  I bought photoshop cs3 earlier. Upgrade to a better computer and bought Illustrator CS4. I've installed illustrator CS4 BEFORE installing Photoshop CS3 on the new machine.  When I went to install PS CS3, he asked the IllCS4 disk. I put in there and nothing.   Please check, if you really deleted applications Adobe (including Adobe Reader etc) and the caps.db is deleted. It can be found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps. It records everything installs / uninstalls, so if it #s still here, he would still have information about previous CS4 stuff that could adversely affect obtaining CS3 on the system.

  You will use the copied Driverstore and C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRVSTORE for is the source of the drivers when you then. Do not replace the folder in the new installation of Windows with the folder that you copied from the initial installation of Windows. It would not be a good idea.

  Once you have done the copy of the file and have it practice you can simply put the installation DVD into the DVD drive and boot from it. There will be a point where asks you if you want to save your previous installation. Say no to it.

  At this stage you can always do a defined recovery disk. I recommend that you do this. This is the copy of the operating system and drivers you purcased your PC with. If you do not want is not a problem like UO can always buy it at HP over the next years.

  Please read these instructions carefully and completely before you begin installing Windows 7: there are important steps that you must follow to upgrade your PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 in order to preserve your files and settings.
