  I am trying to remove several programs using Control Panel - Add or remove programs.  I get the following error

  An error occurred trying to uninstall [program name].  It may have already been uninstalled.

  Windows then gives an option to remove the program from the directory.  I did hope that he would then remove the program itself, but not luck.  The program is still listed under the start menu, all programs and runs correctly if clicked.

  Any help to understand why the Panel think that the program is uninstalled when it's not would be very useful, as would a work-by-turn.

  You could try to locate the individual uninstall each program feature. The names of these vary from one software to another manufacturer, but they are usually in the directory of the software program. If there is a specific application uninstall routine, it is often indicated by an UNINSTALL. LNK sortcut. If you follow this path, go to the program folder, then right click on the shortcut and run as administratoruninstall application.

  To avoid just uninstall, you can try to locate any program that is associated with the program to be uninstalled, and ensure that it is not running in the background or as a service. Choose Start, MSCONFIG, tab Start to see most of the programs that run auto-magiquement on the computer starts.   This happens because the data type of the tab control changes (you add another page). A tab control is essentially an enum and enum values are part of the data type. A reference to the tab control control is to be packaged and passed in several subVIs. Cluster of frontage on these subVIs control has the element 'Hand Control' value "Include the Data Type". Thus, what they expect to see (for example, a tab with 3 pages) is not what they get. That is why the thread cut. You must either:

  • Uncheck "Include the Type of data" for the item "control of the hand. I don't know what other impact this will have, as I look at all the code.
  • Update all the controls on the front panel with a new reference to the command.

  Aside: who wrote this program needs a lesson on the typedefs.

  Cause

  This problem can occur if an ESX host's IP address is changed while being managed by vCenter Server.

  Check the cause

  To check the cause of the problem:

  1. Log in as root to the ESX host using a SSH client.
  1. In the file etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg, find the IP address of the host. The entry looks like:

     
     10.21.48.121
     

     Note: for more information about editing the files, see installation in VMware ESX configuration files (1017022).

  Troubleshooting

  If the IP address is incorrect, perform the following steps in order. If the operation does not resolve the problem, continue to the next step. Don't skip a step.

  1. Disconnect and then reconnect the host:
  1. Right click on the ESX host in vCenter Server and click Disconnect.
  1. Reconnect the ESX host in vCenter Server.
  1. Restart the VirtualCenter agent on the ESX host:
  1. Stop the service of vpxa with the command:

     # service vmware-vpxa stop

  1. Open the /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg file in a text editor and correct the IP address of the ESX host.
  1. Start the service of vpxa with the command:

  1. Right click on the ESX host in vCenter Server and click Disconnect.
  1. Remove the ESX host disconnected from vCenter Server.
  1. Backup the file vpxa.cfg with the command:

     # mv /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg /etc/opt/vmware/vpxa/vpxa.oldcfg

  1. Add the ESX host disconnected to the server vCenter inventory.

  Use the XMLType schemaValidate() method. It will throw an exception whose message contains the validation error.

  Get a number of 'line' is not sensible as XML is concerned.
