  Please can someone help me find a simple solution for Nikon Capture NX2 installation on a new mac running El Capitan?

  Load Nikon Capture NX-2 on Mac OS 10.11.2
  • Mount the image file (.dmg) of Capture NX - 2 installation disc.
  • Launch the Terminal application (located in Applications / Utilities).
  • Copy the following line, paste it in the Terminal window, and then press ENTER.
  CD/Volumes/Capture\ NX\ 2 Setup.
  • Copy the following line, paste it in the Terminal window, and then press ENTER.
  CP - R. Capture\ NX\ ~/desktop/Capture\ NX\ Setup.pkg Setup.pkg
  • Terminal placed a "Capture NX Setup.pkg" file to the desktop.

  Leaving the Terminal.
  • Order click on Capture NX Setup.pkg file and choose "show package content".
  • Access to content / resources folder and remove the 2 elements called 'InstallationCheck' and 'InstallationCheck.applescript '.
  • Return to the "Capture NX Setup.pkg" file and double click it to begin the installation of the NX-2 as usual.

  Also tried to copy app work folder and library app support folder and a fall in correct place - app opens but does not not because of legitimate not recognize Nikon product key.

  DNG Converter 9.0 will work. You select the folder that contains the raw photos. You are trying to select individual photos.

  I'm new to Lightroom, but not to the digital imaging.  I am deciding whether or not to use Lightroom as archiving software.  I have imported photos with various types of files in Lightroom, copy them into the default location and convert NEF photos in .dng files.  Everything seems as it should in what concerns the lists on the left, and the files are where they are supposed to be in the default locations and are operable and viewable in photoshop.

  The problem is that everything that is displayed in the environment Viewer are rectangles greyed.  No images.  Can I export an image in a different file type to an external location and display it correctly.  So all the images are there and LR know where they are (since he created and put them there).  The film in low also rectangles is just gray.

  I have no idea what prevents images from appearing and I hope someone here can help.  I am running XP SP3 and Lightroom 2.5 632038 Raw 5.6.  I import files NAVE of Nikon and a D300 camera Coolpix 4000 Scanner.  Photoshop reads all of these pictures raw with their plug-ins.  Moreover, I also imported jpg and tiff files and they do not appear in the screen either.

  Believe it or not, your monitor profile is corrupt. A corrupted profile can sometimes manifest only in LR and not in other programs managed by color as Photoshop.

  Either use a hardware standard, which is the best thing (look up on the web Spyder), or modify your monitor profile by default in sRGBxxxx, with the rest of your profiles. On Windows XP, you can do this through control of management/display/settings/advanced/color of the Panel. Make the second of these two things is really just a stopgap. If you don't calibrate it with a hardware device, you will always have incorrect colors.

  Anyway, to convince yourself that the profile is in fault, change it in the color management.

• Error Windows Vista and software Capture NX2. Help!

  I use Capture nx2 originally on my computer for a few months now.  Every time ina while Windows gives me an error that reads "Nikon Capture NX2 has stopped working" chekcing for solutions, blah blah blah.  Normally, when this happened I closed the program, go back and it would work very well.  Since yesterday, I open the program, it tries, but immediately gives me the error "program stopped working."  I contacted Nikon who told to install the latest update and I did and it didn't do anything else.  Help, please!  I'm a photographer and I need it to work YESTERDAY!  Thanks in advance!

  It may be a compatibility problem with the Nikon software.
  If you have an older application for Windows XP that does not work in Windows Vista, you can make it work properly by running the program in compatibility mode.
  1. to start, find the application or the shortcut which is the cause of the problem, and then right-click on it and select Properties.
  2. then, select compatibility in the menu tabs at the top of the properties page:
  3. now check the box run this program in compatibility mode "dethrone" and select the operating system you want to emulate. For most applications, this will be Windows XP SP2. Once you are finished, click OK.
  4. When you then run the application, it must run under compatibility using the OS mode you have selected. If it runs properly, try another selection of OS in step 3, and then try again.

  Run the installer in compatibility mode:

  1 right click on the file icon installation.
  2. click on properties > compatibility.
  3. Select the compatibility mode for Windows XP.
  4. click on OK.
  5. run the installation program.

  After installation, run the program in Windows XP compatibility mode by doing the same thing with the installed program.

  Seems to be a problem with the destination location.

  Try changing the location of destination at the top on the right under 'FOR' pictures folder or any other location on your local hard drive.

• LR & Ps 2015 do not recognize the NAVE of Nikon 5500 files

  I have a Nikon 5500. I have a PC with Windows 7 (64-bit) is installed. Adobe States that 6 Lightroom can read the NAVE of Nikon 5500 files. I have the latest version of Lightroom and Photoshop CC 2015 installed on my PC and it cannot read my NEF files. It says file is not recognized.  Everything I've read suggests that they should be able to be read / recognized. How can I get the Lr and Ps 2015 to read RAW files?

  You import images directly from an SD card or you have used a utility for image transfer to copy the pictures on the desktop, and then import you into Lightroom.

  If so, then take a few shots at random and import images directly from the SD card.

  Since my last update App, I experienced some problems when you import images from LR into PS

  1. where, in LR, I select 2 or more images of 'open as layers in PS', I get a Pop Up telling me that I need the latest version of Camera Raw... It is up to date according to my account.

  2. once I finished with the photos in PS and save them in LR... the final image is ebb in different areas of the strip of film...  Sometimes it is the first image... sometimes, it's the last image...  I have the set to Capture time.  It slows down my work flow in organizing my photos.   I photograph the real estate and the placement of the final images is crucial.

  All the tips are greatly appreciated.

My raw images go very dull looking in lightroom, but when using NX - D they are much sharper, without making adjustments. I tried to adjust the raw image in lightroom to match but I can only get so close after a lot of work. What does Nikon NX - D to improve these Nikon NEF raw files? Can we apply a preset for importing images raw with the same settings?

  This is normal. This is normal operation for Lightroom.

  Software Nikon has the advantage of being able to know how the unit has been designed and also read data from camera settings in the RAW file, neither of which is an ability of Lightroom. So, NX - D made this adjustment automatically, while Lightroom can't.

  As far as I know, there is just no Lightroom not preset that will work on every photo in all cases and depending on your experience and other people who have tried, it is useless to try to find a. In Lightroom, you can create very good results from Nikon NEF RAW photos (that many people me including as better than the results from the Nikon software) with not a lot of effort, and there are some good presets available, including presets for calibration of camera included in Lightroom; But if you want to match software Nikon EXACTLY, I would say that it will take a huge amount of work (if possible at all) and it's not worth.

• CS4 does not open the NAVE of Nikon D7000 files; Is there a DNC that opens to them?

  I have CS4 and light room 2

  Apparently there is no Camera Raw update for new NAVE of Nikon D7000 for CS4 files.

  So I downloaded the Adobe Digital negative converter Verson 6.3.0.79 which is compatible with Camera Raw 5.4 or later.

  Using this DNC, when I do step 1, "select the images to convert" I get the message "no items don't match your search.  It is apparently not files NAVE achievements the D7000.

  Is there an another DNC that will open and convert the D7000 NEF files?

  I just bought the d7000 yesterday and had the same problem with cs4. I downloaded the adobe DNG Converter and selected the whole folder where the raw files (I was unable to select individual images) and it worked fine. He treated the files one by one with the new name (without the pricetag CS5 $ 500 at the moment). The DNG files in bridge and psd. Maybe try to select the folder?  Good luck.
