Keyboard not responding after pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE
Original title: problem connecting windows xp
I am currently using windows xp sp2 and I have to lock my computer. There is this window that ask us to press "ctrl-alt-del" to unlock the computer. When I press on the computer does not respond. computer does not hang, the mouse moves, by pressing alphanumeric keys it is healthy. its currently connected to a kvm that controls 7 different pc. everything works fine except the other 2 having this problem too. Please tell us what to do.
If three of the computers connected to the kvm switch are having the same problems, but not the others, it seems that it could be the switch kvm itself. I suggest try to connect a keyboard to the computer directly, if it works, try to reconnect the switch, ensuring that all connectors are properly attached. You can also try to use another port of the switch, anyway - if it works with the keyboard connected directly to the computer - the problem is most likely the switch and not the computer/os.

I hope someone could help me with that.
We have recently upgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise and have some problems with some of our laptops.
It takes about 5-10 minutes, sometimes before the login screen appears when pressing ctrl + alt Delete, when it does not appear and user in the password input, it takes too long before that one is, connect to Windows.
I have updated all drivers and ensured that the laptop is connected to a cable network instead of wireless. Problem still not solved.
Thank you.

It is normal and safe... Do you mean that you have not always press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to log on?
If you * want * automatic login?

my computer crashes, I press ctrl alt delete and it thaws
original title: don't know what's wrong
my computer crashes, I press ctrl alt delete and it thaws, this happens very often, he does not have it for weeks at a time and then it again. I'm a paint shop pro user, I uninstalled and reinstalled psp more 2 browsers, firefox and chrome. My main browser is lunascape which he doesn't seem to be a problem. On chrome when I click on a tab, it closes. I can't copy on firefox. It did not help. Also, when this problem is occurring, I can't drag and drop only cut and paste. This has happened for several months. Someone told me I have a memory leak, but do not know that for you, I was getting ready to reformat with a full system restore and that said person who would not help, but again, I am not sure it is. I ran the antivirus scans, nothing I don't know what to do. I use a dell inspiron 531.

Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have. Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
each installation.Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers

necessary.Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check

After saving all my files and all things somewhere else, I made a "format C:" and erased the disk now the hardrive is ironed in the DELL and when I put my XP disk in the cd drive and fire I get a "BOOTMGR is missing Press ctrl alt delete to restart' HELP
Hello
You try to install Windows XP on the computer?
BootMGR is not part of Windows XP. This is the file of boot loader for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Method 1:
If you try to install Windows XP, you can go ahead and try to reinstall Windows XP from the CD and check if that helps.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/978307
Note: perform a clean install only if you have no data on the hard drive.
Method 2:
See the article and check if that helps:

Equium A100-549 - reading disc error occurred press ctrl + alt + delete to restart
Hello
I have a laptop Toshiba Equium a100-549, about 3 years, Windows XP Home Edition.
Everything worked very well so far. When starting my computer, I received the message:A disk read error occurred press ctrl + alt + delete
I don't want to lose my dataPlease please I need some advice what to do
Kind regards
AGM> I don't want to lose my data
Well. Everyone knows that a HARD disk problem can happen and all of a sudden you may lose all the data stored on the HARD drive.
That is why it s always recommended to backup the data on additional HDD, DVD, etc.I'm not sure if this will help but try this:
Try to boot from the disk Win XP (NOT the Toshiba Recovery disk) and press r. means repair and should start the repair console.
The similar DOS window should open and there, you can use a command:
CHKDSK drive/p/rThe chkdsk command checks the specified drive and repairs or recovers the drive if the drive requires it.
More details can be found here:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314058If that does not help, then you need to reinstall new OS.

NTLDR is compressed, press ctrl, alt, delete to restart
After a recent (12/08/11) update of Microsoft, I now get a message that says: NTLDR is compressed, press ctrl, alt, delete to restart. That only brings back me to the same screen. I was using Windows XP, SP3, before the crash. I can't to anything other than this screen. ANY IDEAS? Buy a MAC maybe?
Thanks for the reply. Now all I have to do is to reload all the programs that were previously installed.

BOOTMGR is missing, press ctrl + alt + delete to restart
So I found out that I have no boot disk, if windows does not start - I need to insert an installation disc that I did not. I am currently using windows vista - if I were to insert a floppy disk in windows 8, I would be able to install this later version of windows instead of Vista?

According to the description, it looks that you are facing a hard time while connecting to Windows Vista because of Bootmgr is missing.
Windows Vista Bootmgr missing, I suggest to try the steps in the following article and check if it solves the problem:

Using the Windows 8 install disc, you can perform a custom installation and install the Windows 8 operating system on your computer.

Note * you will need to boot from your bios and change the boot order so that the DVD or USB drive are first startup options. See material manufactures instructions on how to do it.
d. on the Windows configuration page, enter your language and other preferences and then press or click Next.
e. in the next screen, press or click on install now.
f. When you are prompted, type the product key in the box. Press or click Next.
g. review the terms of the license and then select I accept the terms of the license. Press or click Next.
h. on the type of installation that you want? Page, click Custom.
i. on the place where you want to install Windows? The page, tap or click on drive options (Advanced).
j. tap and press or click the partition you want to change, click the formatting option you want to run, and then follow the instructions.
k. When finished formatting, click Next.
l. follow the instructions to complete the installation of Windows 8, include the name of your computer and setting up an initial user account.
Note: Changing the BIOS / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

OT: Solid State Drive startup problems.
Hello
I recently bought a Samsung 120 GB 840 Evo Series SSD to start my operating system and general programs faster than my current hard drive. I want to keep my hard drive 2 TB of storage mass (videos, music etc...) but I want to migrate my OS on my SSD. I copied my Program Files x 86 for my SSD and I went into the BIOS and set my boot option #1 and #1 Boot priority to my SSD, however, after I save and exit the BIOS, I'm greeted by the message "Boot MGR missing - Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to reset" and now I don't know what to do.
Any advice would be great!
