  Tried to update with another network (my mobile access point).  Installation was successful.
  It would seem that through my personal ADSL router, I was not able to properly access the Adobe server.

  You wish I could try the new CC even with the good and not so great reviews. I see the updates in my application of cc, but when I go to download, all I get is error download (something firewall and servers) and when I click Details I see error 123.

  Try to download and install updates to CS5.  Everything seemed normal, got the progress bars to download and install updates.  Then the end message that the update could not be installed because there was an error downloading the update. A subfolder for each of the CS5 applications created in the AAMupdater folder.  Each of the applications was a subfolder, but contained only an XML file.
