  Have you tried to Folder Options > view > reset records? It is the button in the top right.

  So I have a desktop of windows 8. I used to be able to split 50-50 screen, next to the applications with 2 or more apps, but when my brother reformatted pc, I can't do split screen or more? like all I can do is this form of 80/20 with the other application to be reduced to a button. I can't resize the apps by dragging the bar, because it only reduces the already big screen to another screen of 80/20.
