  As a host, I am often downloading animated GIFs to websites like dribbble and imgur. Animations are created in After Effects, but I always export sequences of images or AE quicktime files and open them in Photoshop to then export it as a gif. I would love to cut out the extra steps it takes to get a final GIF that is ready for download with the possibility to export directly to a GIF animated EI. • Saving files from After Effects to CC for use on other machines.

  I am very very new to After Effects, so I'm sure there is a simple solution to my question.  I recently attempted to save a file from After Effects on Dropbox to transfer easily to another machine, however when I went to open this file on the new machine, several documents in the file, it was missing (png, fonts, scripts etc...).  I suspected that the reason for it is because the png and the fonts were used by AE as they were stored on the original machines and have not actually imported (or copied) in the AE file, so when I went to open the file on the computer again the files were missing that they were not installed on the new machine (is this correct?).  If I record the creative cloud AE files will be I experience this problem? I'll be able to open the AE files on another computer that does not have fonts reference, PNG, jpeg etc. available?

  Yes, AE projects contain only references to external resources. That's why you should pack in full e.g. usind the option collect files. The procedures do not differ to any method that you use, so you better get used to and organize your work in a way so it can be transferred easily.

• Problem importing adobe first project in After effects CS6

  I have worked in first of Adobe and sequelae for quite a few years now and this problem is new to me.

  I work on a project After Effects CS6 and want to import a project first pro in After Effects. I'll-> file-> import-> adobe first project

  I found the solution!

  In my first adobe project that I tried to import, some of the clips have been "right click" and apply "scale to the size of the image.

  Each video clip that had "adapt to the size of the image' in my sequence first pro from adobe would incorporate as its own composition in After Effects, rather than just a videofile and some of the clips could be cut down to be invisible.

  So if you have a problem with a clip import does not correctly in a sequence of after-effects, check that "adapt to the size of the image" is not applied to the clip in first pro.

  I removed the scale to the size of the image in the project to create and everything is now fine in sequels.

  is the flv almost 2.5 MB? If so, your only option to significantly reduce swf size is to load the FLV dynamically (which is not usually allowed with banner ads).

  I have a logo of a company I wanted to animate to appear as if the script is written. There is a .psd file I imported all the layer containing the letters I want to animate. I tried used STROKE and a tool of the pen in an attempt to create a path that I want to wrote the text, but I think I'm doing something wrong. I confess to not being too familiar with how to do this in After Effects, but I'm on a deadline with the customer and need advice. Can anyone help? Here's the .png file, I created since the .psd.

  You will encounter problems with crisscross lines that need to be addressed by splitting the layer when the race goes through intersections. The technique is relatively simple. More your text and lines more overlapping, you have time eating is.

Move to the front of an image and remove the mask which is at the origin of the hole. Go forward until the line appears across the hole, divide the layer and remove the mask caused the hole. Repeat until you have all problems solved.

  Here's a start to the project using your supplied PNG file. I made the first crossing a few for you so you can see how it's done. I drew only a few masks on the text. You will have to do the rest. One last thing, you will see an additional path on the track matte layer which does not cover anything. This race is here to give time to the pen to move from the first mask on the S to the following letters. Setting the length of this race is an easier way to fine-tune the time to animate the end point of the race.  Enjoy.

  A note more, I probably would have just used a text layer in AE for this work. There is nothing special about the PNG file that couldn't have been done more efficiently with a text layer.

• MP4 from After Effects will not play on iPad Air
