• Search RoboHelp HTML 8 problem

  I have a RoboHelp 8 HTML single (non-merged) project in which, I can't get search working properly.

  I was expecting to see a box where I can type a search term and a white pane on the contents, Index, search, glossary bar where search results would appear.  Instead, I get the following when I generate WebHelp:

  

  
  This problem appears in IE 6, IE 7, Firefox 3.0 and 3.5 of Firefox, which uses our customer base.  I use RoboHelp 8 on a Windows PC with XP Pro 2002 SP3.

  In the project/general settings dialog box, the default parameters for the Stop List I and her always ignore list selected.  For "add new keywords for ' I 'Index File (Perfect)' selected, and 'Binary Index' is selected.

  During the generation of WebHelp, I have the following set:

  General selections: under 'Additional Options', 'apply to all subjects","CSS"is selected, with the correct name of the CSS is displayed.  'Add the Mark of the Web' is selected.

  Selections of navigation: contents, Index, search, for the buttons of the toolbar, glossary are selected.  For Search Options, 'Search results select Enable' is selected.

  Selection of preferred Format of navigation pane is pure HTML.  (We tried DHTML/HTML but which resulted in an empty nav component and a non-functional index).

  Optimize the speed for: Web Site (Internet)

  Publish: Publish again together.

  What we're doing wrong?  I'm totally stumped and I can't seem to find any help on this issue anywhere.  Thank you!

  This is because you use pure HTML. You must enable DHTML, otherwise, it seems that you see.

• Import of pdf in RoboHelp HTML 8.

  I get an error "not supported or corrupted file" when you try to import a PDF as a topic in RoboHelp HTML 8. The file opens correctly in Acrobat.

  Known issue, I'm sorry to say. It happens with PDF files created in newer versions of Acrobat. The only solution I know at the moment is to recreate the file PDF as an older version of Acrobat or one of the many free PDF creators.

• Compilation of Robohelp for Word like MS HTML Help project

  I am compiling a RoboHelp for Word X 5 project in Miscrosoft HMTL format help (.chm) and on the first page of every one of my books of projects is a paragraph of all the names of different fonts (see below). How the heck can I get rid of this?

  Curiosity inactive, is a compiled. CHM only several outputs, you create and you still need to WinHelp? If this is the main output, you should really consider moving away from RoboHelp for Word and RoboHelp HTML.

• RoboHelp word vs Robohelp Office Pro

  
  
  OK, don't laugh... im a bit lost here. I am a daughter of project who works mainly with the process and the people and gave Robohelp as my first project. We have just received Robohelp Office Pro x 5 and for now, I use the demo to become familiar with building demand but can't seem to go through the import of files.
  
  I have opened a Webpro project and try to import documents to work. Topic name appears differently to what I asked, and it's not automatically format based on the styles that I created.
  
  I'm doing something wrong here... I think I'm on the wrong track.

  Using RoboHelp for Word? If this isn't the case, you must realize that this forum is for issues using the RoboHelp for Word application. RoboHelp Office offers the two RoboHelp for Word and RoboHelp HTML. If you create an output based on the web, you probably want to use RoboHelp HTML.

• RoboHelp HTML crashes after emptying a project

  I use Framemaker to do most of my creation and then import the files into RoboHelp HTML to generate HTML Help. As the first step of importing the files, I have to delete all the topics, table of contents entries and entries IX of the RoboHelp project. If I do this, I find myself with duplicates everywhere in the project.
  
  After the project I have empty and try to save it, HR goes belly up and I have to click through two sets of dialog boxes "Adobe Robohelp 7 has encountered a problem and needs to close." After you click 'Send error report' a dozen times, I wonder if there is anything I can do about this problem.

  John, I couldn't help but notice that you said you are trying to delete ALL the content of the project. And here's where my instincts tell me the lies of the question.

  My thought is that you could take the following approach. Create a unique topic. One that will never exist in Framemaker. Only in RoboHelp. Then forget about this topic. Don't delete ever or something. Then, when you do your own out, I would take this approach.

  Clear the table of contents and Index. Does not matter the order in which you use. These first hunting just as you shoot. I say FLUSH these, because they depend on the content in the topics.
  Rinse the subjects. Hey, all, but the only subject which should remain.

  Here, my thought is that if you remove the entire system's RoboHelp goes belly up with no subject. And if you deleted the items first, RoboHelp can be gobs of updates gagging as she foolishly tries to follow all the sudden broken links to table of contents and Index items. That is why I proposed these as a first step.

  I'm pass RoboHelp for word in RoboHelp HTML. The initial project of assistance was created years ago, and the developers who worked on it are not here anymore. Where can I find detailed instructions for our developers understand how to link the files to RoboHelp for our product application? (I haven't decided yet if you want to use Microsoft HTML Help or WebHelp as a main page layout. More information on how to associate the files could help me decide).
  
  Also, are there instructions anywhere to help understand how to bind the files in application contextual help card ID?

• Missing spaces between words after you import the Word document in RoboHelp HTML version 8

  I created a document + 400 pages in Word 2007 and it imported in RoboHelp 8 (HTML, not RoboHelp for Word). Many places, the space between a bold Word and a word not fat is no longer there. I would like to avoid having to go through all of the HR document to replace the spaces manually. Not imported correctly?

  Seems perfect, works terribly...

  Things to consider:

  • Chances are, the different treatments of space are due to the question of if the space was included in bold the word in MS Word.
  • In addition, as Word files contain a large part underlying the binary code (macros and others), your security settings may or could be don't play well with the word stuff.
  • You import the Word file from a network location, or your local computer? Network traffic may be partially import impact, too.

  Bottom line? You will probably need to clear any formatting in the Word file and redo the formatting correctly. To test this, cut a few pages into a new Word file, clear and redo the formatting in Word, import file in another project HR the Word and see what results you get.

  To clear the formatting:

  1. Select text.
  2. On the home tab, in the group policy , click clear formatting.
  3. Redo formatting, making sure to do not format the spaces.

• Problems importing files in Robohelp HTML PDF

  Hi, I am trying to import several files in PDF format I will then link to in my help file.  I get an error message that Robohelp is unable to import due to file being one "type of file not supported or the file is corrupt."  I don't see how they can be corrupted when I created them a few minutes before they open fine.  Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

  Well, now we're cooking!

  What you need to do now is add these PDFs to your list of hatracks.

  The pod of RoboHelp HTML project, you should see a folder luggage nickname if you are in Classic view. If you are in the new global vision that you won't see it.

  If you see the nickname baggage files folder, right-click. If you don't see the folder luggage nickname, right click on the nickname project files folder.

  Click new > file of baggage.

  This should be a dialog box allowing you to choose the documents. (you can add more than one at a time)

  After obtaining their added as baggage, you are able to link to them.

• Problems with CHM search & Index after you import the Word Document

  I recently inherited from all things RoboHelp at work, but the last person to work with our projects left 6 months ago.  I received a brief overview of how our CHM files are from the same word in HR 7 HTML document.

  Currently, I use RoboHelp HTML 9, but have problems with the indexing and search of an imported file in Word 2003 (.doc) features.  During my import, only a single topic is created and named after the source document.  I believe that this may be the root of my problems, but have not had much luck with a solution.

  I have stumbled my way through adjustment after adjustment, but feel I'm missing something obvious.  Any help would be appreciated.

  Background:

  Our source documents have a working table of contents and topic structure 1 - 3.  When creating a new project and import the document, the table of contents are imported correctly.  TOC navigation links seem to work fine.

  I used the smart Index Wizard to find new keywords to topic titles and the text of the topic.  Unfortunately it seems that import only creates a single, named subject according to the word source document and associates so all the keywords of the unique subject.  When you try to navigate the index after the CHM is generated, all the links reference just the beginning of the document.

  When you use the search functionality in CHM, only a single result is returned for any search words.  This result is always the only subject, as described above.  The link to the results always picks you up at the beginning of the document, but highlights the key word throughout the document.

  When you import there is an Advanced button in any of the dialog boxes. Click and you'll be able to Paginate against selected styles. That will stop your document in the headings.

• RoboHelp Word closes generation HTML Help after 2 MB of images

  Hi, I'm evaluating RoboHelp for Word 8 for my business. I use the trial version of RoboHelp for Word 8. Building the content of files hep in the Word document I insert images by using the Insert-> picture-> Word file menu. After that I inserted about 2 MB of images RoboHelp crashes when I run the RoboHelps file-> generate main Layout for MS HtmlHelp, in the menu. The compiler output crashes just essentially by the following:

  I found the image on the border of the size limit and delete it and am able to generate the output. I can also replace it with a much smaller image and can generate the output.

  This seems very strange to me, 2 MB is nothing. We mainly use a JPG image and two small GIFs. This could be just a problem with the trial version of RoboHelp 8 or maybe RoboHelp wants images inserted in Word in a different way?

  You missed my point. With RoboHelp HTML you do not have to import, you link and then create the CHM. The Word document can reside on the network and SMEs can change. When you build, RoboHelp prompts you to update the topics in the current version of the document.

  Thus, you always have your Word documents available for others to update and you still have your CHMS.

  Which version of Word you are using. In 2007, things RoboHelp seems to be in the Add-In Ribbon.

• Problem with the compilation after import from word

  I have a RH6 project that has built several layouts without problem. This morning I have imported a Word 2003 file and since I can't even generate my main layout (what is Microsoft HTML Help). To do this, the copy phase of the files, but all in the middle of the phase of update files I get the message "RoboHelp HTML Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. "I have the ability to send or do not send an error report. Then, RoboHelp closes without completing the construction.

  The imported section had a table with merged cells and you use an expression of generation when you build? If this could be the case see extracted 68 on my site. Known issue and a patch is available.

• RoboHelp 2015 won't let me import a Word document

  People,

  I just install Robohelp 2015 (version 12.0.0.306).

  When I try to import a Word file to create a new project, it fails, and I see the message:

  "The import Word Document Wizard cannot locate a supported Microsoft Word version. Please install Microsoft Word 2000 or newer. »

  But I use Word 2016.

  What is a known compatibility issue?

• importing FrameMaker 7.2 to RoboHelp HTML files does not work

  When you try to import files FM 7.2 RoboHelp HTML 10, I get the following message:

  "This operation cannot be completed without FrameMaker. Install FrameMaker and try again. »

  I have FrameMaker 7.2 installed. So why I get this message? More important still, why didn't it work?

  After contacting the representative of cat from Adobe, the answer is that the HR 10 does not support FM 7.2. HR requires FM 8 or later version installed:

• RoboHelp HTML Version 10. -OK to use a tool for cleaning HTML on RoboHelp topics?

  We are considering using an Internet tool like www.cleanuphtml.com to clean the html inline styles in a large number of RoboHelp topics imported from Word several years ago. After cleaning, we can always use the styles in our CSS. Did anyone see any potential problems here? Here's what the cleanup tool added to the Head section. It then uses these "internal" styles to clean HTML code. Thank you - Charlie Kyle

  I have not seen any reference to this tool on creating sites that I follow, that does not mean that it will not work without problems, just that there is nothing to do.

  Where I could expect problems in the future, it's when edit you the CSS or you want to apply a new. Your content will always be the embedded CSS that you printed. What works today might work tomorrow and then again...

  I don't want to clean with a good search and replace tool, but it's the way that I would go with a lot of backup.
