Import swf from Captivate 3

Hi, someone at - it has imported a single file and fast that contains its own control presenter since a published file in Captivate 3 reading?
Currently, when you post Cap 3 two files are created xxx.swf and xxx_skin.swf... Import both of them in the presenter does not work either.

The idea is to have a voice more and points on the left side of the slide, and then on the right swf file with its own control of reading for the user to play manually after the voices above.

By disabling the "frontiers" in the skin, option will publish only a swf file.

Yeap, sure they do, but do not work your references '_root' likely
as you put a SWF file within a SWF file (who is also probably compiled inside
a SWF file). Note a post more soon where the fix was to precede functions

I have no idea if loadMovie still works, but can't hurt to try.

  • Import content from sources other than PowerPoint

We have a lot of "tutorials" we want to convert on Captivate, who has previously written in a proprietary tool, company built. I would like to know if there is any way we could generate XML data that can be ingested by Captivate generates elements on the screen (text and graphics) which will then support developers to add interactivity actions. Import PowerPoint does not for us because we do not want to merge the graphics and text into a single image that is imported.

Furthermore, if there is a way to develop plugins for Captivate tools and an API to work with, kind of like VBA for Office, which would also work.

    Thank you

    Ilya Voloshin

Sorry, but this is not possible.

There is an option to import XML in Adobe Captivate, but it is only used for importing into an XML document that has first been exported. Mostly this is used to locate the purpose (translation).

The only other similar feature is the possibility to import files from DON to create Question slides.

    See you soon... Rick

  • Impossible to import SWF more! ?? Workaround solutions?

Oh dear. As the host, being able to import SWF files from always useful.

According to me, it seems impossible to do more.

What is the solution more simple, you guys found?

I guess I can convert a stream of image and import. Also I can copy a chronology of one FLA to another. Both are of extra work.

I thought that the upgrade was supposed to add features?

The simplest solution is to use the version that provides the features you want.  CC has many useful features removed.

  • Discovers a .swf from a Mac

    Hello community,

This seems to be a simple question for me but I can't seem to find an answer in the forums...

If I use a Mac, how can I view a .swf file? Is a required plug-in?

Here's the situation... we create the training of new recruits PRIOR to the first day at the office. Some of these new recruits will use Mac at home.

This training will be stored on our CMS that allows no HTML, however, she allows. SWF files.

If a new employee is trying to access the .swf from a Mac, it cannot be displayed.

What (the community) suggestions do you have for this scenario?

    BTW-we use Cap 5.5.

    Thank you in advance,

    Susan

SWF requires Adobe Flash Player plugin which is not supported by Apple devices. So, you can either convert your SWF output in mp4 (many tools available on the net for it) or post your file as output mp4.

Here is a short video showing publish them feature of Captivate 5.5 mp4.

  • Import symbols from another .fla file

    Hello

I've looked everywhere, until I got bored. Is there a way I can import symbols from another .fla file? For my game, I have a file named background.fla which has several origins and I want to import from it and modify it if necessary. Is there a way I can do?

Also after I read if I want to import a .swf file in my main .fla it will lose all of its code, but I want to import a character and use it with gotoAndPlay() and gotoAndStop().

I have a last question if you don't mind, I have the knowledge base of OOP and I know it's imposible: I want to create a class, create an instance of it in my main .fla and somehow this class controls the code in my main file. I found a way with timers, but it's pretty expensive on memory...

Thank you for your time (^^)

Yes, you can do it dynamically, too.  check the applicationdomain class.

  • Problems of importation of slides / Captivate 3

I have a series of 6 related Captivate projects, as well as one I use as a template. Given that certain content shared, I need to be able to copy slides from one project to the other, but I have serious problems with import. When I try to import slides from one project to another, usually what happens is the process is running (slowly) and then I get an additional blank slide (no matter how I tried to import). Or nothing at all.

I have tried everything I can think of-importation of slides only (no object), import to and to leave only for very small projects, excluding the slides in the issue of import, import of small series of slides - contiguous and do not clear the cache, my disk cleanup, restart...

I'm puzzled. If something is watered? Any ideas I can try? I have in the past had no trouble w/import, even within this set of files...

    I am using Captivate 3 & XP.

    Thanks in advance.

I tried a suggestion from Rick (Captiv8r) in response to another position, and so far, it seems to have been a miracle cure for this and a few other headaches. The solution is to delete or rename this file: captivate_v30.dat

Here is the link to the other post and the solution:

  • How to import bookmarks from the laptop to the desktop using Firefox 38.0 on both devices?

I am currently using Firefox on my desktop or portable 38.0 and need to import my favorites of the laptop on my desk which also has Firefox 38.0. Please provide details on how to perform this procedure.

    Thank you

    Vern7

Pretty simple and easy, not only are there alternative methods, as is often the case in computing, but different methods produce different results.
Aid articles have more complete explanations with step by step instructions and screenshots.

You have the choice of four methods depending on what you're trying to reach. Ask you what set of bookmarks is the largest and most complex?

Import and export of the a.)
This adds bookmarks. It spikes on the existing ones. (For example, if the laptop: unsorted, folder of bookmarks and bookmarks are now additional folders in the existing desktop bookmarks menu.)
Useful to simply do what you asked: export the Favorites of the laptop and import those on the desktop.
However, if the office is new and has only a few bookmarks on it, but the laptop has the major then consider

    1. Export of the desktop as a HTML file.
    2. Backup of the laptop to create a .json file
    3. Restore the .json laptop on the desktop file.
    4. Follow-up to import HTML file
    • Office has now all the bookmarks of the laptop, as well as his own originals

    See

    (B) backup and restore
This procedure by report written all existing bookmarks. He retained the structure of folders and bookmark labels. Ideal if bookmarks of laptop are the only ones that you care. Or combine the two methods, as suggested above.

(C.) manually replace the bookmarks and the historical database.
Not what you asked but that also gets the history information.
This is useful if you often rely on the addessbar acting as the awesomebar

    (D.) sync
An alternative is to use Firefox Sync. Who should ensure that the laptop and the Office have the same bookmarks.
However if you do this save your bookmarks manually before the first sync bookmarks. I highly recommend that if synchronize you bookmarks you make regular manual backups too, because Sync itself can sometimes corrupt and duplicates of bookmarks. (If you do not notice this corruption quickly you can't have automated bookmarks that are free of corruption.)

I can't import bookmarks from Safari Firefox 36.0.4 5.1.10. I do not see "Library" or "Bookmark manager" or something (I think I saw a function import in an earlier version of Firefox) which is often considered online. I have a white iMac under Snow Leopard (10.6.8)

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

When you install firefox for the first time, you should automatically see an import dialog box. If you have already installed firefox, follow these instructions:

    1. go in the bookmarks menu, then choose "Show all bookmarks" (gives you the library)
    2. in the row of icons at the top, click on the button that has a star with a clock inside icon (fifth from the left)
    3. Select 'import data from another browser.
    4. choose "safari".
    5. choose what information you want to import (you can also import your preferences and history)

  • Is it possible to organize the bookmarks into folders? Is it possible to import bookmarks from another browser (by default) (not counting the native browser or Chrome)?

The model of authorisation for Android does not access other apps to their settings. Chrome and the stock Android browser have some special access rules that allow to see the bookmarks of other applications. Also, is it possible to import bookmarks from Chrome or the stock Android browser.

  • Import bookmarks from another browser chrome or IE

I've been using Comodo browser before and have all my favorites here. Although Comodo browser is chrome based I could not import my favorites.
    Please notify.
    Thank you

Firefox will import bookmarks from Chrome, but obviously not from the browser from Comodo.

Please check with the Comodo browser support and ask them how export your bookmarks in bookmarks.html format, as all browsers I've never seen used for import bookmarks / favorites that were exported from a different brand - and browser to export even.

The bookmarks.html format is / was the unofficial standard for import and export to and from web browsers for many years, but not all browsers still supports this "standard."

I don't use Chrome and Opera (based on WebKit, as Chrome) according to me does not seem to support the bookmarks.html format to export bookmarks more - or I didn't want this feature in Opera quite hard.

I can't import images from a Windows 7 PC via ITunes iPhone 4S and a USB cable. I have updates for the iPhone and iTunes and have restarted all devices several times. I managed to import photos using the same procedure in the past and I need to free up the storage space on my iPhone.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Wilson!

From your post, I see that you run into a few problems with importing the photos to your computer Windows 7, but you have been able to import them in the past.  I can help with incentive because I'd be the same way and want to free up space on my computer.

To start with, take a look at this article which gives some steps to follow when running into a problem with their import:

If you are unable to import photos from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to your computer

If you run into a problem where the Windows 7 PC isn't recognise the iPhone at all, then follow the steps here as "If you use a Windows PC:

  • How to import bookmarks from Chrome, a different system?

I want to consolidate all the bookmarks of an old system in Mozilla on a new sys.
How can I import bookmarks from Chrome (old system) in Mozilla (new system)?

Chrome Bookmarks Manager allows you to export the Favorites to an HTML file. If you type "chrome://bookmarks" in the address bar of Chrome and take a look under the "Organize" menu you will find the option.

Once you have the HTML file, you can import it into Firefox on any system. Open the Firefox bookmarks library and look for the option 'Import Bookmarks HTML'.
