Import of music in Microsoft Movie Maker

I am trying to import my iTunes music bought list of songs for use in a Windows Movie Maker video.  How can I do this?  I can see where I can import songs that iTunes allows me to access.  But what of my personal list of the purchased songs?  Do I have to convert the file type?  I am a total novice, so I have no idea how to do that.

Hi Lynette

I think that you may need to convert iTunes purchases to mp3 format for use in MM... I remember well iTunes offers like M4A files. (I hope that someone will say otherwise if I'm wrong!)

I assume that you have "iTunes for Windows", already installed on your Windows pc, in which case you can create an mp3 version here. Confirm, and I'll come back tomorrow and show you how... (I'm just sign off for tonight) Cordially-R.

Currently, I did a video using Windows Movie Maker Version 6. I downloaded several downloads mp3 audio and have only been able to import a couple of them in Windows Movie Maker. I downloaded three downloads of specific music that will not matter. I have no explanation, and it makes no sense that I can download some but not all mp3 downloads. What can I do to be importable download music in Windows Movie Maker? or import music that I already paid for and tried to import?

    Hello, guenoun.

I seem to have the same problem as tantoe but when I clicked on the link in your message, it took me to the page, but the person's recommendation was not good; It (don't remember the name) had two links to click & when I clicked on the two I was redirected to a page that says that the page could not be found.

The song with that I have a problem is "I'm in love (with a killer)" by Jeffree Star &, as with all my other audio files that I did NOT have this problem with, is mp3 format. I have a video in mind with this song & pictures I saved star but Windows Movie Maker cannot import it.

If there is anything you could do, advice you could give, I would really appreciate it. This is my favorite song by Jeffree Star & it drives me crazy not being able to import it into Movie Maker. :-/

  • Microsoft Movie Maker - cannot change the length of each clip.

Cannot change the length of each clip on Microsoft Movie Maker.

I clicked on 'tools', then 'options' in Microsoft Movie Maker after importing my media and organize my clips as the way I would like it. When I then click on the "Advanced" tab, image duration shows only 5 seconds with the transition period only 1.25 seconds, which is the default setting and that is also what I want. However, when I play my project in Movie Maker, it accelerates through each clip. I also noticed that when I press the title of 'Clip' in my headings at the top left and then click on 'Properties', the duration of each clip shows that only 00:02 seconds. Which is why my speed clips too quickly.

I would have thought that setting my time of duration in the Tools section would then set in the Clips section, but this is obniously does not. I don't understand why everyone would show differently and wonder if you can help me to slow down the speed that my movie is playing.

    Thank you

Yes, google for a FREE audio converter. Change your itunes songs or songs that are not supported by the manufacturer of film in MP3, WMA or WAV... mp3 and wma are more preferable. WAV format is too large file size, not practical.
