  I have several old data drives that contain important documents, but they are in format Readme.WRI.  I checked the file associations in Windows 7, so that I can associate the file type with a program, but Readme.WRI is not on the list of file extensions.
  Is there a way to open these files in Windows 7?  Is there a low-cost program (shareware)? to download to be able to view these files?  Most of the research "Readme.WRI" I did take me to advertise for "scanning" products... not file readers.

• Cannot change 'Open with' binding for webloc files

  Since Friday, I can't change the bindings from the webloc files. It was (by default) Firefox, now it's "Simulator (Watch) .app" as shown below:

  All the webloc files I checked read permissions in writing for me and read permission for the rest. This problem occurs with the former "webloc" links as well as newly created (as in the example above).   I had a program and I had to choose which I use to open it and my error, I chose wordpad
  but now he does with everything even though my pc is turned on some open thing in wordpad.

  What is the executables or desktop shortcuts? In other words, if you go to the executable it will always open with wordpad or it opens correctly?

  There is a difference, but the same solutions might work.

  (1) try creating a new account and see if it works correctly then. If so, you can just transfer everything through and delete the old.

  2) fix with regedit:

  1. click on Start Menu, type regedit in start search and press ENTER. Right click on regedit search results and run it as an administrator.

  2. navigate to the following registry branch:

  NtVersion ntVersion\Explorer\FileExts\ [ext]

  Replace the [ext] with the real extension of the file you want to restore the file type association to return to the original default Windows 7 (probably .lnk or .exe). If you unsure, simply browse through all the Sub-touche under FileExts.

  3. delete the subkey named UserChoice.

  4. exit the registry editor.

• I don't have any option 'Open with' for downloads

  I click on a file in a Web site to open it, but the box pop up no not the option "open with...". ", only the save option. The file type is a text document with the extension ".prg" associated with in my Windows Folder Options to open with Wordpad. Breast of Firefox Tools/Options/Applications, this file type does not appear, so I can't change it. I've read elsewhere where it is blamed on the MIME type in the HTML header, but Microsoft Internet Explorer gets it right every time, only Firefox does not recognize the file type.

  We have BSO cubes that are huge and when I expoted data in files, it generated ABC.txt, ABC_1.txt, ABC_2.txt, like this.

  I can load the individual files using EAS data loading? If so, ABC_2.txt then ABC_1.txt and finally an ABC.txt would be the loading sequence back?

  As Essbase is written this block by block, each block will have its complete info if it is done as a single export or parallel export. You can easily prove this (and I have) If you export a database and load only files 2 or 3, it loads without error. don't forget that you load a file rules, the load fails when the first error. There is no error found, so a value of a complete block of information must be present. Also open export (large files can be opened with wordpad) and you will see a complete info for block exery
