Impossible to activate Windows Firewall

I had the problem of malware for the last 2 days, and I tried everything this suggested (ie. installation of anti-malware from malwarebytes.org, run scans on a hourly basis, by turning on the automatic updates) and the problem seems to be growing.
Last night before going to bed, I started another full analysis. I noticed that the automatic updates is disabled, and firewall has been disabled. I was unable to activate updates, I read a forum on how to do this manually and it worked (they are always enabled). I made also firewall was carried out.
This morning I noticed the firewall was turned off again, I went into the Security Center so that she and is no longer an option to enable or disable. How can I turn on the firewall?

I keep getting warnings from XP Home Security saying I have 36 infected files, tracking software etc. However, I don't remember installing XP Home Security, which is a default program for XP?  I'm afraid to click on it.

What should I do?

Once installed, this rogue impersonates an update of security for Windows installed via automatic updates. It then installs as a single executable with a random name of 3 letters and configures itself to start, if not already started, each time that you start another executable file. It will also change certain Windows registry keys so that when you launch FireFox or Internet Explorer from the Start Menu of the window it will launch the rogue instead and show a false firewall warning.

  • Is impossible to activate Windows XP, computer locked up...

I tried all day removing personal information from my old computer before I give it to a friend. At the time when I thought that I had done, I decided to do an upgrade of the Windows XP operating system installation. I thought that I would be fixing any errors. Stupid me! I made the mistake that I can't seem to overcome. Now, the computer does not start until a complete departure. I get a window that says "Windows Product Activation: this copy of Windows must be activated with Microsoft you connect." You want to activate Windows now? "I answer by clicking Yes.

Then the screen turns green in background Windows XP and State does not change the count after that. It just seems to be locked up. I cut the power supply and start hoping that it will be somehow milraculously change States and work this time... but no! Same thing again and again. I can't place where I put in the product key code. How the hell do I? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm almost nuts right now... :(

  • Impossible to "Activate Windows" - link broken or damaged, only to see a blue window with 2 Gifs in the upper corners.

    Hello

I recently reinstalled XP Home after accident after the installation of SP3. I tried the clean install, no problems until the end of the 30-day activation period; to be honest didn't know that I needed too, but that's another story.

After management reset the counter of 30 days, finally reconnected to XP, went through the SP3 update process ok, reboot ok, then tried Windows Update - re not headed to activation options... no problem, I have all the original disks, here's the problem though.

I have to go through , then choose "Activate Windows" then...

pop-up windows opens, blue background with title bar gray where it says activate Windows, but there is no option menu on screen? all I get are two. In each upper corner gif images (tells usually unloaded image on a web page)... and that's it, nadda, nothing else rises.

I tried all the solutions on the Win Help pages (kb314935) and some other techy here guys (topics: Windows XP Home Activation window fails to run a repair... and the Article ID: 312295)

I tried all of the following commands in the order...

    Regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll
    Regsvr32.exe licdll.dll
    C:\Windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /A

I ran across the "fix" WPAEvents, which does not work either...

I rang the activation help desk United Kingdom who advised it wasn't their problem because I wasn't getting the option to activate by phone, so they gave me the number of the UK tech support... and of course they do not work beyond 18:00 or weekend (grrr) so I rang the support American number and after 10 minutes of blocking and accumulating of my phone bill they say "we support only from the USA and Canada, team support to try to the United Kingdom"... aaaaahhhhhhh

So what someone has any ideas that don't involve repair XP as I did this one to death.

    See you soon,.

I had this same problem. Tried to repair windows xp with a slipstream sp3 and still no success. I found solutions by creating a new fake profile that created a new record for this user, and the correct activation window came and was successfully able to activate it.

It is important to have * one * firewall (not necessarily windows
operation of the firewall). Although Windows Firewall is very good, some people
choose to use a third party firewall instead.

If your internet connection through a router, it should also be
provided by the router, so a software firewall type protection
    Firewall is not as critical.

Reading these threads, I noticed that many threads mentions a copy of Windows by computer - but I have 2 computers with the same copy of windows 7 on it. My understanding is that a copy of windows is associated with a single person, not every computer that person has, as long as its for personal and non-commercial use.

I don't remember exactly where I got this idea, it may have been the person who built the first time, my office about 4 years ago, but nevertheless I've always had a desktop and a laptop with the same copy of windows inside. I also experienced a few computers since I no longer use, but I still installed the same copy on the computer replacement without any problem.

    Hello

Operating system Windows licenses: license = one Installation.

    ________________________________

    And this rule also applies:

If the computer/laptop comes with the preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), or OEM System Builders license, this product key provided with your computer/laptop to the OEM license preinstalled and is not transferable.

The OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc. machines and OEM System Builders license) is related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when dies of this machine.

Only retail Operating System license that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.
