on my PC and to access the photos on the web with Revel. With the imminent disappearance of Revel, I moved to the photograph of the cloud creative plan. In the process, I just imported my items photos in Lightroom. Unfortunately, the photos do not show their legends in Lightroom. How to recover?

    Hello

Yes, you can see the caption under the pictures in mode in the library grid.

Go to the view menu > options > check "Show grid Extras" > make sure legend is selected under low label under Compact cell Extras.

You can double-click any image in the library module to view it in full screen and double click again to return to the display of the grid.

  • See the iPad as video pro photos in Lightroom

    Hello

I start with Lightroom and imported my photos of the iPhone and the iPad.

The iPad is an iPad PRO and most of the photos is 2 or tree photos at the same time. LR and as video visible and I cannot change those.

    Is there a solution?

    Kind regards

How you import? Using Lightroom Mobile? Or through Lightroom Desktop and import of orders?

My guess is that these pictures are created in the form of a JPEG file over a video, and Lightroom Desktop it would treat as it manages the pairs RAW + JPEG - ignore the default JPEG. So try to change preferences / general / treat JPEG files of the files next to raw as separate photos and then try to import. That may be enough to solve your problem, or it would point towards what to do in the future.

    Hi coreyj27936343,

Photos app does not have any external to interact directly with her third editor and it's by design editor.

you will first need to export the images from the Photos app and then import them into Lightroom.

  • Adobe/Apple you have a solution like how to import the Photos App library in Lightroom?

I had the idea of moving off iPhotos unfotunate to the new application Photos. Later, I decided to migrate to LR6. But there is no way that I was able to migrate my library by keeping the organization I did in iPhotos/Photos and albums... Arrival in any solution for this?

I don't have a Mac, and can just Google to find answers to your question, but the last item in the following article seems reasonably simple and involved with the importation of iPhotos plugin I think is built in LR, but change the location from where to import from.  I have no idea if it keeps albums intact or if he'll just give you a big file of all your photos, perhaps grouped by year or some other big division.

  • Import from the News Photos of Apple (not iPhoto) in Lightroom?

As a complete Lightroom beginner how to import since the News Photos of Apple (not iPhoto) in Lightroom?  You said that there are no stupid questions.  I'm excited to get started with Lightroom.

It is better to export Photos to OSX on the desktop versions or better still put them in standard Finder folders. Your versions will include any changes already made (not available in masters) and imported into LR duplicates will be completely separated, protect the library of Photos of corruption.

You may be able to include IPTC metadata when exporting so that all of the keywords etc. imported.
