Import curved CS4 in Lightroom?

If my recollection is correct, and it may be defective... I thought that there was a way to apply a Photoshop picture curve and then bring back this image in Lightroom, if you could do something simple that it won't let you.

What I would like is to make a curve with entry: mapped to 253 and entry 255: 0 mapped to 2, 'block' the center of the curve, then pull up a little in the upper puts in evidence and dwon in the lower shadow to create shoulders. It also prevents losing details that may be there. And then bring back it in LR so I could do a screening of it. I thought I remember people that make the presets for curves in this way before, but I can't figure out how to get LR to see this curve. It shows, at least, when I save the file and return to LR.

You cannot move of course points end in LR... at least, not that I've never been in a position, and this allows to "pop" studio high-key without blowing anything.

Am I crazy? Help, please!

You cannot use the PS curves in Lightroom, but you can do it with ACR Point curves.

Open the image in ACR and change the curve points. Now getback to lightroom, read the metadata and seeing your curve is here. Save as preset (with only the checked tone curve) and you can use it in Lightroom in the future.

  • import of openness to lightroom versions

I'm about to import my Aperture library in Lightroom. I read messages and watch videos YouTube, but all have dates, so I don't know how to update some are.

My big question is Lightroom recognizes now versions, adjustments, TIFF, etc. of Aperture?

If this is not the case, is there good instructions for a work around or import? I don't want to lose thousands of changes.

And, I have to install the Aperture import module? I have trouble finding, so I wonder if it is part of the latest version of Lightroom.

Aperture has a good video of the procedure to follow for the transfer, or is there a recommended video YouTube?

    Thank you!

    Hi Roger,

Opening import plugin is incorporated into Lightroom 5 update.

And it doesn't matter of changes of opening

You can see this FAQ: Opening Import plug-in for Lightroom FAQ

  • Import of files in Lightroom 5

I would like to import photos into folders lightrooms retaining their original names. Or importation is carried out annually and does not keep the names of folders... I would like importing photos records in lightrooms retaining their original names. Or import is done annually and don't keep records of the not the names.

Another question: what is the exact effect of "copy"? The files are sorted in order of capture? What is the date used for sorting? the capture date or modification date? is it possible to influence this date in the file properties? For example, the raw files are sorted by date of capture, but the changed files do not refer to the same date.

Otherwise, what is the exact function of 'move '? I have imported 3 000 photos with "copy", and the whole tree hard disk is changed. How to find the original tree?

  • Import from camera in lightroom with tact camera (camera neutral) image styles

I use the camera neutral style of photo on my Canon 5 d mark ii when shooting landscapes photogtraphy.  I wish that my pictures to remain neutral to the camera when I import them.  However, Lightroom is still by default Adobe Standard photos.  Is there a way for there did not happen?  I'm fairly new to lightroom (used for 5 months) and would be very grateful for help because I am trying to import 16 gigs of Wallowa mountain photogtraphy and do not want to manually edit each photo.

In the develop module, have the image that contains the settings you want for your default highlighted.  In the menu at the top of the screen in Lightroom, go to settings to develop / default and follow the prompts.

  • This program is best to use for importing: 14 elements or Lightroom?

I have 14 elements and CC Lightroom.  Should what program I use for importing photos from my card reader?  Currently, I use elements.   Is there a difference or an advantage over using one program rather than another?  Please let me know.  I tried searching online but you can't find an answer.  Thank you!

There is a big difference in these two 'import' functions-

Items simply copy the images from the camera card and place in a folder on your computer, then it shows them as any image viewer or browser might.

Lightroom made two steps-it copies images and places them in a folder, but it also adds a reference to them in the Lightroom Catalog database.

Lightroom has the big advantage of its database capabilities, its Digital Asset Management (DAM).

  • import of keywords in Lightroom

I currently have thousands of images that have been downloaded on my computer and organized using ZoomBrowser EX. of Canon these images have keywords entered via ZoomBrowser.  I am eager to start using Lightroom instead of organize all my images.  The key words are copied on in Lightroom or do I have to enter all the keywords again when I switch to use Lightroom?

    Thank you!

ZoomBrowser has long been known to its owner, inaccessible to other software database keywords and captions. At least, for several years, ZoomBrowser did not provide all means to save keywords and captions in fields of metadata standard of the industry within the photos, so that they could be read by other programs like LR.

I did a quick search, and it seems that it is always the case.  I found this free utility to save keywords and captions on the metadata of photos: ZB save Meta - browse files on SourceForge.net I have no idea about the quality of the utility.  I strongly advise that you check that your backups actually work before calling it.

If it works, then once you have saved the keywords to photos using the utility, LR will tell them when you import photos.
