Impossible to mistake panic Kernel MOUNT after reboot ESX host...

I built three ESX host without problem and then I rebooted one of them and got the following error: any ideas?

Unable to mount: Kernel Panic: VFS: unable to mount root FS 00:00

kernel 0xC0100000, data 0xc038d00 s .bss 0xc0443380

the other two hosts works fine?

is perhaps a controller failure: could you try to reinstall ESX default to do so and see if he do the same?

If you are sure that this is not a breaking test HW following this link http://vikashkumarroy.blogspot.com/2008/09/how-to-fix-unable-to-mount-root-fs.html

Hi, I have a 4.0 Esx that whenever I turn on or reboot after you start loading the files it display the classic to manage via the web or ALT + F1 screen to manage via linux cli.

The ESX host is answered by another pc on the local network, but I can not connect my Vsphere client for about 10 minutes.

After this time, finally, I can connect with Vsphere client.

    You have any ideas?

    Thank you

  • drive external hard crash panic kernel freeze and reboot

Hi, I write because I just had a problem with my external hard drive.

I have connected to my macbook pro to my external drive (raid 2 disc 0, 3 to, usb 3.0, western Digital, it appears as if it were 1 disk 3.5 "). I used this drive yesterday and several other times without any problem. I don't know why all of a sudden I saw the message on the upper right of the screen with the alert ' you incorrectly disconnected the disk XX "(is a kind of translation bc my os is in Italian) and after that the screen and the pointer of the mouse (with the ball of the Rainbow) stopped as if it were freezing. After a few seconds, black screen and the system rebooted! That's happened?

I tried again, this time with another external drive, samsung 1 TB usb 3.0. After only a few minutes it was connected... the same thing. Message on the upper right corner, gel, black screen, restart... Below you can see the log of 2 crash.

That's happened? HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

  • Weird error in Console after reboot ESX 4.1

I received the following in a box of ESX 4.1 recently restarted error message.

To interact with the configuration file /etc/vmware/esx.conf error: could not try to lock
file.  Another process has locked the file for more than 20 seconds.  The treatment
now the lock is/usr/sbin/esxcfg-nas (2999).  This operation will end if it is
Run again after the lock is released.

Then, after seeing this twice on the console, I got the following error:

option with the name of that cimenabled already exists

    If I look at this process, it is: "/ usr/sbin/esxcfg-nas - b»  I don't know what about the - b option.

The server is offline.  If I kill this process esxcfg-nas, nothing happens, but I really didn't expect it would be.

This isn't something I've met before.

    Someone saw something like that?

    Thank you

    Ted

Looks like that to me, the host strives to back up storage on boot up and unable to reach the NFS server.  I'm curious, but why remove the vmnic0 would correct this problem.  It is possible that if the vSwitch balancing policy has not been defined route based on IP Hash and you had two uplinks that are connected to the same vSwitch, that communication between the host and the NFS server was interrupted during the mount operation.  By deleting the uplinks all traffic was forced to land a single connection.  Have you tried to restore the vmnic0 to configuration at this point?

  • Port gets mode error on Cisco catalyst 3020 after the reboot ESX host

    Hi all!

I know that this may be the right forum for this questin, nut I m hoping someone can give men a response. Since I m a newbe for switches I use the assistants of Cisco network and Cisco will help me to access the SAN switches.

As I said in the topic ports gets error on switch mode, most of the time I restart the host. I have to disable and then enable port it to rise again. Also, I get this message in the switch:

This port has been disabled because the link turned out be fluctuating between high and low States quickly.

Reason could be bad physical connector hardware or drivers on the device of the OSH connection switch port is faulty.

Recommendation: Replace physical connector or upgrade the drivers on the switch port or try to replace the cable and re-enable the port.

Is some setting that I can change the switch to make this disappear? All commands in telnet againt the switch?

    Maybe that's your problem:

  • Creating a menu in Powershell after collecting ESX host names

    Hello

    I give up .

I found this script which offers a menu in Powershell (no popups). I enjoy my guests, then perform the functions.

At the end of the script after I chose the pair I want to, I'm trying to find/set a variable so that I can then use the host name for my next order.

  • You can restart nfs storage WITHOUT having to reboot ESX host?

    Hi community

I wanted to know what your experience has been reset to the nfs storage devices WITHOUT having to restart the ESX servers. I can stop the virtual machines that use the storage, but would like to avoid off ESX hosts as they require a visit to the data center for put in operation and I can do all the rest of the House.

My options are either then restart the ESX host (that I can do it remotely of course) or the ESX Server restores in the nfs storage when it is up?

This is the first time such a restart will be required so I use

this as a learning experience and the VMs on those ESX hosts are not

criticism.  (although don't tell users which.) )

    Thanks in advance

    Yes, of course you can.

ESXes automatically reverts to the storage.

  • Automatic deployment: vMotion turning off after reboot

    Details of the environment:

    vCenter 5.5 build 1750787

    Image: ESXiu2 build 2068190

With the help of vSwitches standard

    vSwitch0 - contains exchanges VM

    vSwitch1 - contains 2 ports vMotion

    vSwitch2 - contains 1 management port

(I know, it's silly, but it was done this way to conform to virtualization as a platform of services)

It is all set up in the profile of the host and after reboot, it shows 'host unenforceable contract... '. «and «rendering of the services not enabled...» "- I found the following link: http://www.core-four.info/2014/03/vmotion-not-getting-enabled-on-vmkernel.html but we do not use network coredump so this workaround is a no-go.

I wanted to add the solution. I looked through the logs of boot and discovered that he had a conflict with some of the parameters when starting. In particular the IPv6 settings were great capricious and caused a kernel panic (sort of) which caused the ESXi host to cease to apply the profile.

  • RN204 not reconnect the USB in the port back after reboot.

I don't know if that's a problem, but my new RN204 unit will not see my USB stick after reboot. Key, I inserted into the lower back USBport. Port superior return I got UPS. Inverter is connected ok after reboot.

If the USB is in front of USB port, unit connects OK after reboot. Rear ports, I have to go out and re - insert USB stick after every reboot. Key is detected and mounted after rehabilitation only. (connected external storage device.)

USB drive is Kingston USB 3.0 and my RN104 unit detects that it restarts after all in backport more or less right. (after a reboot it tell me automatically (connected external storage device.))

    FW on the two unit (RN204, RN104) is 6.4.1 - T35, tested on 6.4.0 and 6.4.1 beta 1-2 - all the same.

    Hi all

After you install the new version of FW 6.4.2 (Final, published today), everything looks OK. My RN204 unit reconnect all the USB key, that I tested.

Everything is OK, the Bug disappeared. I think that FW 6.4.2 is the solution to the issue being reported.

    Thanks Netgear.

Kindly guide me with this. Thank you!

    It is:

    Caused by: weblogic.management.provider.EditFailedException:

A likely reason may be a few changes in the config.xml file. If you have a previous backup of the config.xml file, then try to replace the config.xml file, and then restart the server.
Another reason for this exception maybe it were completely a few changes to the configuration through the administration Console that were not activated and the server administrator has been restarted. According to this scenario, weblogic will create a dir /pendig and have a config.xml file is created with the changes unchecked.

a solution of workaround that you can try to restore the management server:

    Under domain dir.
\pending directory - take backup and delete the directory.

    Under Dir Admin Server:
data\store - take backup and delete the directory.

    Thank you

  • El Capitan keyboard does not not after reboot

I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch with OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

After one of the recent improvements, I met a problem, if I take my mac, the keyboard and the trackpad to respond enough lag (if I constantly try to move the cursor, he'll have a time and then for like half an hour it will completely stop responding and after this the other repeats). It only happens after reboot and only on the login screen. So if I put my mac to sleep and then wake up, everything will work perfectly. Same thing if I managed somehow to connect, once the keyboard and trackpad respond correctly. The only button that works fine after reboot is the power button, but it doesn't help much, because it charges does not solve the problem somehow: as soon as the user selection screen, keyboard and mouse stops responding again (or should I say "start answering from time to time").

I saw lots of questions here on the keyboard does not not after waking up, but as you can see, this isn't my situation.

    Try again in Safe Mode.

Start up all by holding down the SHIFT key. It takes five minutes longer because it is a disk first aid on the way up, and you MUST provide your user name and password, even if you normally the automatic connection.

  • Not ready external hard drives after reboot

You have a weird question, or perhaps I should say one on that I can't find something. I've dealt with it for years and finally had enough of it. Rarely, I restart my Mac, do not need, is not something that happens often. But on the question.

I have an iMac of 2015, internal SSD, or merge, I suppose, and a couple of external hard drives attached. Both are 4TB readers, by USB (for backups) and FireWire (for data, applications, iTunes library, photos, etc.). Both work perfectly during normal use.

The question is when I reboot. My hunch is that these external drives are not fill their mental health checks / faster the drive internal system files, and when the OS is logged in, all the stuff on my external drives (in this case, my iTunes library) is not found. Of course, everything I do is point iTunes to the external drive and everything is fine (well, that and tell him where to find my wallpaper because it doesn't by default mountain landscape photo!).

So I'm wondering - is there a way to delay the start of the BONE or the final control until external drives are online? Not a huge problem, but why not. I'm tired of fixing stuff when I reboot. Or else, is something to not configured right and the cause? Hmm.

    What do you say?

Try to connect the external disk after reboot completed if he could climb.

  • Can't use Firefox once after reboot my Mac, then he won't.

After reboot or a total, followed by the setting stop running, I get use of Firefox. Once I close out of it, I can't hire back in.
I checked and updated Firefox, no help. I am currently running Yosemite on my Mac.

I tried a Force Quit on Firefox. Notice that the small point under the Firefox icon is missing. So, I then clicked on the Firefox icon and it has jumped up and down. Alto! I can now engage Firefox without having to restart my computer. So does that mean Firefox did not leave on its own? And why all of a sudden start. Inquiring minds. If with that I seem to be OK once more. How weird.

  • My computer crashed and after reboot, I lost all my saved passwords. How can I recover it?

I was looking on a saved password when suddenly my computer crashed and restarted. After reboot I couldn't see the saved passwords.
As a test, I saved a password and this password is displayed in the list of saved passwords, but all the others are still missing.
How can I retrieve my saved passwords?

    Thank you!

If the file has no valid data then you may not use this file.

You can try if there is an earlier copy of the logins.json file.

  • Have been left in charge all night I get the message "after reboot requires the password" question is why is this automatic restart, and is this normal

Have been left in charge all night I get the message "after reboot requires the password" question is why is this automatic restart, and is this normal

Occasionally, it may restart because something was wrong. It is not a problem unless this happens frequently.
