  Your description is a bit confusing.
  So here are my Tips how to connect the laptop for WiFi using the Vista operating system.

  According to your WiFi (Atheros or Intel) card I advise to use a WLan configuration as Atheros Client Utility or Intel ProSet Utility tool.

  You can use these tools to configure WLan. I use one of these tools and I can connect and configure the WiFi network very easily.

  If you want to use the Vista WLan own configuration options, can access the network locations and right click on the WiFi connection.
  Choose then rebuilt Waln connection or something like that.

  The error message is:

  I want to activate the lock, because I need to add new columns to this table.

  I was digging on several threads that have the same problem as mine. But none of them gives any acceptable solution.
