Impossible to save Photoshop Document

Hello I'm using Photoshop CS6 on Mac OSX and I have stumbled across this problem where I can not save my document.

Whenever I try to save a file, I get this window:

"Cannot save as"Untitled - 1.psd"because the file is locked, you don't have the necessary permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the "Get Info" command in the Finder to make sure that the file is unlocked and you are allowed to access the file. "If the problem persists, save the document to another file or duplicate in the Finder.

Things I've tried:

Reinstalled Photoshop

Repair disk permissions in disk utility

change the permissions in the get info window to read and write

Redid my preferences in photoshop

Please any help would be greatly appreciated I work with photoshop much and is not allowing me to work because I can not save my file.

You have not applied the updates of Photoshop.  You're on CS6 13.0 v, and you should be on Photoshop CS6 13.0.6.

You are a full six (6) behind versions.  Go to apply all updates as soon as POSSIBLE.

  • Help!  End users with Reader only impossible to save the document that they fill out forms...?

Hello and thank you in advance for your help!

I have the full version of Acrobat 9 Standard, but I also have the trial version of Acrobat X Pro, in the hope that she would do what I need it to do.

In my business, I have a 30 page document in PDF with form in all fields.  I send this form to my clients, and they fill it in, sign it and send it back.  I wish they were able to save the document so that they do not have to fill out the 30 pages together in one sitting, they can work on the forms for a bit, then reopen later.  So far, many of my clients have complained that they are unable to save the document at all.

In addition, even if I'm here, I would also mention that I would like for these customers to put digital signatures on these documents rather than having to print, sign and scan or fax for me to hide.  I have white signature on the PDF in question, but I want to be sure that my customers end users having ONLY the reader can this sign digitally.

    Help?  Suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

You must enable Extended Reader rights in Acrobat X Pro (file - save

ACE - Reader Extended PDF - enable additional rights...) before sending the

    files of the users.

  • Error "could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document."

I did a project on Photoshop cc and registered as a .psd file. I could open and save it completely normal until my Photoshop has crashed. I had not all the files open when it crashed, but since the crash, it is impossible to open my project. Whenever I try to open the error 'Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document' pop-up.

However, my other .psd files open without problem.

I tried to change the file to a file .png and .tiff without resolution file. I also tried to use psd files recovery software, but the same error 'not a photoshop document valid'.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

  • I get the error "could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document."

I get the error "Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document" on a file that I was working with happiness last night. I use the last subscription to PShop on Mac. Any ideas. I had a glance through the forum but have not found a specific help. I tried to restart, when you rename the file, copy the file. TIA

The most common cause is when people save file type, but type the extension to a different file type (like JPEG recording, but typing.) (PSD).  Photoshop will try to obey the file extension, but the extension does not match the contents of the file, so the file cannot be read.

  • "Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document."

Well, I'm DEEPLY embarrassed at this stage.

Computer is State-of-the-art Frankenstein (PC / OS: Windows 7 / Photoshop CC 2015) that my friend built for me. I used it as per usual, la-di-da, when suddenly everything came to a stop of the screen and my armored beige computer. All because does not cut my sound on the video I watched, I couldn't get Windows Task Manager my way to freedom and for the icing on the cake, I kept the right as it is dead.

After restarting my system and tries to open my current project, I get the following error:

"Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document."

I tried pretty much everything trying to get this thing open. Here is a list of the things I've tried:

    • Make sure the extension is correct
    • Check the file in the Windows Photo Viewer (INVALID PHOTO)
    • Open in GIMP
    • Open it in Paint Tool SAI
    • "Open...". »
    • Change the name of the file
    • Move the file to a different directory
    • Open the file in Notepad (it was empty, despite the file being 7.9 MB)
    • Open the file in a hex editor (rows on rows of the 00's)
    • At least 3 third-party programs of "repair your corrupt file!
    • Check for temporary files (there is nothing that I can find)
    • Check for previous versions (the only point of restoration I can find exists somehow until I even saved the file)
    • Automatic backup and Recovery save is on (if they are different files saved somewhere else, I don't know how to find them)

What should I do? Is my file just an empty shell now? How is it still happen?

Image Doctor is supposed to, but it's a compensation package if other methods do not work, point inside.

The last thought is here: Telegraphics - Free plugins for Photoshop Illustrator... and other software

    Photoshop extract/Recovery Tool is free.

If this does not work, then the file is irreparably.

  • «.. . not a Photoshop document valid"error opening file cc Mac on PC

I get an error "Could not complete your request because it is not a Photoshop document valid." message every time I try to open a PSD file created on a Mac using Photoshop on my PC using CC CC. Other people have been able to open the file in the same place, so that the files are not corrupt. Someone knows how to fix this?

I know this thread is a bit old, but I wanted to share my experience and solution in case anyone else runs into this.

The other day, I spent many hours editing the photos for a client. I saved all and closed from Photoshop. When I tried to open the. PSD, they came all this "Not a valid Photoshop document" error. I capotais. I saw the thunmbnails and previews with the Mac OS Finder and could see the images in Lightroom, but couldn't open them in Photoshop CC.

Finally, I remembered that they were NOT supposed to be .psd files! They were supposed to be the TIFFs. What happened was, when I edited coming in Lightroom in Photoshop, they opened as TIFF. However, when I did ' save under ', I wanted to name them in the same way to other files that I had. I clicked on one of the existing files to copy the name of the file in the Save dialog box as to make it easier to name the new file that I kept, but I didn't know it was change the name extension ".tif" to ".psd" file as well. The older MacOS (version 9 or earlier) do not rely on file extensions fo identification file types, so it didn't hit me right away this would be the problem. When I changed the extension of bad .psd file in .tiff, open files in Photoshop very well.

Then... If you encounter this not "a valid Photoshop document" error, try to find out if it is actually another type of file (.jpg, .tif, .png, etc.) by getting the information from another file program or just experiment with different file extensions. Chances are good that your file is not actually corrupt, but just named incorrectly!

  • How to save the document iWork on iCloud drive?

I have 4 files in my player to iCloud.  When I create a new document in Pages and save it in the folder of chemistry, I noticed that the Pages also saves a copy in the Pages folder.  So I find myself with two copies of the document.  The same thing happens with Numbers and Keynote.

Is there a way to save the Pages (and Numbers and Keynote) documents to an iCloud specified by the user folder without copy also end up in the related app?  THX

When you save Pages documents in iCloud drive, but not in the Pages folder, it will create an alias in the Pages folder pointing to the active page document that you saved in your folder of chemistry. These aliases will be a small vertical arrow under the icon, accompanied by text stating "in iCloud drive." You can right-click on the alias and choose the menu option Show Original.

The cure is to make your records custom inside the respective iCloud drive: Pages, Numbers and Keynote primary records. These applications have an abbreviation save default Panel. On the right of the Save As the Committee Save: field, you will see a small box with an angle down in it. Click on this button, it will expand your panel Save/Save as and a button new folder will appear on the bottom.

You select iCloud drive from the Favorites panel column Pages save and then browse the Pages main, numbers, and Keynote files. This is where you click on the button new folder, which will initially show no icons it contains until you save the document. No alias is generated. For existing records outside the above-mentioned applications, you could drag and drop the folder in the respective Pages, numbers and Keynote primary records, and then you can delete the (single) alias files.

  • I can't save a document in Pages

Hi, I'm under El Capitan on a macbook of retina end 2013 pro 10.11.5.

I often have problems saving documents in Pages, especially when I open them the ICloud drive. It looks like this:

It is a new document where I pasted the text into the Clipboard.

Now, I chose 'Care' - "Sichern" (File - save), and after you type the name of the file, I get:

Which means "the"untitled"file could not be opened. Can someone help me?

    Best regards

    Jörg

Where the judgment panel by default when you try to save your new document? You try to save this document in one location other than iCloud drive, or your directory on the bootable disk?

I have just opened a new document in the Pages folder on iCloud Drive, pasted some text content and was able to save what iCloud drive, or location on my local, bootable filesystem. No problem for me.

Maybe the simpler solution is to restart your Mac.

  • What I save a document pages in to a PC can read the document. Even better if the document is read-only.

That save a document pages in to a PC can read Heard it. PDF created in Pages cannot be read by Mac PC alone.

There is no PC version of Pages, so at least that you convert you will not be able to open it.

You can create word documents and powerpoint presentations, but you cannot save them directly on a normal USB.

Microsoft made a version of office for iPad, you can find it in the App Store. Here is a link:

    Word

    PowerPoint

There are usb drives that work with iPads, and you can save documents to those who use their own applications.

I've updated to Mac OS Sierra 10.12 and I can't save a document scanned from my office. It scans the document ok, but the "Save" button is grayed out.

I can scan and record directly from the parser.

There is no driver listed on the HP website for 10.12 - the latest driver listed is of 10.1

    Anyone know how to fix?

I have a MacBook, which is still under El Capitan and it works very well as my Mac did until I updated the operating system. I also note that Sierra is not on the list of OS for this post.

Update on my problem - I discovered I can save the scanned document using the Print - command, function.

So I guess this will fix itself when HP to produce a new printer driver for this OS.
