In double, but unique vector dynamic object?

If I duplicate a vector smart object and "Edit content", the changes appear in both layers.

How can I create a single copy of a vector smart object so if I "Edit content" only one layer, this will not affect the other?

CS6 here.

Use the New Smart Object Via Copycommand. It is in the layer > Smart objects submenu and in right-click menu a name in the layers panel so.

Guys, I don't know if it s me be stupid or what.

I have countless photoshop files that have vector smart objects. I used to double-click them, edit them in illustrator, save in illustrator, then back to photoshop with the updated file.

Now I have an icon of clouds, and when I double click I get this crazy message:

This point is not directly editable in Photoshop, but it can be placed in a document. To move the item, drag it into an open document.

Well, I don't want to edit in Photoshop. I want to edit in Illustrator as it s always summer.

I tried this new library thing, but I get the same message.

I went through all the options when I right click on the smart object I just pasted in photoshop, illustrator, but nothing.

    Help, please

(he is my latest version of photoshop, I wish that I can undo the last update)

You don't have to use the library if it messes up your workflow. If you want to change a bound and smart object which has been placed through the library, you can right-click on the layer in the layer panel and change from a link if so incorporated

Very annoying. I'm on PC. Help!

  • What happened to the automatic editing vector smart object function?

    Photoshop has been recently updated,

How can someone drag a layer to illustrator?

    It does not work

bring this function please... :-), this feature is necessary

is it something to do with the preferences of the application?

    Thanks in advance

If you pasted as a smart object with the option 'Add to my current library' enabled, I think that Photoshop will use the version of the library.

Uncheck the option 'Add to my current library' to get the old way back.

  • Can I add a dynamic object in the CSS code?

Is it possible to insert a picture of the smart object in the CSS rather than HTML code?

If I want to change the background of the site, I can change it in one place. I thought that was the point of CSS.

    Am I missing something?

No, not missing anything. As I explained in my original answer, you can use Dreamweaver CS4 to convert a PSD to a background image in an external CSS file or a block of style incorporated. However, Dreamweaver CS4 don't treat it like a dynamic object.

The Smart Objects PSD works only in HTML. When you select a PSD to CSS, it generates an image compatible with the web (.gif, .jpg, or .png), but not a dynamic object.

Well, something's wrong with Photoshop. Try to close Photoshop, and then press Command + Option + shift as you restart Photoshop. You will be asked to clear the Photoshop preferences. ATTENTION: you will lose all current preferences.

  • Vector smart object inside another dynamic object with loss of quality suite scale

    Hello

I have 6 icons created in Illustrator and imported as vector smart objects.

Then, I select all 6 and create another object of Smart from there.

If I resized now this dynamic object, it loses it s quality, as if the icons are raster in the first place.

This is not what happened in PS CS5.

It s a bug or "novelty"?

You must realize that Photoshop makes pixels for the embedded object then when you resize the smart object layer it evolve as and layer rasterizes by interpolation not reduced with vector graphics. His work of the layers the way smart object. His is a very old thread on the topic

  • Cannot deform stuck HAVE dynamic object using the free transform vector in PS CS6

    Hello

I stuck a vector object in PS CS6 (13.0.1 x 32) today directly from Illustrator CS6 (16.0.1 x 32) and select 'Paste as smart object' (Windows XP Pro SP3).

I then tried to distort the object glued using the free transform tool by dragging one of the handles to angle with hold CTRL (Windows).

General warps\distorts the object, but instead, it launched an operation to bias .

If I paste as Pixels or shape layer and then apply free Transform, < Ctrl + corner handle slide > performs a warp\distort operation.

Also, if I have rasterized glued it opposed and then convert them to a smart object, I can warp\distort.

Is it not possible to paste a vector Illustrator in as a smart object, then warp\distort directly using this technique?

    Thanks for your help.

    Richard

Your right because on a stuck vehicle a smart cannot deform, false or perform perspective transformations.

One solution would be to right click on the vector smart object layer in the layers panel and

    Choose Convert to smart object.

It depends on what is your object, you would probably better quality of a pasted shape or path, but then you will not be able to open the object

    back in illustrator from photoshop.

  • Dynamic objects of poor quality in Photoshop

My apologies if this has already been answered, but I was able to find a solution. I want to add vector items saved in a creative library of clouds in a photoshop document, but when I insert smart objects they all appeared really pixelated. I used to be able to copy and paste directly from indesign, Photoshop, but the same thing is happening now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much

If you want to transform a smart object layer.  If the object is a vector file placed as an .ai or .svg file the object layer dynamic will be a vector smart object and turn via vector graphics that will turn all other objects using interpolation.  If the object has Photoshop vector graphic elements. You can double-click content layer icon in the layers palette. This will open a working document in Photoshop, you can resize in Photoshop using vector graphics. When you save the work file Photoshop updates the dynamic object with your object resized layer. I don't use other Adobe products you can save vector files from indesign as .svg files?  And put them in you library. So far, I have not use libraries for all I use in Photoshop in a team not environment.  I can find a use one day Adobe libraries.

I think that if the assets in a library and .svg file it would be placed in Photoshop as a vector smart object layer.

  • Objects vector smart object - file format

What is the best file format to save a photoshop file that has a number of vector smart objects that will eventually print? File can be placed in illustrator or indesign prior to be expelled to the printer either as direct files or on the PDF.

Danny is correct: smart objects are STILL pixelated in resolution of the PSD, regardless of the format that you save it in.

If you want to print any dynamic objects with imported objects vector (illustrator?) to setter image max resolution, you must extract these objects in the PSD file and rebuild the design in Illustrator or InDesign.

It means that the smart object in question, which opens in Illustrator, and then save the file as a file HAVE editing. Remove the smart object in the PSD in Photoshop, then save a new version. Note the exact dimensions and positions. Open the file in InDesign and rebuild the original.

If the layer effects have been applied in Photoshop to a matter SO vector: no chance. You will need to generate layers separated in the best of cases, or begin to recreate the effects in Illustrator in the worst case scenario. Or a combination of both.

Vector shapes and the Type that were generated in Photoshop with effects applied to him may be problematic if the resolution of the PSD is insufficient. However, the outline remains vector while recording in Photoshop PDF format. Import the PDF into InDesign retains the sharp vector contour. Just make sure that the native resolution of the Photoshop document is high enough to produce a strong impression for effects (which will be pixels).

The problem is that a lot of designers decided to convert their photoshop vector shapes and text in smart objects - and this will rasterize the result, no matter what. And there is no easy way to "unsmart" a dynamic object.

A method (far from perfect) is:

    • Double-click the smart object to open it in a new window
    • Select all the layers in the .psb (dynamic object) that opens
    • Choose Layer > Group the menu
    • Hold down the SHIFT key and drag the window of smart objects to your original document with the move tool window.
    • Drag the icon fx the dynamic object for the new group of layers layer you just drag over
    • Remove the smart object layer.

The only caveats to this method are scale and positioning. You may have to reposition some groups according to their interaction with the edges of the original document. And if you scale the smart object layer, you may need to scale of the group as well.

Here is a script that automates some of this: http://blog.kam88.com/en/expanding-smart-objects-script.html

This will ONLY work with SOs that were created in Photoshop.

Dynamic objects are bothersome creatures indeed. Much too easy for designers unknowing to destroy the intent of vectors and difficult and potentially very tedious to undo in a news environment.

The problem is that a lot of users tend to abuse of Photoshop as a request to print 'all-in-one' layout

  • Dynamic object or shape?

  • Dynamic objects rendered incorrectly

Whenever I have paste an illustrator as dynamic object object, the edges become jagged and the vector loses its sharpness. It works very well in CS6 but this hads just started happening in Photoshop CC. I've updated to the current version, but it has not changed.

Screenshots are below, taken 100% - you can see that the vectors are not very sharp

Select free transform and enable antialiasing (you don't have to change the shape of transformation).

  • Transparency of the dynamic object created in Illustrator

Hi guys! Someone smarter than me?

    1. I created the vector Illustrator object with opacity masks:
    2. I inserted the .ai file saved {by dragging BR} in Ps as smart object.

But look at the Sun. below: you can see, that the area hidden by using Ia - mask opacity is 100% Demasquee have, but don't you understand, the same area what when .ai file is converted to the dynamic object in Ps? Do you have any ide what may cause this difference in the rendering of the same object?

    Thank you in advance!

Make sure you use the same color space in both programs and create your mask in the destination color space. It's a problem of color management. This problem is because you use different color spaces in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Most likely, you have created the mask in a CMYK (text) color space into Illustrator and your Photoshop document uses an RGB color space. Indeed you will have the same problem in Illustrator if you convert your document CMYK to RGB using the file > color mode of the Document or copy the work of a CMYK document and paste it into a document RGB. Having in mind that the problem is not limited only to the conversion between the RGB and CMYK color spaces, you might have the same problem when converting between the two areas of different color using the same color as RGB, for example sRGB template in Illustrator and Adobe RGB in Photoshop. For more details about similar problems with color spaces to check this thread:

  • Dynamic objects in CS5 behave differently than in CS4?

I just upgraded to CS4 CS5, and I noticed, what is for me, a BIG change in the way work dynamic objects.

    Imagine this simplified hypothetical scenario...

I create a new document in Illustrator, with two layers.

    On a layer would be a full 800 x 600 rectangle. On another layer, I would put a small circle of 50 x 50.

The import thing here, is that the circle could be positioned in the upper left corner with respect to the rectangle.

I would select the two objects, switch to Photoshop, create a new document to 800 x 600 and paste what I just copied in the document as a smart object.

Photoshop would treat both Illustrator layers of course, as a single smart object and they would get stuck together, and they would look exactly how they did it in Illustrator - which is the circle that is positioned in the upper left corner of the rectangle.

Now, I decide I want to hide the massive rectangle in my dynamic object, but I want to keep the circle exactly as it is now in the Photoshop document.

So I simply double-click to edit the original Illustrator file, and then I hide the layer with the rectangle on him, save the file, close it and return to Photoshop.

In CS4, the file would be updated to show the changes I had made, then the rectangle would disappear and only the circle would remain - and what is important, the circle would maintain its position. He would stay in the upper left corner of my Photoshop document (the rectangle still exists in the original Illustrator file, but the layer it's on is simply hidden).

However, when I do the same exact process in CS5, when I update the smart object after the rectangle in Illustrator layer masking, the smart object seems to ignore the rectangle that is hidden in the file, and the solitary circle remaining gets totally offbeat in the center of the file Photoshop 800 x 600. So it is now no longer in the top left corner, where it was before.

This causes me ENORMOUS problems, because I carefully positioned many many various objects in my Illustrator files which then is moved his place whenever I'm doing an adjustment!

Is it possible to get CS5 to deal with dynamic objects in the same way that CS4 done in front of him?

I heard about the Illustrator team. It seems that this behavior is the result of a change in how the framework encompassing is determined for communicating objects. I'll add a feature request for Illustrator, but in the meantime, the suggested solution is to change the opacity of the object to 0 rather than hide the object.

  • Update dynamic object in views blurred Photoshop Illustrator

    Hi all

It is probably a request insultingly simple but:

I created a map in Illustrator, opened it as a dynamic in Photoshop and dragged object layer in a PSD.

When needing to make changes to the map, I double clicked the icon of the dynamic object on the layer list which opened the EPS Illustator on the map in Illustrator. Changes, saved and closed - everything goes as planned until this point.

When I return to my DSP the smart object has updated very well, but it seems all pixilated and blurry. The file has not been moved because I placed the origin of the smart object and nothing I seems to give me a crisp update to smart object.

My only option, which is a pain, is to open the original illustrator EPS - change - back up and start over in Photoshop.

There must be something I am doing wrong.

    Any help is appreciated!

Actually, I meant the window of Options Illustrator where one set of PDF compatibility and other.

Have you tried to put a file have instead of an eps?
