  The correct sequence is:

  1. download the patch
  2 extract the hotfix to a folder "patch" (directory). Always create a separate patch for each patch folder.
  3. shutdown the database and all database services (database, listener, DBConsole etc.)
  4. apply the patch to update binary files. On Windows, this would mean running "" SETUP. "" EXE"in the folder"patch. "
  5. the NEXT step is to upgrade the database. Use DBUA or SQL scripts that are documented in the README file in the patch.
  6. Subsequently, apply the latest Patch of CPU / current

  Can someone provide me with a way to upgrade from ESX 4.0 update 2 to 4.0 update 3? I found that I can't do this by Vsphere update manager.   You cannot use the ISO file to upgrade an ESX 4.0 host existing. This is only supported for ESX 3.5 Update 5 guests. Please, take a look at for example http://www.vmware.com/support/vsphere4/doc/vsp_esx40_u3_rel_notes.html (supported Upgrade paths to upgrade ESX 4.0 Update 3 host) to find out what options are available.

The screen turns white for about a second, then it shows some horizontal lines, and it goes back to normal. And after a few seconds, he begins anew.   Figured out. Change refresh rate of 60 Hz 40 Hz p p and it solved the problem.

  BTW, HP helpdesk is completely useless... He does not call them – at least their 'free' in India support is completely incompetent.
