Impossible to re - set my resolution

Without apparent reason, this morning my deflected screen black and jumped and then turn it back on and all the fonts and icons are larger. I tried to reset by using the sliding bar to reset the resolution but the cursor can not drag and it jumps just to one of 4 different settings.  Help!

Hello

Tell us if you have a laptop or a desktop computer and monitor.

If a desktop computer and monitor, should be a button automatic reset on the monitor > use and see if that fixes it.

If that fixed it, go to the website of your computer or the manufacturer of the laptop > drivers download Section > then key in your computer or laptop model number > find your operating system > find two graphics / video or from the Chipset drivers and download and install.

If you have purchased and installed your own graphics card > access the graphics card manufacturer's Web site > find, download and install the appropriate drivers for your operating system and graphics card model number.

Then try to change the screen resolution.

Or do a system restore to before that the problem began:

  • Tecra A4: Cannot set the resolution of 1280 x 800

    Hi all.

I have a Tecra A4, and for the last 2 days I am trying set up the screen at native resolution of 1280 x 800, without sucssess.

I try a lot of things, like updating drivers, use the restoration of the system, the value 'stretch' in the BIOS, etc, but this resolution do not appear on the display settings (I use XP SP2). I've only 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768.

In any of these resolutions, a wide black border appear to the right of the screen. A small border appears on the bottom, too.

Please, how can I solve this problem? I don't want to use the Toshiba restore, some programs I use are very difficult to find and install.

    Thank you.

You cannot set this resolution if this resolution of 1280 x 800 is not part of the display driver.

  • Satellite L505 - 14 d - Starcraft II - cannot set the resolution of 1366 x 768

I recently bought this laptop, it has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5165 HyperMemory graphics card, however, when I installed the game Starcraft II, and tried to change my graphics settings, told me that my video (could say graph, or display card, I do not remember) card was not recognized, and that I might want to check this... I thought, well, that there is probably no problem, as long as everything works fine, but the problem is this; This isn't. I'm unable to set the resolution of 1366 x 768, which is the maximum resolution of the computer normally. The maximum resolution that I can put in this game is 1280 x 768...

This starts to become quite annoying, not a HUGE issue by any means, but still, I would like to get this issue resolved. ;)

My apologies if you have problems to understand what I mean here, that English isn't my mother tongue. Do not hesitate to ask me if you need clarification on anything whatsoever.

Are you able to set the resolution of 1366 x 768 laptop s display settings?

If Yes, then I guess that this has nothing to do with the laptop but with the game settings.
Maybe the game is unable to use a higher resolution because of the pilot or the graphics card compatibility.

I played a lot of games in the past on my laptop and to be honest game display settings have nothing to do with the general display resolution settings. My laptop resolution is 1400 x 1050, but the different games are available at 1024 x 768 due to the better performance

  • How to set the resolution to a VI (NOR-IMAQdx)?

    Hello.

I can set the resolution very well with the video Mode able & Automation Explorer, but I will in my VI as well.

I found the property node named 'vidéo Mode' and the problem is that I don't really know, what I have to write in it? I want to reduce my resolution to

    160 x 120

    Thanks in advance

When I run the VI list of video Modes, it shows me 0(160x120), 1(320x240)... If you run that first of all, it should show you. You could also count what position it is in the list of Max (start at 0). I'd stabbed to 0.

  • I just had a new hard drive installed (with XP), and no matter where I set the resolution, everything seems to be stretched horizontally

I just had a new hard drive installed with XP, and no matter what I set the resolution to, everything now looks stretched horizontally.  I don't have this problem with the old hard drive containing XP

If you did a clean installation of XP, then you must install the hardware drivers for your components. Go to the website of the manufacturer of your PC, then download and install the latest Windows XP drivers for your model.

  • How to set the resolution on in my XP operating system installation.

I have a computer that had a copy pirated XP, I bought a genuine copy of XP for the computer I built, however, I was unaware that I could use it only for a computer, and I tried to install it on the computer with the pirated XP operating system.  Then, I was unable to adapt to the resolution on the computer that has the OS piriated.  I then bought another windows XP OS, installed on the computer including the resolution and nine I couldn't settle, (who had the OS piriated), however, I still have the same problem of not being able to set the resolution from 600x400dpi. My attempt to use the first copy of XP on my second computer was planting a virus on it?  What should I do to solve the problem?

After doing a clean install of the operating system, you must then install the drivers for all your hardware. In your case, install the video card drivers will allow you to change the resolution.

Never get the drivers from Windows Update. Bring:

    1. site of the device mftr. ; OR
    2. site of the card mother mftr. If the material is on board; OR
    3. website of the OEM manufacturer for your specific machine if you have a PC OEM (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the Web site where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

    1. read all documentation that you got when you purchased the computer.
    2. If the computer is OEM, access the site Web of the OEM for your specific model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
    3. download, install and run a program of inventory of the free system like Belarc Advisor or System Information for Windows.

  • Portege R700-S1321 - cannot set the resolution of 1366 x 768

I have exactly the same problem, as shown in:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=64809

The resolution of the laptop to random times and intervals seems to support a maximum of 1280 x 700, which translates into a 2 inch black bar on the right side and the button start Windows 7 off the screen.

Currently its stuck in the resolution of the screen and no matter what I may not make it back to normal 1366 x 768.

External monitors very well with the laptop work.

Its 2.20 BIOS execution that seems to me later.

It seems that the intel driver must get some information that is incorrect.
Research on different forums and using moninfo, I see that the internal display does not support EDID and settings appear to be set by the registry somehow.

I also tried to make an EDID override by creating an inf file that is customized with Moninfo, but appears not to the question of the effect.

I also tried to restore from the recovery many times discs without success.
During the installation of windows occurs, the screen is fine.
When Toshiba additional programs are added to the screen returns to the 1280 x 700.
I suspect that what happens when the graphics driver intel is installed.

If I boot the laptop in safe mode resolution is 1366 x 768, which seems to suggest that it is the driver who has a problem.

Anyone else had this issue and understand how to fix it? I see also that intel do not support EDID override.

Any idea is appreciated. Thank you.

    > If I boot the laptop in safe mode resolution is 1366 x 768, which seems to suggest that it is the driver who has a problem.

I think you are on the right track, and I think that his untimely pilot.
That's why I recommend you to uninstall the Intel graphics driver in Device Manager.

PORTEGE R700-S1321 was equipped with the Intel® Core i5 - 520 M processor and this processor supports the Intel® HD graphics card

The latest Intel HD driver can be downloaded directly from the page of Intel:
    [Driver for Intel Core with Intel HD Graphics processors | https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics& ProductLine = graphic + portable + pilots & ProductProduct = Intel % C2% AE + Core E2% 84% A2 + processors + with + Intel % 2 C % AE + HD + Graphics & ProdId = 3231 & LineId 1101 = & FamilyId = 39]

I need to download the zip package.
Then you can install the driver through Device Manager by using the Advanced installation procedure. This allows you to link directly to this zip package. Windows system would automatically take the driver. After restarting again you that would have settled the last drivers and you should change your resolution.

  • Unable to set the resolution of the screen for an external monitor

I'm trying to set up an external monitor to Asus to mirror my iMac 27 "new using a HDMI > Lightening connection, but using the monitor preferences, requires both screens at the same resolution. The Asus monitor is smaller, I'm looking for mirror to a proper resolution to the screen (that I can actually read!). From what I gleaned on the web until now, so it should be easy - and now I think it has to do with the HDMI connection on the monitor. Any advice would be much appreciated!

The version of the video driver is v6.4823 - 104.22_2. BIOS, common module, Toshiba screen device Cahange the Toshiba Hotkey utility for display were all updated to the latest version.

I used Fn + F5 combination to switch between display modes: Simoutaneous, external monitor only. This has not fixed the problem.

    Someone has an idea?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Hello

The preferred resolution is not available on the external screen because the display driver that is installed on the laptop does not support!
The external monitor is able to manage the 1280 x 1024, but if this resolution is not listed in the display driver, then you will not be able to choose!

  • Satellite L750D - impossible to obtain an appropriate resolution

    Hello

I bought my laptop L750D only today in Australia and I had to remove the window 7 that has been implemented on this computer first, and I've set up window 7 ultimate in Korean earlier. (because it's a little difficult for me using computer in English).

So after I installed Windows 7 and I tried to install the drivers for this laptop but the problem is I can not the appropriate resolution.
I got most of the drivers works properly except display. and the device controller is to say that my computer is using "standard graphic VGA driver" and even if I change the resolution to 1024 x 768, it will really weired.

I downloaded AMD display driver, and when it is done with extraction no establishment that happened so I thought that maybe it was set up and finished.
But even if I restart my computer again and again the view is always the same and I can not find the solution for this.
(and I also tried to download the driver from the website of ATI, but somehow when I tried to install it, he said that the version is not provided or something like that... so he really helped me)

This is the Australian toshiba site here:

Have you received an error during the installation of the graphics card?
I recommend removing the graphics card in Device Manager.
This means that you must go to the device, select the chart remove controller and press.
Then restart the laptop and after that windows should automatically request a driver. Then, you can run the exe in the graphics driver package that you downloaded from the Toshiba driver page

PS; Please ensure you are using the correct driver for the right system. If you have installed Win 764 bit looking for the 64-bit system driver.
If you use 32 bit OS, choose the driver for this version of the OS.

    Check it!

It is best to set the maximum screen resolution before attempting to adjust the size of icons and text on the desktop, notification area, Quick Launch bar and start menu? I know that the icons can be made to the largest and by choosing a lower screen resolution but y at - it a benefit to have the maximum resolution? My view is not too good and I need icons and text to be big enough.

    Hello

The screen, or the screen resolution, resolution refers to the size of the whole image displayed on your computer screen. Specifically, he refers the number of picture elements, or pixels, which are displayed at the same time. A pixel is the smallest element on your computer screen, the more pixels, the more detailed the picture will be. With fewer pixels, display items will be larger, but there will be less space on the desktop for windows and the programs to run.

I reinstalled the monitor and display without success card drivers.  Can someone advice how to set the correct display for my LCD monitor resolution settings?

    Carlos

    Hello carlosir,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum.

The screen resolution is determined by the driver and the software configuration that is installed on your computer. If you are having problems with the driver, you can try to start safe mode and try to install the driver of this mode. The reason for this is to get the operating system to load the default generic display driver and then install the one you want. Be sure to remove all other drivers that were left on the system after installing the new.

Let us know if that helps.
