• Cannot delete alias if the referenced object does not exist

  My JavaScript does not alias in OSX when the referenced object no longer exists. The bug occurs on a network volume when the referenced object has been deleted or moved from another system.   Hmm. I have no problem removing broken aliases created in the Finder, but am not able to delete the symlinks broken on remote filesystems created with ln -s (or withile.createAlias ()f). Seems to be a bug for me, as the broken symbolic link can be deleted otherwise (in the Finder or with rm ). I guess you can use doScript() and an Applescript script:

  app.doScript('tell application "Finder" to delete POSIX file "' + myShortcut.fsName + '"', ScriptLanguage.APPLESCRIPT_LANGUAGE);
  

  Slow, however. You can use a 'do shell script' Applescript with rm but the multiple levels of bids and escape are a puzzle.

• How can I find my photos in Aperture in the Finder (for Macs)?

  I have a full 8 photos Aperture GIGANTIC library. I have separated/cloisonne each year, except the last one in the library, 2014. I tried export library to a new library of many, many times only to have opening crash when I try to do. I am certain that it is because the new library would be great (I have a lot of pictures in the folder 2014) that he won't let me do.

  That said, I need a workaround solution. My first thought was to copy all photos by project, in folders in the Finder (I have an iMac) and just create a new library with these photos. While it worked, it would take me forever! So, there must be a better way to create this new library. Here are my ideas:

  1. I believe that there is a way you can find photos that are in the open in the Finder. I know, I know, it is not suggested for this. That's the problem since I signed for Lightroom because Apple did away with opening, so I don't care if my current database of opening it messes up. I have the Grand opening saved in two places, anyway.

  Can someone out there tell me how to find these photos? I right click on them and there is no option for ' info, or even to show the contents of the package. "

  The size of the exported library shouldn't matter, unless you are running out of storage.  I exported a partial library with 100000 photos without problem.

  What version of Aperture do you use? If it is opening 9.4.5 or an older version, disconnect from the Internet when you are working with Aperture. Older versions are currently crashing, if they can't access Google map servers.

  To see your photos imported from 2014 in the Finder, select your Aperture library, ctrl + click, and then select "Show Package Contents".

  This issue may occur because of corrupted inbox in Outlook express.

  Perform the following troubleshooting steps and check if this solves the problem.

  Step 1:

  Create a new folder and move all mail from your Inbox to the new folder in Outlook Express.

  Follow these steps:

  a. click on the file menu.

  b. Select the folder and select new.

  c. give an appropriate name for the folder.

  d. Select all mails in the inbox and move to a different folder.

  e. move mail to the new folder.

  Step 2:

  I suggest to delete the Inbox.dbx file in your computer.

  In Windows XP Outlook Express files user (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under Start, Control Panel, Folder Options and view.

  Follow the steps to delete the Inbox.dbx file.

  a. close Outlook Express.

  I tried to delete/clear with the built-in library, this is the way that fails. It's strange, I can rename and replace the files, but I'm not able to get rid of them. I even installed Xmarks. When I remove the Xmarks, desappears file folder, but only in Xmarks, even after syncing with Xmarks.

  Have you tried to delete the places.sqlite* files in case there is a problem?

  The file must have 2265 bookmarks, including folders and separators.
