Open Control Panel > programs and features. Now click the installed updates link in the left frame. Is this a list of installed updates show?

If it doesn't then you fact not do a new install of Win 7, which means that you do not reformat the hard drive and installed all updates have been preserved.

If there is no list of the updates installed then suggest you go here: How to get the latest version of the Windows Update Agent to help manage updates on a computer

Click on the link under 'x 64' computer and Save the download, windowsupdateagent30 - x 64 .exe .

Once the download completes browsers and close all programs open. Install windowsupdate30 - x 64 .exe. Reboot the system after installation and see if it can be updated now.

  • Envy 17 3277NR: impossible to boot and install Windows from a DVD 8.1

Hi, I have an ENVY 17 (3277nr) with windows 8.1 in it, but I can't update because several months ago so I decided to reinstall the OS, so I went on the windows site that allows you to download an ISO image of windows 8.1 to burn it to a disc (right now I don't have a USB 4 GB at hand but is also possible).

I have already burned the disc on the right by clicking on the ISO and selecting "burn disc image" and changed the options start, but every time I turn on my computer all them I see is a simple underscore and then the regular windows 8 start screen.

I already visited invention helps in this regard and I read things like the thing UEFI windows 8 (not on my laptop because I upgraded to w7) and the security settings on the BIOS, but none of them seem to solve the problem.

    Additional details:

Curiously, while trying to open the burned dvd, it is said that 4.37 GB on 4.37 GB, do you think my dvd drive could be damaged?

PLEASE, HELP ME, BEEN 4 DAYS OF THIS HELL :/

    @killerpollo ,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forum.  The first thing I'd like to try in this case is download and burn the ISO from another computer.

If you have already set your boot options to boot from the CD/DVD and a new dvd is still not read you may have a hardware problem with your dvd player.

Is the DVD read DVD player when you started up windows?

So I try to put the image on a USB key and try that.

I find from time to time when I use the windows software to make an ISO, it is hit and miss you.  There is there other software that you can try, and some are free or so-called share ware.

Now, even if you burn a good image, you started with a Windows 7 system.  The real picture is more than a UEFI and you will not be able to read if your system is defined as a legacy system.

Here's what you want to check.

UEFI boot or legacy - tips

    UEFI and the Start Menu

    Site of burn free Image.

Now if your system shipped with Windows 7 product key you have for your system does not work for Windows 8.1. It is something that you will want to consider.

Let me know how things are going.

Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • Detail of computer Vista Business 32 lost in hurricane. How can I reinstall and activate Vista to the new computer and use the backup image to restore files and programs on the new computer?

Home built computer with Vista installed detail. I always have backups who intend to reinstall on the machine even if the HDD or MB went bad. Full image backup was on the hard drive of withdrawal which do not damaged. Never planned to lose computer any wave of sandstorm. I reinstalled on the same computer successfully before but never tried to migrate to a new computer.  Cannot uninstall Vista from your old computer, because it was submerged in salt water and died. I am not very well informed, but I can follow directions.  Thank you.

You don't have to worry about uninstall on the destroyed computer, because it is not usable.

And no message is sent when you uninstall any computer anyway.

When you perform the Activation on the new computer, if you have problems of activation to the phone option I have included and do not take the road to auto answer, but brace yourself for a real person to talk to you.

Then you can explain what happened.

  • Install and activate Windows by using the OEM product key

I had some issues with UEFI on my system and went to a local store because there is no support for acer in my country and the guy local flash my bios to a version not uefi-uefi. I read in an article that the product key of my windows preinstalled has been in the bios. I used some how a VB script that I found on a Web site for my product which is activated key. (1) can I still use this product key? I run the recovery disk utility and made a usb key as well as the recovery partition recovery. (2) can I use the product key with the usb of recovery in the case where my left hard drive system are also formatted?

    Original title: product key

Why the BIOS was flashed to an older version?

There is no WIndows 7 OEM embedded product key so I don't know what that means.  I asked you to run two programs to compare the key OEM of Windows 8 - reported BIOS.  We aren't interested here in another key said except OEM BIOS.  They match?  If none is reported, then it was erased with the BIOS flash.

You can contact the technical support from the manufacturer to ask how to recover your key.

I don't think it will reactivate without the key included if you reinstall.

However when he is currently enabled so what I would do is follow Clean install Windows 10 Upgrade

in order to ensure the free update now before its expiration July 31, then you will have permanent right to the PC for Windows 10 in Activation of MS servers outside any key of WIndows 8.

First, you can do the installation to another partition, that you reduce c in Disk Mgmt, as long as you start the media during installation to select the new partition, then look after installation to see if it is active Windows 8 on the drive and if so feel safe remove Windows 8 when it is ready (or not).  Until then, use the Dual Boot menu at startup to choose.

That's what I would do in your place and the sooner the better.   If the built-in product key was wiped out during the BIOS flash and technical support from the manufacturer won't help you, your best bet is to secure free Windows 10 Upgrade for the rest of the life of the PC.  The link provides the best install and has not reported complaints in total tens of thousands of people have used it.

  • Re: Impossible to reinstall driver bluetooth windows 7

I have a new laptop Portege T210. Bluetooth was working and then stopped, saying: it is not activated while he was. I use the bluetooth in bed.

I did a system restore and now when I turn on bluetooth, windows 7 Home Edition premium invites me to install the bluetooth driver. However when it starts the bar progression it stops in a way a little and just rest it says please wait.

I tried several times, including to restart the machine. Thelongest I waited more than an hour, he's right there saying it's to install the driver.
    Someone at - it suggestions?

I really want to do a system restore.

Check if the BT stack is installed on your computer. Remove the system, and after restarting the laptop installed the last version of the Toshiba BT Portal > http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/

After doing this BT control feature. In my opinion when the BT module is successfully activated it should work.

    Check it out.

  • I moved my hard drive to another computer and once connected to windows told me that I need to activate windows?

Once logged into windows, it tells me that I need to activate windows. I click Yes to activate and it tells me that windows is already activated, click OK and it returns me to my log in page over and over. Why? and what to do about it?

Because you are allowed to install and activate Windows on ONE computer and product activation has now determined that you try to use the installation on another computer.  If it is a retail version of Windows XP and if you move the installation to new hardware call Microsoft and explain the problem.  If it is an OEM version, like a Dell or HP installation and if you move it to another computer that you are to the top of the Creek with this, you are not allowed to move an installation OEM on another computer, it is linked to the computer on which it was sold with and he will die with this computer.

  • Activate Windows XP window opens but activation options are not loaded

Recently, I installed a second HDD in my system and had no problems for the last three days. When I started my computer this morning, he said that my hardware configuration has changed and I need to activate windows. When he asked if I wanted to activate Windows now, I clicked Yes and "Activate Windows" open window, but there is no option loaded (like internet activation and activate by phone). So, if I could not activate Windows.

The window load the blue background with the watermark of the keys and nothing else. The small orange line around the bottom of the page does not move (I don't know if it's supposed to). I opened the window several dozen times and have tried leaving the window open for a few hours with no result.

I have tried to delete the second HDD and looked at similar positions. I also tried the solutions involving reinstalling IE8. I tried another solution involving the boot in safe mode with command prompt and run "rundll32.exe syssetup, SetupOobeBnk' making my days to activate the increase from 3 days to 30 days. And I tried running "oobe/msoobe / has" which has just opened the window "Activate Windows", that still does not solve my problem since the options to activate wouldn't load.

For any help or suggestion would be appreciated.

  • can't activate windows 8

I've done the research and notice that you can activate win 8 on the first PC you installed cannot install on multiple PCs. So here's the microsoft problem! I installed the OS on my old computer for two weeks only; I noticed that it is slow, so I create a new computer and I wanted to install on it. I don't sell the old computer, it'll just be recycled or whatever. If you tell me that we spend hundreds on a BONE that cannot be reused or relocated? Is this a joke? What happens if our hard drives failed on us? If we lose not only the hard disk, but hundreds on the windows OS?

    Here's an idea:

Since we have signature options in windows with our email, you guys might associate the to our e-mail account activation key or a special account. Once connect us, windows recognize the user as the owner of the software and activate windows on the computer. This means that we have also other keys (s) software such as office and windows 7, to be associated with the e-mail account or a special account, we create with microsoft - which will allow the owner to use it on a new computer or reuse in the newly reinstalled PC. for those who want to sell the computer, they can remove the key to their account and sell the new user (account).

If it is a retail license, you can still transfer to another computer as long as it is removed from the previous computer it was installed on. Activation of the phone just use:

    1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

    2. then press the ENTER"" key.

    3. Select your "country" in the list.

    4. choose the option "activate phone".

    5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • Envy dv7: cannot activate Windows 10

A customer brought me a computer laptop dv7 want who came originally with Windows 8.0. He said that he had updated to 8.1 of Windows, then Windows 10. He wanted to transfer the machine to a parent, so doing a factory restore to 8.0. He brought to get me back to Windows 10. To save time, I did a clean install of Windows 10 and he pointed out activated. Now, a few days later he said that it is NOT enabled. After talking with Microsoft, I was told that I had to get the license key Windows 8.0 original of the motherboard anchored an entry like the license key to activate Windows 10. I have no idea how to get that key and reading that I've done, HP is not likely to be helpful on this. I even tried Windows 8.0 and 8.1 OEM key I have in stock, but they work no.  I'm open to suggestions and/or assistance on this.

OK, finally found a utility called RWEverything that will allow to recover the built-in license key. Windows 10 still wouldn't turn on, so had to communicate with Microsoft. With this key, they have been able to check and activate Windows 10 for my client.

  • Can I activate Windows with a cd MAR key while using an OEM drive?

    MAR CD key, OEM disc

The PC has been a repairer authorized Microsoft, and a product key of MAR on the side panel of the tower.  However, the disk hard out crapped and does not come with discs to re - install windows.  I have a windows XP Professional OEM drive, which is what the OS was when I got the computer.  In any case, MAR product key will not work with the OEM version installed from the disc I have.  I have no idea where to get a drive that will work with the key to the MAR, is there a way that Microsoft can upgrade the MAR touch to an OEM or retail so I can activate Windows?  Or at least I can activate this Windows again?

If you have the key that works with the OEM disc, use it for installation only - do not activate.

After the installation of Windows, use the official Microsoft product key Changer tool to update your product key and activate Windows.
