Impossible to update the BIOS on Equium L350

I tried updating the BIOS on my laptop but when I run the update I get the message "the ROM file is not newer than the BIOS. I've updated all the others drivers drivers optical drive, when I run the update to do this I get the messagae that they are not compatible, even if I download the correct one for my model.

Any ideas please?

Sorry my friend, but I do not understand what you want to hear now. It seems that you are a fanatic of the update ;) Just a joke!

As you can see it the downloaded version of BIOS is not an end of history was updated.
Driver optical drive? Can you please tell me what it is? What is the name and version of the file that you want to install?

No, there is no other update BIOS because victory BIOS update version is available on the Toshiba driver website.

I guess you need good work and battery charge in order to update the BIOS.

But why you want to update the BIOS? Is something wrong with the laptop?
The update of the BIOS is a very serious update and must be done very carefully

  • Impossible to update the BIOS on Satellite A665

    Hello

I desperately need help with update my BIOS on Satellite A665 that my battery won't charge and the site said to me updated the BIOS, but it is not letting me update battery is less than 10%.

Please someone help me because I have no way to use the laptop without power still present.

    Hey Buddy,

Can you charge the battery when the laptop is turned off? Usually battery LED should show you white and orange color to the loading process if the battery is fully charged. And then start the computer and update the BIOS.

  • Impossible to update the bios

I bought the laptop on ebay (the portable school was) battery does not charge but shows connected, I get the message that it is the result of the outdated bios (A00 updating is A06). I tried to update the bios, but the first problem was no image of the system.  I did it.  I did auspices try to update bios, this time bios tbe will not update because of the battery is not not charghed at 10%. I can not load the battery.

Is it possible to update the bios, or should I get another battery?

I got in touch with sales of battery problem before all this and got a new battery by recommendation of sellers. There no awareness of this problem, the battery WAS at 50% charged.  I have no problem with the purchase of another battery if there is no other way.

Check if the power adapter is recognized by the system (F2 at startup).  If it is not, battery does not charge.

If the adapter is not recognized, it is not a BIOS problem - try a new Dell OEM adapter first.  If this does not solve the problem, and the DC Jack is replaceable, replace the DC Jack in the system.  In the case of a model where the CC is not replaceable or replacement Plug does not solve the problem, the motherboard should be replaced.

    Hello!

I want to update my BIOS which is v.240 now. I DLed the latest version at the official site (311 I think).
I did pay attention to the numbers when I select one for my laptop.

When I try to update it - it begins to do message not not to have apps on and not restart or put in hybernation appears and then it stops. Then he tries to launch windows - W 7 Edition Home Premium, and windows once, everything becomes a black screen with a cursor.

Cursor can me moved but it lost during 10 minutes there.
After that I had to reboot to get rid of the black screen. I tried again later.
Same result. And I checked my bios version - there are still 240. :(

What should I do? Thank you!

    Hello

Before you run an update of the BIOS, the antivirus and other security applications must be disabled. Also, make sure that nothing is running in the background.

In addition the VAP (value added package) must be installed. I recommend the update to this package too.

    Hello

It seems that the laptop starts fine but the Windows operating system may not start correctly.
In your case, I recommend once again to start and to access the BIOS.
Here, you must set it to the default settings and must save the changes.

In addition, you should boot from the Windows CD and must attempt to reinstall new OS.
If this will not help so I assume that something was wrong during the update of the BIOS and the BIOS should be reflashed again.

Unfortunately the BIOS can be reflashed back only by an ASP because ASP can use a traditional BIOS version that allows you to update if you are using external USB FDD drive.

    Hello

Looks like you want to update the Bios back-base. You can download windows-based BIOS:

    http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/7228/78420804.jpg

Note, updating of the Bios, close all running programs running, including antivirus, disconnect from the Internet. However, if the system works well. should not touch.

  • Can Equium P200 (PSB5E) - I update the BIOS on Windows 7?

    Hello.

My question is: how to upgrade the BIOS under Windows 7? My Bios version is 1.70, I've seen, this version 2.50 is available for download, but only under Vista.

    Can it run Windows 7?

    Hello

    First question;
Why do you update the BIOS?
    Is the reason for this?
If the laptop runs successfully a BIOS update is not necessary!

    Now back to the issue of BIOS;
Some laptops have special need BIOS for Win XP or Vista.
So if you are using XP or Vista, then you must use the BIOS that was designed for one of these windows systems on the European driver Toshiba page you can see a column of OS that provides the info for what BIOS OS is designed.

But in most cases, the BIOS is OS independent, which means that you can use it in any Windows operating system.

Simply said; If the BIOS is available for Vista, then you can only use it with Vista.
If it s independent OS, you can use it with Win 7, Vista or XP

  • Equium L350D - 11 d - I should update the BIOS?

A month ago I bought a "reworked factory" L350D - 11 d and I am pleased with it. I couldn't have guessed that it was not new, and it works perfectly, I would say.

I just got a Toshiba Tempro application to download and install an update of the BIOS - it:
    [THIS HTTP://UK.COMPUTERS.TOSHIBA-EUROPE.COM/INNOVATION/DOWNLOAD_DRIVER_DETAILS.JSP?ID=63134&OSID=-1&OSBUILD=6000&OSBITSIZE=32&DRIVERLANGUAGE=42&SOUR = TEMPRO & LNG = 1]
but I am concerned about a number of things. I should add that I used laptop computers for years but I am not particularly well informed on the technical level.

    1. the faq on updates BIOS says that the laptop must be in mode 'start-up', not 'repeat mode '. I don't know what are these modes, and a few technically competent guys which I asked don't know either. Can someone enlighten me please?

2 that the technically competent guy said was update the BIOS was fraught with peril, and I could end up with an unusable machine. Is this really so? If this is the case, then I don't understand why Toshiba blithely ask customers to do. But as the update doesn't seem to be a solution, but simply provides unspecified 'increased functionality', and I've had my laptop a month and it works perfectly, is there any point to take the risk?

    3. the update was published October 9, 2008, and that I only bought my laptop at the end of January is it reasonable to assume that the resumption of the factory included a BIOS loading which included the updated? If there is, then I don't have a dilemma to worry! Is there a way to know this?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello!

First a question: you have a problem with your laptop?

If you don t have a problem with your laptop you should not update the BIOS or change anything on the system configuration and software.
Never touch a running system! ;)

Do not update BIOS if TEMPRO said. For example I only update my BIOS if I have a problem with it, but normally you should not do this.

    Good bye

  • Equium A110-276: can I update the BIOS when installing Vista?

I don't know where to post this...

"I have a clean install of Windows Vista on my satellite A110-276. I have to update the BIOS or not? Is - mandatory/mandatory BIOS update?

    Hello

It seems that Toshiba has released a special version of the BIOS for Windows Vista.
If you want you can check it on the page of the Toshiba driver.

But if your Vista runs correctly on the computer laptop with the previous version of BIOS you n don't need to update the BIOS.
I recommend updating BIOS, if any odd operational behavior will appear.

  • Satellite A210 - update the BIOS didn't

    Hello

Just tried to update the BIOS on my Equium A210, everything went well until the closing and restarting (which failed).
He left me with a black screen and an orange to power lights, no back to zero and I only can we get rid of the orange light if I remove the battery.
OK, what I'm doing now?... is this repairable?

    See you soon

    > OK, what do I do now?... is this repairable?
    Yes and no.

You can't fix this, but the ASP technician can do that.
Therefore, you will need to contact the ASP in your country, to solve this
The technician would be able to Flash the ROM module and I think this should help you.

  • How can I update the BIOS without using a CD?

    Hello!

I recently decided to update my RAM from 2 GB to 4 GB. After installation, I started my computer to find that it would not recognize the new memory. After doing some troubleshooting, I decided to try to update the BIOS, like the 2010 version. I have downloaded the update to the BIOS boot CD implementation of lenovo, burned a disk and restarts, I found that the boot order has no CD contained thereon. Here's the catch: I do not have the supervisor password. It is a mobile phone in hand, and I tried to find the password nothing is done. It's the current boot order: USB key, hard drive.

My question is, can I create a BIOS update disk using a USB key, or update the BIOS of another way?

I understand that it is impossible to recover the supervisor password without having served (that I prefer to not do, even if I have to return my Crucial RAM)

    My system features:

    ThinkPad L512

    BIOS version: 1.04

    BIOS date: 2010-3-26

    Controller of Embeded Version: 1.01

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to the forum!

    Two things here:

    (a) If you run the system update, it should offer the latest BIOS for your machine as well. I never did on a protected device, so it may or may not work, but perhaps worth it.

    (b) I doubt the ability of the system to recognize the new RAM has something to do with the BIOS. Much older than your ThinkPads will take place 4-8 GB of RAM with an old BIOS, older than your machine initially.

    Good luck.
