In my 32 bit Vista system, I messed up my permissions

I want to change my permissions administrator and have completely messed up. I have 3 icons for Accts... (1) AdminBarbara - set as a Standard user, protected, white (2), administrator password, password protected, and (3) comments - ACCT. comments turned off.

I really just need an account administrator, password protected.  I need all the permissions for this account.  When I finally stopped and restarted my PC, it does not required a password to connect.

Can someone please tell me in simple English how to put my PC where it was?  I read ' how tos' and help until I get tired and confused.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Specifications of the PC:
MS Win Vista Home Premium
6.0.6002 service Pack 2 Build 6002
Gateway T5062 - X 86-based PC
AMD Athlon 64 3800 + 2400 Mhz processor, 1 Lossnay 1 logical processors
Memory physical (RAM) installed 1.00 GB
894 MB total memory

Hi Barbara,

I understand that you'd need to account only one user with administrator rights and password protected. Correct me if I misunderstood the question.

(1) you have access to the empty account?

(2) you want to Admin Barbara as administrator account and delete other user accounts?

To set any user with the password protected administrator account you must have access to the administrator. If you have access to the administrator account, I you suggest to change the type of your account you want the administrator account and then try to create a password for the account.

I hope it helps. If you have any questions about Windows in the future, please let us know. We will be happy to help you.

    > This problem has existed for a long time.

It may be too late now since you won't restore b 'old' enough to do the system restore.

However, it is best to do Safe Mode system restore. You can give it a try.

How to go in safe mode...
Restart > immediately and repeatedly tapping the F8 key until you see a black white screen abd > use the up/down down arrow to select Safe Mode, Mode safe mode with networking, or Safe Mode with command prompt (if applicable)

You should also try to do a check of the system files. It's to look for corrupt files. He will try to fix it if it is found.

He may be able to solve the problem of lack of system restore.

  • try to install Medal of Honor Airborne on 32-bit vista, and problems with the windows firewall starts do not.

    OK, im losing my mind.

I bought a copy of airborne for my 32 bit vista system and found initially that I had to do a few tricks to install and play it like UN-installing ageia phys-x, it was simple enough. Well I have had since stopped playing it and would try to uninstall without result. I tried to fix it and using "C-cleaner.

I went down some of the files, but I think that my registry is a little buggy so I tried blocking it with c cleaner, he sure found several errors and fixesd them.

Well, I'm trying now to re - install MOHA and when I put the disc and click autorun the pre-start games window appears with the usual options, play, upgrade, site Web etc... I hit play, it does nothing. I tried to uninstall it from the disk and to halfway through she said "MOHA has not stopped the Installation Wizard prematurely try again later". I can't repair or uninstall or install. I read somewhere that it is a firewall with windows problem and if I run my firewall victory "which I have never on", this should work if the software is added to the 'green' list on the firewall.

now I find that I can not get my firewall to start. I researched and found a few forums where people explained to the services command prompt and tried to 'start' several 'order' in there and firewall programs will not start giving me this error-windows cannot start service windows firewall. and the code of error-6801.

I am a novice to tooling autour under the 'software' hood of PCs. I know a bit about the material and that's it. anyone has any ideas for me? otherwise I'm looking to another disorder vista install, I had a moment difficult, installation of the 1st hour and im not not looking forward to try it again...

Thanks in advance, has soon - a fool lose his mind...

    Hi rocknerd,.

You can try to download the Windows Installer Cleanup utility and try to remove the game, and then reinstall it.

You can read the following article to download the Windows Installer Cleanup utility:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

    1. click on Start , then select all programs

    2. in all programs , click Windows Installer Cleanup; the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility window appears, listing the software currently installed on your computer.

    3. Select the game in the list, then click on Remove. If you have multiple files, delete all the.

After you run the Windows Installer Cleanup utility try to re install the game and check if it works on your computer.

    Hope this information is useful.

    Hello

    1. did you of recent changes to the system before the show?

2 are. what file download you referring?

    3. have you deleted the file using option DEL or SHIFT DEL?

    Method:

If you have downloaded the file with success and deleted, I suggest you to check if the files are in the trash and check if it helps.

If you are not able to find the files in the Recycle Bin, you can use all of the third party tools and check if you can recover the files.

  • I don't have a paper copy of my Vista 64-bit operating system

Where I can download Windows Vista 64-bit operating system that came preinstalled on my computer? I have my (legal) product key. It is a gateway, and they say that they cannot provide me with it. Someone please help.

    Hello

You say Gateway said that they can not provide you with a Vista disk to reinstall.

Have you asked Gateway if you always had a recovery Partition to reinstall Vista operating system of?

Read this article in the link provided:

"Gateway System Recovery from the hard disk"

    http://support.gateway.com/s/software/MICROSOF/Vista/7515418/7515418asi.shtml

    And this, too:

    "Factory full development".
    http://support.gateway.com/s/software/Microsof/Vista/7515418/7515418su531.shtml

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you will have to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista (what you do), 32-bit and 64-bit Editions come on different DVDs

    See you soon.

I accidentally deleted the directory "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft ' my 64 bit Windows Vista system.  How can I get it back?

    original title: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft

    You can try this program:

    http://www.filehippo.com/download_recuva/

Use the deep Scan option. It may take some time.

The System File Checker can repair some of the files in there, but probably not all.

It's probably at least some of the files that have been overwritten. so I would say the the more safe thing to do is to reinstall Windows.
