Edit: Some say that the text does not change even if unlock you the bootloader. Here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24540749&postcount=17
You can try to use the TrackID which is preinstalled on your phone, not the game store.
You can also try using the fastboot mode to see if the Bootloader is unlocked. -
Difference between status engineering bootloader and unlocked
I hope I am posting this in the right place, but we have several users on XDA with motorcycle G 2015 and Pure/Style motorcycle X devices which have received their official return of bike repair with a status of the engineering bootloader.
A few Google searches seems to infer that this status of bootloader is a notch above unlocked (being less restrictive, more unlocked) but in real use, these devices seem to suffer from the possibility to be flashed with some Roma or almonds which work very well on a device identical to 'ordinary' unlocked bootloader, but fail the boot, bootloop, or error on these devices to the State of engineering... Much tested, reliable and stable ROMS and kernels seem to fail on these engineering devices, even if it seems to Flash fine users become bootloop and other issues and we discarded error of the user or incorrect procedures.
These devices also seem to be in a State where they cannot be locked again or changed to State normal booloader unlocked.
I wonder if someone with more knowledge on this subject could explain, in detail, the differences between engineering and unlocked the bootloader situation in these devices.
Thank you.
Phones must be shows not genius. If you return a phone in this way, it was not flashed properly and must be reflashed - call customer service and make arrangements for it reflashed.

Which versions or varients of the new Moto G (2014) will get the bootloader unlock?
Bootloader is unlockable on all Moto G 2nd GEN unless a service provider requests otherwise.

Motorola said that the bootloader is unlocked for the GSM version, according to the carrier. I am of the India and the handset is NOT a carrier brand. Why the bootloader is still blocked? I tried to run a fastboot oem unlock and it returned a negative.
Allow me to quote Motorola Europe Facebook, published 29/12 (in the comments):
«the team continues to work through plans on a version of unlock for Europe and hope to have details in the next week or so now when which could actually reach the market.» That of all we have for now but looks like details may be coming. »

Confusion on the bootloader and root Xperia Ray
Hi.Im using Xperia Ray with ICS 4.0.4
But I have a few questions that I got confused1. What is the difference between the root and the locked bootloader?
2. How do I know if the bootloader of my phone is locked or unlocked?3. If I want to overclock my phone or the Flash custom rom, am I just that root my phone or I need to unlock my bootloader as well?
Thank you!
(1) the bootloader is a small piece of code that is used to load an operating system
While
Root is the access to the base of the system files. It is a procedure that grants you admin/root on our mobile access.
After rooting, you can change any file inside your operating system
To protect the Android operating system against corruption, it is read-only, but after rooting, it becomes writable as well
(2) (2) connecter connect to companion pc, then try to update
If the pc companion shows that the software is average updated the bootloader is unlocked
Even stock track ID stop after the unlocking of the boot
(3) to flash rom custom, you must unlock the trunk, but just to overclock, you could do with the root so
Although custom cores are best suited for overclocking

It seems that Toshiba have locked the bootloader on this machine that makes it impossible for the guru to create a root for this tablet.
It is extremely annoying. I have a lot of tablets, and I've all rooted.
WHY do they want to root. ?
Simple, I play shooting games on my tablets Tegra 3 and I want to use my PS3 wireless controller. But to be able to use the PS3 wireless controller, you must install the driver of "Six Axis Controller". But this driver requires Root access.
This tablet is great with 13.3-inch screen. The new Tegra 3 Shooter games are fantastic on this 13.3-inch screen.
But we need wireless PS3 controller to be able to play them well.
I hope Toshiba will get a bootloader Asus unlocker did likewise.
If Toshiba is unwilling to allow the root of the device then how about an update that includes the "axis controller Six" built.
This is a great games machine. But being not not be able to use the wireless PS3 controller it kills...

Yes, the bootloader is locked and so far the series AT300 and AT330 cannot be rooted

Xperia Z2 does not, logo of Sony loops and restart and PPC gave me error 2003
Hi, I have a problem with my Xperia Z2. I tried to install Lollipop with Flashtool and after the installation, the phone fits in logo and restarts.
When I tried to fix it with Sony PC Companion, after downloading the software, an error "sony update of engine failure (error 2003)" (the device has changed software and can not be updated)The bootloader is unlocked and installed CWM, but I can't access in MCG.
What can I do?
Thank you!
You will not be able to use the CCP nor bridge until relock you the bootloader. You can once again flash bin.

Hi guys, just curious, if I root my XZU jellybean.510 will still be able to do an OTA update vers.757 kitkat via the center of update sony? do not laugh at my question, I anchored the last phone was my xperia arc s a few years ago, I anchored on gingerbread and never ever taken the trouble to check if I could update ICS from there on.
Thanks in advanceYou can not root.757 unless your bootloader in unlocked - if it is locked and you want to sort, then you need to get off a.534 then root and install a recovery - then from the link above through flash le.757 flash recovery then the last part of la.757 through flashtools - this will keep you rooted with a bootloader locked as mine is currently

I've owned 3 Motorola phones so far. My current phone is RAZR M. I am looking to buy a new phone but I need a unlocked bootloader. Can buy the phone unlocked? If this isn't the case - this only unlocked Motorola phones can be purchased? Cost no object. But - I prefer the smaller screens.
I need root, and if I can't get the root I'm not interested.
Thanks in advance.
Exclusive Verizon phones don't usually have a unlockable bootloader. The only exceptions in several years were the Developer editions, which we currently produce not. Droid 2 Turbo is not unlock.
