  Have you checked if WLAN is actually enabled on your laptop? You can turn on or off with the switch of material that needs to be defined on and key combination FN + F8. Check this box!

  Also have a look in Device Manager if the wireless network card is installed correctly. In your case, I would also try an update of the WLAN driver.
