  My RDXV60KB stops after a few seconds, try to play VHS tapes - as I understood, I replaced the power supply Board, which can sometimes be the culprit, but the problem persists. We have inherited some old movies on VHS of my late parents and I can't wait to get them on DVD. The unit, bought by me again, running perfectly otherwise.

  When this happens?
  If possible (only if you are familiar with the operation of electronics repair, otherwise do not try!) can you open the lid to check at what stage in the loading phase, closure occurs? The tape is fully charged? Is the band on the head drum and drum head begins to turn?

  As mentioned, please consider that this analysis not detailed if you are familiar with the basic security principles of manipulation, otherwise its better to consult a consumer electronics repair center.

• Using a Canopus ADVC-55 to intercept the old VHS tapes?

  Using a 27-inch 2015 iMac: I need to use an older model of analog digital converter to capture some old VHS tapes. It has only a Firewire 400 port top so I need to go to a Firewire 400 cable to a Firewire 800 adapter, connected to a port firewire 800 adapter thunderbolt.

  I do not know this unit specifically, or if the string FW400-FW800-Thunderbolt will be reliable, but if there are problems it would probably best function to use something more current. I use an Elgato Video Capture device that worked well for my purposes. It is still supported on recent Macs, and it has a USB port.

  Hi Walter,

  You are looking at a three-step process: -.

  1. connect your VHS player to your laptop (S-Video/s-Video is recommended for better quality imagery, but you'll also need to connect the audio cables from your VHS player to your Qosmio for sound.)

  2. change the captured audio and video using a proprietary software package. You may already have Windows Movie Maker installed, but you can also consider other packages of Nero, Ulead, Pinnacle, Roxio, etc.

  3 burn the project finished on a DVD.

  The whole project can be a minefield, so I recommend taking each step in turn and carefully progressing thanks to gain experience.

  Finally, don't download discouraged by the apparent conflicts between the different pieces of hardware and software. The final result will be very rewarding.

  I also P20 and I did using an external USB (Pinnacle PCTV Deluxe). Only in this way you will be able to send a signal to P20 because there is no port signal - in special. I was also able to do DVD. The quality isn't the best but it's OK.

  None of the older Hi8 range products from Sony, the two camcorders or stand-alone bridges should do a great job. However, if your original camcorder is in good working order, you should be able to do a direct transfer in real time without having to buy an additional playback equipment.

  Any camcorder without a USB output or i-Link can be connected via RCA video and audio of the catch to a card entry TV capture on your computer. You can save the result in real-time and then create DVD with the software on your computer. You can also use a DVD as the VRD - MC6 DVDirect recorder to record output directly to a DVD without a computer.

  I have several family tapes I want to transfer directly into my Dell M1530 xps.  I plugged one end of the cable into the headphone jack of the audio cassette player and the other end in making portable computer microphone.  In the Panel, I put the default line.  But I can't get any sound from the speakers.  I have the software loaded on your laptop to sound recording Audacity, but when I try to record from cassette player I get an error message to check my input device.  The cassette player earphone Jack works very well, and the audio cable is a brand-new cable Mediabridge, so I'm pretty confident that they are not the problem.  Can someone help me get these tapes loaded on my laptop?   The company is Sigmatel bankruptcy before 7 came out, then you just use the version of Vista but install in 7 using the Vista compatibility mode. Download the audio driver and extract the files (unzip or decompress and take note of the name of the folder created) but cancel the installation process. Go to the folder on the hard disk to which you have unpacked the driver files. Find the setup.exe file and right-click on it. Select Properties. Find the Compatibility tab and select Vista.

  Some owners of XPS m1530 succeeded with the IDT R226903 audio driver which is a version 7. If you want to try it, download and unzip the files in c:\Dell\drivers\R226903 but cancel installation. Then go in for the audio controller device manager (under "sound, video and game controllers"). Right-click on it and choose Update driver. Select to manually locate the driver and let Windows not seek. Find c:\Dell\drivers\R226903, and then click "next".

  I don't know anything about the Easycap, but I used a Canopus ADVC-55 with good results: I don't know if it is still available but you can try searching for it or one of the other patterns of Canopus. It requires no software driver and should work directly in iMove.

  What is the location of the files you want to move?

   

  It seems that the mp3 files you want to move don't are not on the hard disk. I suggest right clicking on files and find the exact location of the file. If the files are temporarily not available then you may not be able to move them.

• Impossible to transfer the photos from my camera

  I am trying to transfer pictures from my FinePix F60fd, it has always been very well until recently, and now nothing happens when I connect the camera to the PC. I tried to uninstall USB drivers (because they are plug-and-play) and reboot the PC. When I tried in case of problems one of the suggestions was checking if I had a file drivers.cab or ptpusb.dll file on my PC. I searched and had neither.

  Can anyone help as I have a lot of pictures that I need to download?

  I tried all of these suggestions and the PC does not recognize my camera at all. I know that the USB cable is connected to the camera and the PC OK, the camera battery is fully charged and it is the first time that this happens since I was the camera in March. The only changes that I made on the PC are the regular updates that vista automatically gets.
