It is important to enable the windows firewall in my personal office. I am also connected to the internet. What happens if the firewall is not enabled?

It is important to have * one * firewall (not necessarily windows
operation of the firewall). Although Windows Firewall is very good, some people
choose to use a third party firewall instead.

If your internet connection through a router, it should also be
provided by the router, so a software firewall type protection
Firewall is not as critical.

  • Impossible to activate Windows Firewall

I had the problem of malware for the last 2 days, and I tried everything this suggested (ie. installation of anti-malware from malwarebytes.org, run scans on a hourly basis, by turning on the automatic updates) and the problem seems to be growing.
Last night before going to bed, I started another full analysis. I noticed that the automatic updates is disabled, and firewall has been disabled. I was unable to activate updates, I read a forum on how to do this manually and it worked (they are always enabled). I made also firewall was carried out.
This morning I noticed the firewall was turned off again, I went into the Security Center so that she and is no longer an option to enable or disable. How can I turn on the firewall?

I keep getting warnings from XP Home Security saying I have 36 infected files, tracking software etc. However, I don't remember installing XP Home Security, which is a default program for XP?  I'm afraid to click on it.

    What should I do?

Once installed, this rogue impersonates an update of security for Windows installed via automatic updates. It then installs as a single executable with a random name of 3 letters and configures itself to start, if not already started, each time that you start another executable file. It will also change certain Windows registry keys so that when you launch FireFox or Internet Explorer from the Start Menu of the window it will launch the rogue instead and show a false firewall warning.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
scrutiny and the withdrawal without ending up with a load of spyware programs running
resident who can cause as many questions as the malware and may be more difficult to detect as the
    cause.

No one program cannot be used to detect and remove any malware. Added that often easy
to detect malicious software often comes with a much harder to detect and remove the payload. Then
its best to be thorough than paying the high price later now too. Check with them to one
extreme overkill point and then run the cleaning only when you are sure that the system is clean.

  • Windows Firewall does not illuminate

    From: nsmartinez46

I just had this problem recently. When I start my computer, there is a pop up that says that the Windows Firewall is disabled. I click on the button to turn it on and then appears a screen that says "Security Center may depend on Windows Firewall." I then click "Activate Windows Firewall manually." Then he said that he does not use recommended settings to help protect my computer. I click "update settings now" but then he said he was unable to make the requested updates.

I'm using Windows Vista and I have had my computer for a year now. It happened the other day and I installed as my Symantec anti-virus program.

How can I activate Windows Firewall again?

    De :  Engel

    You can try this:

Right click on command prompt (start Menu\Programs\Accessories) and choose Run as administrator. Type (or copy and paste) the following command:

    WinMgmt /verifyrepository

If the system returns "referential WMI is not consistent", type this command:

    WinMgmt /salvagerepository

The first time you run this operation fails. (It will be matter of commands to stop services causing his failure, saying: "a shutdown command was sent to a service that depend on other services running on"). It may take a few minutes for the services to stop. Rerun the last command. You may in fact need to run 3 times before finally runs and ends on its own.
