"Impossible to connect to the internet to check updates" even if "Test Proxy" is successful.

I installed the driver to connect to SQL Server. I wanted to check the updates because it resembled an earlier version. However, I get the below error. (Note I can connect to the internet through the browser, etc.). What is mind someone give me advice on how to fix this? Thank you!

The current version (4.0.2.15.21) check the updates, even if it connects correctly, does not include third-party JDBC drivers in the center of update lists.  To do this, you are better off finding the jtds Web driver, then install it via

Tools > Preferences > Database > drivers third party JDBC > add entry...

Jtds - 1.3.0.jar, your version of SQL Developer to use point to Java 7 (jdk1.7.0_xx) or later. The jtds - 1.2.0.jar, the Certified version according to the Oracle documentation, work with Java 6 (jdk1.6.0_xx), but also works with Java 7 as far as I know.

Now, back to Check for Updates.  If the Proxy of Test passes, but Unable to Connect dialog box keeps popping up, it is probably due to the warning failed to refresh the list of update centers in the updates Wizard.  Maybe a server is down.  If you do not want to wait for the server to return to the top, just leave the could not connect dialog box and click the next button in the updates Wizard.  If nothing is available in the area of research centers was updated in step 1 of 4, you can try the following URL in your web browser, and then look for the bundle-url of the specific update you want to download, download, then use the option install file Local to install it:

Oracle SQL Developer: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/dbtools/usage/cfu

Oracle Extensions: http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/162031.xml

Third party SQL Developer Extensions: http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@otn/documents/webcontent/162033.xml

Kind regards

  • Photosmart 6525 will not connect to the internet to get updates day & ePrint. Test page shows connected. ??

Trying to install my photosmart 6525. It works wirelessly to my computer desktop & laptop but when I try to open ePrint it wants to check updates and reports that it cannot connect. That is what it is?

The wireless report Test results show all "TRANSMIT" and shows 'connected' to the internet.

I would first disconnect the router and the printer for about 1 minute. I would plug the router first then the printer. I would then try to enable web services. If not successful, then proceed as follows.

1 obtain the IP address of your printer
    a. This can be done by pressing the icon on the printer wireless.
    2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
    3. Select the tab network at the top of the page.

  • Unable to connect to the internet, can't update firmware

HP Envy 110a (D411a) printer all in one

Installed and set up, everything has gone well and works. Tested on Win XP, Vista, Win 7 64, Apple laptop, iPhone 4, all prints wireless or USB. Now for the problem: it works on my home network, but it does not connect to the internet. Some applications only will be running, or the update of the firmware. They all say that I must be connected to the internet to continue. However, I was able to install ePrint and go to the website of eprintcenter.com, add my printer and see the status. He said that everything was good. I had to do this by using the internet, but why my apps does not nor will not update the firmware? Is it possible to download the firmware and install it via USB? I have a computer repair company and have had many problems with HP wireless printers. I don't recommend any HP product to my clients. But I was impressed by the look and quality of envy, and HP felt could repent of their sins and finally build a quality product. The property is everything printing wireless with little effort works. The bad is picky about the internet. Anyone have any ideas?

    GOOD NEWS!

I apologize to HP. Yes, they repented of their past sins! The 110 is a great printer. I love the size, color and weight (heavy) of the printer. It seems very professional. The style looks more professional than any printer I've seen to date. All executives would like this printer. All the features now work as advertising. How do I solve this problem? I went from a Netgear router gigabit to a D-Link gigabit router. And then reconnected the radio wireless to the new network. Then he just started to work. I know that the Netgear is always a good router, but something deep in the default settings must have caused the HP does not to work.

I don't work for HP, nor do I own their stock. I highly recommend this printer for serious users.

  • I use windows XP service pack 3 and I can't connect to the internet on your laptop even if I can connect using my other devices.

I have tried everything I can think of nothing doesn't. The strange thing is that it connects as usual and I can even use Skype and download updates, but I can't surf the net. I can't understand. I have tried ipconfig release and then renew, repairs of stack TCP/IP, Winsock reset and the use of different browsers. I ran the XP connection troubleshooting tool and received the following message, that this is probably caused by your firewall settings

"check the settings of the firewall for the HTTP port (80), HTTPS (443) AND ftp PORT (21) port.

The problem is that I can't change my firewall settings that I can not start the firewall and get this error message every time I try

Cannot start the service Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on the Local computer.
Error 0 x 80004015: the class is configured to run as a different caller's security id

I downloaded the hotfix from microsoft, but it made no difference unfortunately.

I use AVG 2011 antivirus protection. I tried connecting via the wireless and wired. I did ipconfig and tried to rattle of my other devices and my router and everything seems normal because they can communicate with each other. See below.
