Is VoIP a kind of internet connection what operating system using VoIP?

Is VoIP a kind of internet connection what operating system using VoIP?

VoIP means "Voice Over Internet Protocol". Have a read of this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voice_over_IP for a little more in detail.

Any OS with a proper application should be able to use it. Skype is a typical example, there are others.

    Hi alperb33255764,

You can use what you want, there is no such limitation. However when you go to cloud service based like loading or sync files to your cloud storage, you need an active Internet connection.

I recommend you see this KB doc for more information on creative cloud: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-connection-faq.html

Pass Vista (requires a minimum of 2 GB of RAM) and install Windows 7 (just 1 GB of memory for the 32-bit version).  If you buy the "Full" version (not the upgrade version) from Windows 7, you can Dual Boot between XP and Windows 7 (not all XP software will be running in Windows 7 and dual-boot will allow you to continue to use any software that you place a high value on the). More information on dual-boot below.

You must first check if your Windows XP-based computer supports Windows 7  Go the the computer manufacturing technical support web site and see if they list Windows 7 device drivers. No driver Windows 7 means that you can not (the most often install Windows 7, if this isn't the case find Vista drivers).

    Hello

This may depend on your condition. If the computer on which you want to install the new operating system is for typical home use, then you may want to buy Windows 7 rather than Windows Server 2008.

Also, please take a look at the underside of the articles that might help you to choose the operating system.

  • Partition Recovery - what operating system?

I just bought a ThinkPad Edge E431 with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS pre-installed, but a free upgrade option to Windows 8 Pro (Windows 8 a license with downgrade rights).  Provided Lenovo recovery Windows 8 Pro (upgrade) DVD discs but nobody knows (or how to find out?) what operating system is contained in the recovery Partition from the factory on the laptop?  I expect that it is Windows 7 but the caveats users defined recovery disc to be sure to do a recovery image before moving on to Windows 8, which should not be necessary if the recovery Partition is Windows 7.

    Mtn-high hi,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community!

We understood that your request is subject to OS pre-loaded on ThinkPad Edge E431.

If the system is delivered with Windows 7 pre-loaded OS, then the recovery partition will be Windows 7 OS only.

We recommend to create the current operating system reinstallation disk, and after you create the recovery disk, you can move the windows of Windows 7 to Windows 8 OS.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards

  • Install R12 on PowerEdge R200. On what operating system?

    < p >
    Hello community,

We recently have a PowerEdge R200 Server single processor Intel Dual-Core < sup > & reg; < / sup > Xbox < sup > & reg; Negative > series E3100 @ 3 .00GHz, with 4 GB memory and 500 GB of hard drive. The system offers the possibility to choose the operating system to install.

    The available operating systems are:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (Version 4, Update 5) x86_64.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (Version 5 Update 2) x86_64.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 Service Pack 4 x86_64.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 2 x 86-64.

My question is: in your experience, what operating system is more suitable in order to install version 12 on this subject.

    Thanks in advance.

    < /p >

I was installing on a Linux 32-bit operating system when I created the doc. You can start with 12.0.4 for Linux x 86-64, but keep in mind that you want more memory on the server to take advantage of the possibilities of 64-bit memory allocation. Your CMS database will not be limited to 1.7 or 2.5 GB, and you won't have to waste his time with the base RAID card ETC.

Configuration of OS for great CMS

Memory is cheap. Add another 4 or 12 GB of RAM for this box if you want acceptable performance, unless you expect only to have a few simultaneous users.

  • share my internet connection with another computer using a router

My question is if I give you my wep key to another computer in my house so that it can access the internet will be my files or no matter what content of my computer stays private, I need to share my internet connection without sharing something else?. Thanks JF

In general, it is safe to do so - just a person granting access to your network will not give them access to your files on your computer unless you are already sharing files with another computer on your network.  In this case, you want to check your sharing settings to make sure that the shared files are not available for all users of the network.  The thing I'd be worried, is whether or not the person you share with is "don't own"-no virus, malware, etc. on their computer, given that some of these programs can spread via a shared network connection.

  • No internet connection after wipe system

OK, so recently, I wiped my Alienware X 51 R2 to its default state of factory, but once the system itself wiped completely to its default state of the internet connection did not work. Apparently, the internet connection problem was caused by a problem with the wireless adapter, I don't know what the problem is with the wireless adapter.

I tried to solve the problem, but that did not help and I used the alienautopsy program to analyze the hardware systems but everything was fine. I also checked in the Device Manager and everything rolled up very well here also, so apparently by what I can tell there is nothing physically wrong with my wireless adapter.

So, if somebody knows what's going on with my computer and how to fix it, help would be very appreciated!

    (I have a Windows 8.1 btw)

If you expect to see 9 connections when you click left the Internet next to the battery icon on the bottom of the bar of the screen, then that would be wireless.    IF the computer is off line without seeing any other connections, you must be connected with an Ethernet cable. Looks like a problem with wireless.  If it was a problem with the Ethernet cable, the first thing is to ask if you have a cable connection with special protocols, as a name and password, or.  phone call to your ISP can clarify if this was a problem.

1 check out the switch airport connection.    If the wireless connection is set to.    Windows 8 may sometimes have a problem with these devices to vote does not correctly.

    2. try to return these two going back and forth, giving a minute or two for the OS to see the change and see if wireless starts to see possible links.  Even restart between the evolution of the position of the switches.  (? which resembles a waste of manoeuvre of the silent time.)   It is therefore preferable to three before performing reboots.

    3. right click on the connection icon, choose ' Open network and sharing Center", where you can find things in turn also power off and reset the wireless connections.

    4. you can go to the Dell website, with your Express Service Code and find specific downloads for the hardware in your computer, where you can find Wireless, which Alienware technology recommended that you try to reinstall, as well as the other driver for the Ethernet driver.  Once you have a downloaded copy that you know how to find him, then we can reinstall that over and over.   As well as the network driver.   Spades, just download them all.

    5. I know that for me, because I always support, (and I live in the United States) so I can call the Alienware Technical Support, who really know what they're doing and can probably talk you through all of this, or if you have a wired Ethernet goes, they can remotely you and fix it without having to worry about this.   Alienware Tech have been great to fix things that I messed up.   I hear rumours that they are not so big in other countries.
