  I can import the Raw file successfully, but can't see all the changes that have been applied in Capture One. IM assuming not, but just to check.

  Your assumption is correct, Capture One, Lightroom and other third party raw processors have their own exclusive process and profiles to render the raw data.

  They do not make permanent changes to the raw data and save changes to a .xmp file or to a Lightroom catalog file.

  What kind of error message do you receive? Quote it exactly, if you please.

  If it says that the file cannot be read, this means that they cannot be written. Not the greatest error message. In any case, if this is the case, you will need to change the permissions on the folder that you copy in, while you are allowed to write there.

  (If you try to write on an external drive that you used on your Windows machine, it is probably formatted so that the Mac addresses it read-only. There you can get programs that allow to write on these Mac disks.)

I use the accounting software and it would save my company a lot of time if our PDF invoices could be pushed into Quickbooks or converted in order to enter into our system without having to type in it.

  The previous answer is just a little - if everyone uses the same format, etc etc, it would be fairly simple to import PDF files into other software. But alas, everyone sends a different format.

  But there are there tools that work well. But they have limits. The tools work best if you have some layouts that you want to import (IE a known provider set). So, you need a reasonable volume of each - if not then just enter the data will be more effective.

  Try looking at ChimpKey who do a good job of importing a PDF file. He does this by converting the PDF to XML, Excel, CSV etc. which will import properly in various popular software. If you have a good amount of data entry, then this approach certainly you will save time and money.

  Yes, after you use Lightroom to correct the capture time in the files themselves, in the library the library module > rename Photo allows you to rebuild all the filenames selected from scratch. Just customize the preset file name. Use the chips here, you can set up a change of name that begins with a numbering sequence (so that they appear in the order you want) and including the Date, hour, Minute, second in addition to other chips or custom text to add to each file name.

  You need a minimum of Lightroom v5.2 to import directly into Lightroom.

  You can use the Adobe's DNG Converter to convert CR2 to DNG first and import this way if you do not want to upgrade your version of Lightroom for more later.

  I'm not a MAC person, but I don't think you want to import into System\Library.

  You want to select a folder somewhere that is not in the directory system, but a directory that is designed for users to actually put their files, as in the Photos, Documents or an external HD.

  I shot some photos this morning, and the camera is set up to generate a RAW and JPEG file (if it's a difference, the camera is a Panasonic Lumix GX1). I copied all the files from the SD card to a folder on an external HARD drive and then tried to import into Lightroom.

  In the import dialog box, the only files he showed me import were the RA2 (Panasonic RAW) files, not JPEG files.   I used to shoot RAW and JPG and always used to all copy in the same folder. That worked well, but was a bit pointless as the JPG served as only a temporary preview until the RAW was loaded in behind her. For the speed of editing events, I started to divide files in two separate folders and import, but tag and basic edits, crops etc. on jpg files, so for the use of the 'News' site, then work on any higher quality customer since the FIRST requirement.   You can try Syncomatic Plugin from John Beardythat will synchronize the metadata and possibly develop settings between different file formats with the same (or similar) base name. Subsequently you can stack the Raws with JPEG files, possibly using Auto carpet when capturing".

  But remember that application development parameters of a file to a Raw JPEG may not create the desired corrections, as the base is something completely different.
