Important message to act

I get a message from update to 8.1 and when I entered my product number, said that HP does not even recognize this computer. I'm not too tech savvy and I got it for Christmas and I am constantly to the red mark. I have the HP ENVY 15 laptop, I have no CD ROM so there is no resource CD or reinstall all my CD programs installed without my backup. Crazy huh? Can someone help me?

To prevent future problems with your hard drive...
is highly recommended to do a restore of your operating system.

The upgrade to windows 8.1... many programs preinstalled on your computer is not compatible with w8.1.
Maybe it's why you get the red mark.

You can check the compatibility of your computer and programs... Here.
You can upgrade to windows 8.1 but first uninstall programs that are not compatible with w8.1.
If you do not like w8.1 can return to your w8.
To return to your w8 factory...
Turn off your computer.
When you turn on your computer, you click on the F11 key and follow the instructions
With this final step, you return to w8.

I hope that this little guide, your query is resolved.

    Hi Marion,.

The most likely cause is that you have a setting that is configured to do this in your e-mail program or in your online account.  I recommend that to start with your email provider to see if they can help you with this problem (as it's probably something in these settings, or they may be able to find the settings in the program that you are using if it's one they know).  If they can help or saying is not your online account settings, then we need to know the version of Windows you use, e-mail program, (name and version) you are using, or the browser you use to access the account.  With this, we can help you with the problem or refer you to experts that specialize in what you use.

    Thanks and good luck!

  • import messages in OE6 problem

I can't import messages/issues of identity. I lost some files/folders this morning (don't know not how they were deleted, I think that the now missing folder has been selected by mistake and pulled to another folder of Outlook Express existing) so I'll try to get back them.

When I drill down to the local setting folder, identities, Microsoft, Outlook Express folder I can see the my folders/files missing however when I try to import this file I do not have to select the files. It's like they are invisible for the import process. Am I missing a step in the import process?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need these files/messages.

  • Import messages from Outlook Express Email to Windows Live Mail

Cannot import Outlook Express in XP mail message in the new computer with Windows Live Mail on Windows 7 64-bit

Cannot import Outlook Express in XP mail message in the new computer with Windows Live Mail on Windows 7 64-bit

These instructions are WLMail 2009. They apply to the 2011 WLMail, but browsing can be slightly different.

Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For Messages:

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

Open the Contacts list in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

    For the account settings:

In OE: Tools | Accounts, select the account and export it to the desktop. This will be an .iaf file. Copy it to the new computer and WLMail desktop: tools | Accounts and import the settings from the location you saved the.

I have 8 window. I tried to import messages from outlook express inbox messages to outlook but the computer just imported in items sent and delete items only. She did not import messages in the Inbox. The computer says windows encountered mail import your OE Mail errors. I did something wrong?

    Thank you

As a general rule, you must import OE to Outlook on the same computer (XP) and then transfer them to the new machine.

You try to import from the storage folder in OE dbx files?

If you still have the machine with OE set up, you can do it this way.

To create a Windows folder on the desktop from the old machine.
    * Open a folder in OE and drag the messages into the folder on the desktop. (They will remain in OE).
To copy this folder on the desktop on the new machine.
Open the folder and drag the messages to a folder in the new e-mail program.

  • Reinstall Thunderbird without old imported Messages of OE?

I installed Thunderbird on a test basis. Unfortunately during installation, the program asked if I wanted to import data from another source, I agreed without thinking. Now we have many messages unwanted Outlook Express in the system of Thunderbird.

I would like to delete these messages. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird, but even after the program has been completely uninstalled, when I reinstall, it always seems to reload all the unwanted messages in Outlook Express. Is it possible that I can reinstall Thunderbird in a clean condition (as it would have been if I had not imported the OE messages)? Or, it would be easier to delete all messages and folders from Thunderbird? I reinstall a clean one if possible.

Thanks for any help you can offer with this question.

Nothing in Outlook Express doesn't change, nothing. But remember, you don't have outlook express forever. It certainly doesn't work on your next computer.

  • When you try to copy messages from Outlook Express to Live Mail, all of the .dbx except folders.dbx files copy OK. My new PC cannot read the disc to import messages (probably because that folders.dbx is missing?)

I followed the contours of Ms. webesite steps to transfer my OE messages to my new LiveMail on my new PC. Instructions to mention to make sure that when you copy the message on a CD for transfer files to new PC that they must include the file "folders.dbx".  All my files message correctly copy except "folders.dbx".

I guess that's why the new PC says there are no messages on the CD to be imported from (although I see that all of the .dbx files).

Why is that I am having a problem copying "folders.dbx" and this is my problem in terms of imports?

Create a new identity in OE and import the messages. This new storage location to transfer it to WLMail. It will be all new dbx files so no corruption should be gone.

  • Import messages from Outlook Express to Windows Live Mail Inbox

I can't import my Inbox of Outlook Express to WIndows Live Mail.  I saved my OE Inbox to a file .csv to a flash drive.   I then copied the file from my desktop flash player.   I open Live Mail, import, Microsoft Outlook express and stressed the desktop icon of the file.   I get an error that no message is available.  What I am doing wrong?

Contacts can be saved on one. CSV, no messages file.
OE contacts are stored in a .wab file. You can import this (or a CSV file)
in WLM. Just open WLM, open Contacts, do a file-import-etc.

Your messages in OE are already stored in .dbx files. Copy all the .dbx
files on the XP computer in a temporary folder on the Windows 7 computer.
Be sure to include the folders.dbx file.

then open WLM and don't file - import - etc.

  • Unable to archive the imported messages of previous profile

During the installation of a new computer, I copied my old profile into a new installation of Thunderbird manually moving all mail from the old profile folder files to the new profile folder.

I found that I can't use the mail on any e-mail archiving functionality that was initially received under the old profile. The keyboard shortcut is not working, the button of archive is not displayed with the message and the menu option is disabled.

All messages received after that I have configure Thunderbird are able to archive correctly.

    I discovered the issue:

I was looking through the file of mailbox "Inbox", trying to find the differences between the messages that I could check in and what I couldn't.

I found a difference between some messages in their headers. The header "X-key account:" has the value "Account2" for messages that I could not archive and "account10" for the messages that I could check in.

I updated the messages with "Account2" to "account10" and open Thunderbird. I went to messages I couldn't previously archive and found that they can now be archived.

  • How can I import messages from Opera Mail to Thunderbird?

I use Mail as my electronic agent main Opera on Windows XP Pro SP3. Soon, I'll install Windows 7, but first I'm configuring Thunderbird. (I already use Firefox.) I > store 4500 emails in my Opera Mail, and I was not able to find a way to import them into TB. In Opera Mail, for each mailing list and label (view), I want to import into TB, I first exported each of the opera in a *.mbs file in one directory of Windows. Now, I have several *.mbs files, one for each mailing list, or a label. I want to import into folders separated from TB. How can I accomplish this? I have reflected on the pages of online Mozilla support and found nothing. Or I'll talk all wrong? Thank you.
