  Your files are in a separate folder on your computer, not in the DW folder, so they should be safe.

  If your site is online, your files are also on the server and can be downloaded later if necessary.

  DW simply allows you to edit these files using your site definition that tells DW where to find these files. Before uninstalling DW, export your site (file STE) definition to a safe place on your computer for later import into your next installation of DW.

  I use XP Profesional SP3 and when I try to install Dreamweaver CS3 I get to Adobe initialization configuration dialog box and it stops after the bar has filled. Setup stops during execution-i checked in the Task Manager

  Had several problems with my Photoshop CS3 workhorse, so I decided it was time to reinstall a clean version. Following instructions regarding disabling (which I later learned was pointless) to uninstall, but uninstalling/installer in my file utility program does nothing... except lie there like a dead fish. Adobe don't suport responded to this version, so I came here for the forums, but did not find the exact issue. Apologies to meet in time and space if it is there and I'm too stupid to find it. I work on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.8.4. I tried to install the cleaning tool, but it doesn't seem to work either. Yes, I earlier thought to restart my computer and will do while I wait for some kind soul to give me a hand here. Thank you.

  Well, I finally solved the problem in a very complicated way. I loaded Photoshop CS3 from the disc, then I went to my Utilities folder and used the new program of uninstall to remove, apparently part of the problem. The uninstall program quickly disappeared again. I went to Photoshop and tried to open it... serial number and activation code were already entered in boxes that made me think that the old corrupt version was still there. I tried to open an image, Photoshop started loading and I got a "fatal error" page Not having any ideas better I tried to install it again from the disc and reproduced the uninstall application that come to create another alias and reproduced the other element in the file that generated an alias for the configuration application, then I clicked on the alias of the facility and he launched a different Setup program that offered the choice to install or reinstall Photoshop CS3 - a option I had not given before. So I clicked on reinstall and it took at least twice as long as the previous installation. And, I clicked on a Photoshop image loaded without having to ask for a serial number or activation code and it seems to work. I checked on the two things that had caused me problems, and both worked perfectly. I don't necessarily recommend this to anyone who has the same problem, unless they, like me, have tried everything and have nothing to lose. If the cleaning tool worked properly, it would probably be easier this way.  Thanks a lot for your help.

  Any help appreciated.  Photoshop has worked well on that computer for years.  Recently, I encountered several problems when the hard disk ran out of space.  Space has subsequently done away Dropbox, the OS has been updated, but Photoshop doesn't work anymore and I think I should only uninstall/reinstall.

  You can not. Serial numbers are platform specific and platform swaps are available only for the current version which is CS6. CS3 is also too old to qualify for an upgrade so that your only options are buy CS6 or subscribe to the creative Cloud of Dreamweaver version.

  Tried to uninstall and it said that Dreamweaver has been updated since the first installation and I had first to remove this update.  How do I do that?  I don't remember an update.

  I don't know how to remove Dreamweaver from the Panel Add & Remove.  However, I ran the cleaning of Adobe program and deleted it from the control panel.  Then I could re - install Dreamweaver.

  FYI: I was getting no error message what so ever.

  As has been done by technicians from Adobe, you obviously have a paid support plan. It would be best if you contacted them to fix this.

  I am trying to install dreamweaver cs3 on a new computer. It was not an option on the old computer to turn off because it was a volume license.   (1) CS3 is no longer supported.

  (2) you have Windows OS 10

  (3) CS3 is not certified to work on 10 to win.

  So even if they have to solve the problems of activation for you, there is no guarantee that CS3 will work on your operating system.

  I'm sorry, but I can't help you either.  I think you're at a fork in the road where you will need to update your software to match your operating system.

  In the meantime, you can download media - an infinitely better than CS3 code editor. And it works on Win10.

  Have you tried CS3 download & installation from the web site and activate it with your serial number?

  Keep in mind, CS3 is no longer supported.  It is 11 back in 2015 CC versions.  The most recent operating systems does not support it.  So if you use software, do not upgrade the OS of your computer.

  Parry Dreamweaver CS3 August 2010 on Win7x64 (now sp1) machine.  Uninstall fails: components remain.  Adobe CS3Clean script also fails: need utility from Microsoft that is no longer available.  How is this PC cleaned/uninstalled CS3?

  Basically 'worked' script (had to follow Windows uninstall to completely remove programs listing).  Thank you.  Overall, this process overall, wasting time seemed to "weaken" the generation of Win7... Adobe products (at least age) seem to be hostile in this way.  Fortunately, own Win10 build on the horizon... so no worries.

  Absolutely not. You're misinterpreting things. Activation does not happen when you simply run the installer, although later. This means that what he says - there is another 'install' pending / assets on your system, which means somewhere, there is a process (invisible) always blocking things. Whatever it is, since you have not provided any real technical info, we can not advise specifically. If you are using Windows, you can check your task manager and to terminate any process setup.exe and msiexec.exe more potentially will need to manually fix / remove some registry keys.   I had to reformat my hard drive due to a virus and took note of all my serial numbers.

  I have Dreamweaver CS3 on laptop with disk and accept my code but then I have to call to activate fully.

  I then get a message on the phone telling me to go to adobe.com/go/activation, then, I can't do anything.

  He told me of click on help in dreamweaver and activate from there, but I can't go in front of a screen of activation to get there.

  Please help I need to work on my site.

  I have CS2 has been disabled due to a "technical problem" without name.
