original title: WHAT is "LIGHTNING SPEED"?

In Internet jargon, what is really "LIGHTNING SPEED" which is announced on the radio?  It means a lot faster download of long Hollywood movies, for example, compared to cable Internet? In terms of Mbps speed as 'LS' would be compared to Internet cable?  What compared with WIFI at a speed of 54 Mbps and 'Excellent' the quality of the signal? If need me a second or two to go to the Google search engine on Wikipedia site by clicking on the result, how much more quickly than it would be "lightning speed" be?  When I'm at the local library or at a Starbucks I noticed the quality of WIFI signal from my laptop (Windows Vista with 250G of space available 300 and 3G of RAM) to be very good to excellent and the speed of 36 Mbps or higher.  It takes about 1-3 seconds to go from site to site search engine.  How fast is the Internet cable in comparison? I know, DSL is slower, and dial-up poor crawls less than 56 Kbps.

Thank you very much for all the world and all those who made efforts to give me a clear understanding of the "LIGHTNING SPEED" function of the INTERNET SPEED CABLE against the very-good-to-excellent quality signal & 36 Mbps or more WIFI SPEED.
Thank you very much.
Joe

Hello

The term of lightning speed differs from ISP to ISP. There is no certain download or upload speed which is called lightning speed. It's the same that to get good bandwidth to get higher download and the upload speed.

Even the cable Internet high speed can be addressed as lightning speed. WI FI connection speeds are to your LAN (Local Area Network). A WI - FI router is unable to go beyond the speed provided by your ISP.
