  Take it back to the Apple Store and ask them to check it out. It should be under warranty. Bring the MBP along too. It sounds like there might be a problem with it.

What's up with rel. 38.4? It is clearly buggy and I hesitate to accept additional upgrades with this lesson hanging over me. I'm under 10 Windows on a 64-bit computer.
